History has already proven that wow players are retarded.

So if retards try to measure a game....

Nice 'here' link. =p

So they ban a lot of people who bought the game and claim they know they are using 3rd party programs all nazi style?

What keeps them from banning lots of regular players in this fascist form just to open more room for other people to buy their game, til they milked enough money to disappear?

I wonder if anyone was banned without reason and will try to sue them.

I was seriously considering buying darkfall because I honestly like the idea of the game, but these authoritative posts just keep me from doing it. Maybe I will give free trial a chance if there's ever any.

Remember cryptic cheats their screenshots. They set the quality well beyond any computer can handle for these screenies.

Darkfall delays are pretty much the only thing that makes me go:

DAAAAWWWROFL

As in, daw, I want it to be true and ROFL, it's either not true or the 'developer' is doing this on purpose to make people go VAPORWARE!

Oh please, just die already and take Richard Gayriot with you.

It really lacks a  None of the Above  option.

I think the main point why people say they are skeptic is because they (df) have lied before multiple times already about beta. They have projected a release with a lot of testing undone, with nothing setup to handle such a release.

How can people not be skeptical? Listen to what they're saying? We're tried that before, and again, and again and nothing happened. i think the point being made is, use a little common sense, a little logic. You put trust in those who have earned it.  Aventurine has shown they are not worthy of such trust.

That and just look at the fatcs. There is no information anywhere about the testing, and all the other stuff Ozmodan brought up. Their timetable is not possible. That is simple logic. Then look at past history of this exact same scenario happening multiple times, the conclusion is obvious! The game is not even close to release if anything exists at all.

This argument about darkfall is the same as when someone argues with someone about religion. No matter what you point out, how all contradictions are brought to light, the ending line is " it is all about faith."

Seriously, that is no way to prove something, about anything, especially a game that has been in development for so long and shown to deceive already.

I'm skeptical myself, but what you pointed out seems speculation to me, like most of the things people say about this game. There's always NDA but I agree it's a bit weird we lack at least one asshole breaching said NDA to post things about it.

But hey, there has been a presentation in Athens. *shrugs*

Anyway, I'd rather not claim either way when there are no evidences for either, I will just keep my suspicions and joke around, since it's always funny to see people fighting over something that doesn't matter at all.

I can program that in half a day, that's no argument, specially because it can be done and tested without any public knowledge.

Besides, what's the point in saying it's real or not when there's no decent data pointing towards one end or the other. If anything, I find it suspicious, but we will find out sooner or later.

Woohoo, I'm in beta!

;(I'm sorry, I lied. ;)

I don't care if it's successfull or not.

More Sci-Fi MMOs = <3

My account is 3 years old and unsubscribed, I was able to log in without any problem on old characters. Not sure about reactivation issues, but I can use it right now.

Hello kitty online: Teaching your kids how to kill cute fluffy things with a broom.

Free trial? No. They would have to -pay me- if they wanted me to play this shit.

Sounds promising so far. The only thing I am wondering about is how often do you engage in combat. If it is very often, which is unrealistic in most fantasy settings, even Conan, I imagine it would get tiresome to have to use arrows everytime you attack. However, I wouldn't know, so I look forward to your impressions after you've been killing things for a couple hours.

My Xbox 360 controller is going to LOVE this game...

Hooray

My G15 is going to love it even more. Hopefully it wont come with some crazy protection that kills the keyboard's macro manager.

Actually, I hope it wont come with any sneaky self-installing protection that hides as a service. Always makes me want to kill someone.

You're not required to accept an EULA, but then you don't play. If you don't like the EULA, don't play, state you're not playing because the eula and spread the word to other players about the horrible rules they don't know they abide to. That's the best you can do.

And about the changes/enhancements, you must be young. Any contract you sign for power, internet, water, almost anything non specific, has a clause that states they can change it without refunding you, but at the time they change the contract, you have to sign it again, or stop using their service. That's how it goes. It's rare to find a contract/eula with a fair refunding policy.

You see the problem isn't the game being unfinished, they have problems to fix, I know. And they will fix it, they are working on it right now and it will be more and more playable. My problem with the game is that it isn't what they kept saying it was going to be. The world isn't all that dynamic, they force you to walk around to collect logos like mad (which is slow as hell), and not only that, but it's freaking level based. You can kill the very same shitass AI-less creature now and then you walk into another spawn point where they are somehow 5 levels higher and they smack you in the face, simply because of level. That's not good for a quasi-FPS game. I'd rather see different weapons in the hands of those baddies to justify the extra punch.

But eh... Every freaking game is gearing towards that direction anyway. Simpletons rejoice.

It's only 3 days so you don't have time to realize what a piece of crap you're running into. Another funny thing about Tabula Rasa was all the hype it was getting and then bam, release, nobody talks about it anymore.

By all means... Give it a try. It wont hurt your pocket.

Being a casual player doesn't mean you're too dumb to understand a complex game. Nor a complex game means you have to spend hours playing it to have fun. Simpler games like WoW target teenagers which is the main market. Teenagers also seem to suffer from a massive penis envy complex, which Freud would love to analyze if he had lived this far, and since they have the time and 'patience' to spend on these games, they try to prove themselves through it. Or maybe they just enjoy the game. Either way, Blizzard thanks their parents for the subscriptions.

Someone mentioned a beginning character killing the 'game boss' not being fair nor a good goal? I'm sorry, but that's an admirable goal. More admirable than the usual nerfing [sic] and balancing everyone takes so much pride in. Like I said before, in less and different words, if you make a game all about killing/questing for experience you end up with butt aches. I think it's much fairer to give every player equal opportunities instead of favoring the ones that have nothing else to do. Sure, rewards are good, but when they becomes everything there is in your game, they are not special anymore, they become work.

The only difficulty in a game that doesn't rely on strategy is ass pain. Nothing cheers me up more than spending one hour in a game to get 10% closer to level and then think; "Yay, only 30 more levels increasing ass pain left to go". With that said, I firmly believe that no MMORPG developer has ever played chess. Not ever. Not once. Well maybe once when they lost and went crying to mommy. Most MMOs I see only challenge your patience and not your mind. Some challenge your reflexes but that doesn't make any of us less than a fat ass either.

What the MMO stream lacks is a game that will require people to think instead of making them spectators who sometimes press a button. A game that doesn't rely on rock-paper-scissors to say it has 'strategical' elements. A game that doesn't turn everyone into serial killers. A game that shows that ever the smallest mice can kill the mightiest warrior with salmonella. A game that captivates people by being fun to play and not by denying them aspects of the gameplay just to keep their ass there, paying monthly, as they hurt trying to reach the highest whatever they can be in the game.
