That is a perfect system as it shows users opinion on the matter and it gives voice and credence to player's opinion of the game.  If more people dislike it and gets a lower score then the overall metacritic score will reflect that.

How is it perfect? I would say most of the 0-1 scorers haven't even played the game, they dont have clue how good or bad it is, they have just come from other games to lower the score. MMO fanbois are weird like that. Metacritic is pointless as you dont have to prove you have bought, played or tried the game, any gaming forum can spam asking people to make accounts to lower thr games score Look at MW3 getting an average score of 1.7 after all the BF3 forums spammed the campaign to vote it a 0 score.

Bah, if only they did this a few days ago!! Im not sure i want to download the client again as i already un-installed the game!

Im sure it wil make a lot of folks like me with a lot old chars happy tho, all i wanted was to log back in to see whats changed in the last few years, i certainly didnt want to resub without seeing whats new.

So i played for 4 years, have all x packs but the latest, and on login i cannot play any of my classes, access any of the expansions i have already bought? It's asking me to unlock classes which i own the expansions for.

It seems to be SoE expect me to buy it all again!?

Yes, i found the graphics poor, the animations even worse, and it felt a tad too cartoony, and the UI is apalling.

That said, i had fun. So i have pre-ordered it when i never planned on playing this game.

The quests in the ROI expansion really are just dull and boring rehashes of each other not to mention 95% of them involve killing the same mob types with just the amount of kills needed being different. The amount of fetch and carry questlines right from the start along with the insane amount of  collect X amount of rocks, traps or some other stupid items type quests are way out of control.

Worst of all and completely unforgivible is the lack of quests in ROI. The offical forums are full of posts about people having to grind out the last half a level due to lack of content and along with no new 3, 6, 12 or 24 man dungeons/raids, ROI comes accross as a very unfinished expansion.

As far as I know, RoI has plenty of new dungeons and a 24 man raid... This entire post I quoted is miss information. Hope people can tell the difference between posters who played since pre launch (me) and some random troll who just blasted 3 full paragraphs oof horse shit. :)

 

Lets look at Isengard :

a. Sam and Frodo went in the opposite direction.

b. Gandalf still isn't back from his battle with the Belrog

c. Gimly , Legolas, Stryder are chasing the orcs that stole pippen and merry

d. the riders of rohan are off doing shit

e. the king of rohan isw incapacitated

f. we aren't even in Rohan yet.

This is the Bridge to fangorn forest(spell check) Rohan itself and helms deep, whichRohan  will probably be a completely new land mass map that will link Eriador to Gondor.

What is sad, this would of been a free patch, but Turbine like every other company has to deal with the currenct economic state of the United States Economy, aka a recession. Instead of laying off 100's of workers, they are charging for this patch, which I don't mind.

Plenty of new dungeons? there are NONE! The new dungeons didnt even make it, they are not due for another 3-4 months yet.

The 24 man raid is one single boss - thats it. So dont lie to people about how many new dungeons there are.

This was a poor expansion, i will keep playing, and have done since day one, but this expansion is the worst yet, it should have been a patch only.

Well the F2P inventory makes crafting hard, as does making them only able to hold 2g max - anything above is lost so hard to buy and sell when you only get 2g to work with, also the mailbox and auction house restrictions make it tricky.

Does that sound awesome or what?  This game is totally brutal, and it is all rendered on wide screen, high resolution, and technicolor! That Atzel country is gorgeous too, with a fortress and outlying camps. This game reminds me of Diablo 2 in some ways. Core gameplay is  similar. If you were a fan of Diablo 2, Age of Conan is like D2 on 'roids. Both games are combat driven, both  have major recourses allotted to  quality art  and music, both have mysterious and engaging worlds to roam, both could be described as a low fantasy rpg; there may be some far out stuff in the games you will encounter, but you play as a human

So, Goto X, Kill X Aztel's, Collect xx Aztel ears. Basically?

PS this game is nothing like Diablo, nothing at all!!!

Enjoying the game more, at level 30 now, however Tortage is AoC's problem. It was so much better done that the post tortage content. Im still waiting and hoping the quality picks up. I like the combat, its very visceral, however im disapointed that a Conan game has virtually no PvP in it, even on my PvP server, its all PvE so far. No one seem to queue for PvP at all, and i rarely see another person in the world to kill, the odd F2P but thats it.

Lastly, what is the endgame like? Im hoping for some kind of PvP open world maps etc?

Hopefully its not more 3-5 hour raid slogs like every other game - I soooo cannot be bothered to raid anymore, it takes too much time.

i would much prefer lots of short 5 man tough dungeons, and lots of open world PvP maps at endgame. Although it seems most prefer the 4 hour raids, these days over PvP or smaller instances that dont take up an entire evening.

Well was REALLY enjoying the game, found a few F2P friends, quested, PvP'ed and loved the voice acted quests. There were very few kill this quests, or take this here, the quests were interesting, had a lot of lore and background.

My GOD does this quality drop out of tortage, from the excellence of that first 20 levels, to kill xx bears, and cats, oof and kill the boss bear. Quests become very generic, no story compared to Tortage.

I was on the verge of Subbing, but now im stuck. Does the Tortage level of quests,polish and story come back, or was that just there to lure people in? Im currently so disapointed, can anyone tell me if the higher end stuff which i assume has more content and padding is as good as tortage?

Well colour me disapointed. Hit Level 24 today, and the fact i cannot chat in game to anyone has made me cancel. I WANT to group, but have no way of talking, it wont let me talk in global, LFG, TRIAL. Hell i even went to the forums to ask and F2P players cannot post on the forums (EU)

It's quite obvious that we F2P players are the red headed children of the game. Despite the fact if we buy dungeons and new chars, bags etc from the Item shop, we would spend much much more than a subbing player. We just arent good enough to be aloud to chat to the Subbing players i guess.

I could live with all the other heavy restrictions on the F2P, ie the low low inventory slots, or the only having 4 of 12 chars. But not allowing us to communicate in game is not conducive to getting us people to stay in the game. Im sure that others, like me when they reach the game outside the starting tortage place, and realise they have no way to advertise for groups, or talk to others, will just leave.

They need to let us F2P players be able to chat after we leave Tortage, otherwise im fairly sure this alone will doom the F2P of AoC.

Shame, as i was really LOVING my class :) i just want to group and be social too :(

I'd like to change my vote back to CoX. I am back!

DC was fun, but its no MMO, its just a fun Action game that other people tend to play. They have not added content, the UI is still a PS3 UI, it was recently down for weeks along with Sony giving my credit card details to hackers.

I was max level in DC in days, there is a serious lack of any content at all, to be honest i had done most of it in under a month, and just played hoping they would add something, or ANY content!

Its also on Life support now, the PS3 server is jam packed, however the PC servers are completely dead, you can go a whole night seeing maybe 1 or 2 people, and due to the chat system is seems even emptier.

Shame, it had potential, but Sony blew it big time. Its actually a relief to get back into CoX and start a new Char on the Rogue expansion! :)

Well they never did get back to me after saying my drivers and teachers license werent acceptable ID. Although i did manage to get my money back. Good luck APB, i think your gonna need it right now.

It was the weekend when you sent the initial email, so that explains the lack of a reply yet.  I'd expect a response today.

 

On a related note-

Should we as paying customers expect account/support service on the weekends?  From the customer perspective I would say absolutely.  However from a business perspective I understand that games have high development costs as well as high fixed costs, and adding weekend support would eat into what is for most games an already slim profit margin.  Certainly WoW can afford to offer weekend services, but for a game with 100k subs, that weekend service would likely be a relevant and prohibitive expense.

Well its now nearly midnight monday. By the time i wake up it will have been 48 hours. Appalling support. If this isnt sorted when i get hom from work tuesday i'll give it up and pray steam will refund me.

Nope nothing back yet, been waiting a good day and a half nearly now. You would have thought they would make new customers getting this a priority.

Well its been 30 hours so far with no reply. Still banned and can't play for a game i paid for. Sent a chaser email to them today, hopefully they will get back to me. I now see this is a common problem with APB, bit of a farce so far.

Same here :( APB want to see all kinds of ID and personal info to unban me. I only owned the game for maybe 4 hours before they canned me :(

Steam haven't replied. My Bank account shows the money leaving and they confirm its transfered. APB want to see ID, proof of adress and my reciept - Not really sure i want to send them all that info. Contacted steam to see whats happened, not sure if they will refund me my money :(
