excited about ff: arr? what class/job are you looking forward to?
General Discussion « Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn 5/01/13 9:53:34 PM
I agree with Yoshi-P in that I would also like to see more caster classes/jobs. I'll most likely be working my way towards White Mage at launch. It would be neat if they somehow incorporated some out of the ordinary classes though, like Time Mage, or Chemist.

Got mine. Were there only about 300 keys? They'll be gone in an hour. lol

Originally posted by Tumblebutz As I already stated, I am interested in CU. Typically, when one spends money on an investment, it's nice to see what other people think about said investment. One thing I try not to "listen to" or "watch", is people making nonsensical statements with no factual basis whatsoever. But I digress, I'll be interested to see how they go about developing the game. MJ has been pretty straightforward about everything, including the principles on which he will make the game. I wonder which ones, if any, will be more efficient.

Agreed. I'm glad CU has been fully funded. There are a lot of people who want to see this game realized. I myself am hopeful that this game will live up to its expectations. However, I just can't stand listening to people drudge on and on about this game as if it were better than canned bread. It was never amusing to see someone speak their thoughts about CU, and then watch as several people with a "Support CU on kickstarter" banner in their signature hammer that person with a finely tuned bulleted list. Hopefully now that it's funded, people can calm down and let MJ & Co. make their game. |

Neverwinter: Open Beta Kicks Off
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 4/30/13 12:25:03 PM
What surprises me is how the companies launching these games don't expect to get bombarded with network traffic when they release a game, which basically tells thousands of people to log on at a specific time.

Neverwinter: Open Beta Kicks Off

This type of thing happens to at least 90% of MMO launches. It shouldn't really be all that surprising anymore.

Pirated copies of Dev Tycoon cause players to go bankrupt because of pirating.
General Gaming « General Discussion 4/29/13 11:47:21 PM
Absolutely genius! It's very sad that over 90% of the copies being played are pirated. The fact that the people who pirated the game will go bankrupt due to piracy is, in my opinion, hilariously justified. |

Anyone else notice that they have some really bad acronyms for this network test? The client is named Drillbit Anthracite Ophelia Conifer (DAOC), and I'm not even going to say what the acronym for Camelot Unchained Net Test is... |

It's basically a bad online interpretation of Marvel Ultimate Alliance.

Ecol Tactics Online is probably the closest I have found to a Final Fantasy Tactics-esque experience, at least combat-wise.

Poll: Will CU's Kickstarter reach $2 mil?
General Discussion « Camelot Unchained 4/12/13 12:39:58 AM
One has to admit that a goal of $2,000,000 is pretty high. Taking a quick browse through the kickstarter 'Game' category, no other games that I can see have asked for two million (though some have been funded past that mark).

A massively brutal critique of Camelot Unchained's website

You were right when you said it was brutal. Still, I had a good laugh though. Thank you. =)

Wildstar is the first game I've seen in a long time with a large focus on end game (or elder game as they call it). Obviously, people are going to look at this game and see similarities to WoW (mostly the art style), but people say that about every game. I am a big fan of housing, especially housing that serves a functional purpose. That, along with some other things I've seen about Wildstar, makes me hopeful that this game can deliver a genuine amount of fun. My only gripe with this game is that it is being published by NCsoft. While a decent company, recent news of layoffs and downsizing don't bring a lot of optimism for Wildstar. |

Is it possible that EA will remove DRM from Simcity?
PC Gaming « General Discussion 3/08/13 5:24:45 PM
Lol... No.
EA was voted The Consumerist's worst company of 2012 for a reason. I can't recall them ever doing anything that could possibly be misconstrued as a redeemable action. |

Is Action Combat the future norm in MMORPGs?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 3/03/13 2:30:54 PM
I enjoy it, to a point. I think it adds a marginal amount of immersion beyond a traditional style MMO, but if I play an action game for too long I begin to miss the familiar feeling of tab-targeting. I think having options is nice. I would hate to see every MMO go the action route.

You can play 5 new MMOs a month now
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 3/02/13 12:36:53 PM
Interesting. I wonder if this trend will continue, or will things start to slow down in the next 10 or so years. I'd like to see more quality over quantity. Maybe we could take that 95% crap down to, say, 90%. lol
