When Chthuluvong said "It lets both those who FPS and those who don't compete on a level ground", I wanted to state that the idea had some merit but NOT as a guarantee for equal chances in PVP. And I certainly don't demand such an equalizer: |

Something along these lines would be a good way to merge player skill and character skill. It could also extend to accuracy, with a new character having a wider dispersion of his bullets (think a small random angle between aiming direction and actual bullet path). It is, however, not a way to ensure equal chances in PVP. Because eventually, you will have veteran FPS players who have played FE long enough to gain veteran combat characters. At this point, the non-FPS player with a new character will get completely hosed. |

Damn right. Neocron was groundbreaking in its concept and could be much bigger if the code quality was better. Actually, I think Neocron could still recover if Reakktor would fix a few things. The most important being the laggy netcode, followed by a few long promised but still unavailable features. This said, I think Icarus Studios have a good chance of filling that market niche. Unless Twilight War beats them to it. Tabula Rasa might also absorb a few of the sci-fi MMORPG fans, so the competition will definitely increase. For Reakktor, I am icreasingly pessimistic |
