I thought all 4 greenskin classes had been announced and they were Black Orc, Orc Skirmisher, Goblin Shaman, and Goblin Squig Herder. I check today and Skirmisher is gone and here is BERZERKER? When did this happen? I'm PRAYING for 2 of the classes to be Orc or Goblin (namely Berzerker and Shaman) so that I can FINALLY play my Goblin Fanatic! So, is this new or did I miss something?

Couldn't find much info on if the games steep requirements have been ironed out at all. I have a Athlon XP 3200+ with 1GB of RAM and a GeForce 6800 128MB. I used to have to run this two notches BELOW balanced to get anything resembling playable and even then I could get stutters often. Have they streamlined things at all or am I better off waiting for a system upgrade before coming back? The game did not look very good at the settings I could play it at...

Guys being punished in schools for wearing eyeliner?!

I've been a tax-payer since I was 15, so I guess I was partly paying for my own school, eh? Regardless, rebel all ya want. I'll pay for it if these other old-grumps wont.

So how is SWG different other than you pick what skills you can have? Its still the same combat style. Oh, and level is fairly meaningless in WAR. Enough new characters can still take down a max level. Oh, and yes, I did play SWG. I loved playing my engineer. Doesn't change the fact that the combat felt just like every other MMO I've played. |

If there was 1 band/music group you could wipe off the face of the earth...

Dont Radiohead, Coldplay, and Oasis count as one band? They all sound like whiney crap to me!
Why all the Slipknot hate? I can't think of another band that sounds like them except maybe Mudvayne, who I also greatly enjoy. |

I've gotta say, for the first time in an MMO, I really dont care about the crafting. In every other game, crafting has been a big part of the experience, but in WAR, the PvP/RvR combat has me so interested that crafting is way down on the list of my worries.

Looks good as always. Still waiting to see if I can play my Gobo Fanatic. Even if its just a skill tree for the Gobo warrior or something...just gimme a big ol' ball 'n chain and I'll be happy. Oh, and spinning insanely. Can't be a fanatic without wild spinning.

Could it be? Are they actually LISTENING to us? The list of changes (or at least additions in the high level zones) sounds a lot like what so many of us have been asking for. GOOD BYE HONOR SYSTEM! YAY!

Ah, I see what your saying. Well, if they dont allow you to make macros of pet commands, they should have pre-made buttons for every possible command...otherwise, yes, it would be a pain in the butt, I agree.

Still withholding judgement for the final product, but those animationd did look really bad. As long as the gameplay makes up for it, though, that is a minor worry...and as was said it IS only in the second phase beta.

Um...their is a pet class, though. Goblin Squig Herder.

Why do so many people want a pvp game?
General Discussion « Lord of the Rings Online 8/03/06 12:50:49 PM
As has allready been said, their are PvP centric games, but they are either getting old (DAoC) or just plain suck (Shadowbane). SWG was perfect, IMO, for PvP and it was run well. Hell, WoW had decent PvP before the Battlegrounds were added. When I first looked at MEO, they were planning on having the evil races playable. I still dont see why they aren't. Dont give me that "they aren't intelligent" junk. Intelligent enough to recognize and kidnap a hobbit is intelligent enough to do quests and further the expansion of their master. It is correct, however, to say that PvP in what the game has become would be ludicrous. Real PvP would require you to be able to play as an orc, uruk, wraith, or whatever. It wont work in what the game has become. WAR seems to be the only PvP based game that MIGHT get it right...

Not a whole lot of games in development that are really doing it for me. TCoS is definitely one of the handfull though. Others would be Hero's Journey and The Chronicle. As long as one of these 3 games delivers, I'll be exceedingly happy.

After watching the animation for the "arena monster" I have no idea what your talking about. Looks pretty good to me.

I donknow...when I was playing SWG shortly after the CU (which I did enjoy...refuse to play NGE), I had Station Pass and was playing EQ2 and EQ1 as well. I really do enjoy all of them for very different reasons. EQ1 has made massive strides in being more approachable int he last couple years. EQ2 is most definitely improving...unless of course your a crafter, but thats a different story.

What the...? I was really getting interested in Horizons again. They were talking about a new graphics engine (from that other game they are working on) and lots of game enhancements that would totally turn the game around. I REALLY hope the followup clears up whats going to happen now...jeeze.

How much do we know about Classes
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 7/20/06 1:02:19 AM
I'm pretty sure they changed both Battler and Shaman to both Orc and Goblin. I need to play my Gobbo Fanatic!

OK, I'll agree, the sand thing is a friggin joke. Buffs (especially ONLY for those in that zone) are lame as hell as a reward. The tower defense, though sounds good.
Not trying to start an argument at all, but for everyone thats only saying how bad this is, what would YOU do that would be better? First thing that comes to my mind is actual experience for PvP in zones for characters above say...15. Maybe a chance of loot loss, but then since this is a loot based game, that would really PO a lot of people. Anyway, instead of saying how bad it is, tell me what you would do to fix it. |

OK, I get the "not as good" part, but what the heck did the rest of that even MEAN?

I agree with OneMuslim. They CAN"T look as good as the video because of limitations of modern computers. I think the in-game graphics look as close to the video as they can get without making the game run horribly. I think the visual style is looking less and less WoW/cartoonish as time goes on.
