It's a shame that no company can see the potential in this game. It's full of promise though it needs TONS of work. I hope someone buys it and really puts in a couple years of development. |

Terribly unbalanced and lack of polish this close too release.
General Discussion « Wakfu 2/03/12 3:07:45 AM
Since when are classes ever balanced? Unless all classes are the same, it's highly unlikely true balance will ever happen. With that being said, I played in Open Beta and didn't run into ANY game breaking bugs. The only bugs I reported were things like things being in French instead of English for an English server. All the inventive ideas are really interesting, government, ecosystem, economy and battle tactics. Though I don't typically like anime or that art style in games and I wish it was a darker setting, I'm digging it so far. It's got promise. |

Compared to League of Legends, the gameplay is absolutely snail paced. In my opinion, the art is poor all around. The animations are sluggish and need work. The social aspect of the game is limited because you have to pick a Hero (out of like 12 or so) to be your avatar and walk around with no purpose but to queue up. HoN is MUCH better than this piece and I don't even like HoN. It's just a better quality game. League of Legends is absolutely the most polished and well made game in the genre. If you're looking for a MOBA, go with LoL or HoN. |

Just started up again. They've updated a few things graphically (among other things) and it runs much smoother than I remember. I'm enjoying it even before the F2P starts. |

First off, I submitted a petition like a week ago, still no response about my character being stuck. I've been playing the free trial for a week or so. Anyway, the game has such great art direction and graphics, but the lack of customer service, not to mention the performance issues and BUGS/exploits is just keeping this game down. I really really hope they continue to work on it, because it has so much potential. I've found that they NEVER do hotfixes and their are bugs there that remain without being fixed (seemingly easy to fix bugs, I might add). The have patches like every few months that address a couple things but cause other issues. Hopefully they get their schtuff together soon with all of the other MMOs lurking so close to release. |

I have trouble enjoying EVE, will this game be the same?

It's 1 point per minute = 60 points per hour = 1440 per day. |

The Bright Wizard was an offensive powerhouse for a while, yeah, but every class has it's weaknesses. They also had like 100 HPs, so you could almost cough on them and they died. In a group and not paying attention, yeah, they'll light you up but if you got the jump on them, they run like any mage/wizard should. There were some tweaks that probably needed to be done, like fixing accidental compounding of DoTs or something to that effect but, I really didn't think it was that bad. Oh and I recall one of their main bolt spells taking forever to cast. I guess it depends on what rank they were but yeah, forever to cast. |

And for the record, I have bought and played Darkfall. I'm dying for a good MMO with a little of everything; art, graphics, animations, sound, music, large world, polished presentation, good pvp, many classes, variation of weapons/armor, etc. With that being said, I tried to like Darkfall but wow, how can you? The animations and graphics (with the exeception of the Sky) are terrible. I can appreciate the PvP to a certain extent but comparing that to WAR is like apples to oranges. Darkfall is more like an MMOFPS than MMORPG. Plus I can't get over the fact that my character looks like a fat dude who was squashed by a dump truck. The character model porportions are hilarious. Anyway, back to WAR. |

Oh please, everyone always complains about balance. What is so unbalanced about WAR's classes? Please enlighten me. I don't play WAR anymore because it seemed a bit too linear, but I still can appreciate the intricacies of how complex it is for a game to create many different classes and maintain reasonable PvP balance. My guess is that a class killed you one vs one a few times and you cried about that class being "OP'd"! |

Warhammer Online: Land of the Dead Launch Interview
News Discussion « General Discussion 6/24/09 8:56:49 PM
Although I see your point, it's not entirely accurate, atleast on my server (I say 'my server' because I own it). Last night, on the first day of Land of the Dead debut, yes, a lot of Order were in the LOTD zone, but the implemented mechanic has it so that the opposing force, Destruction, has to gain enough Expedition Resources through RvR (T4 and Player kills) to gain access to the LOTD. Destruction was almost at the point of sacking Altdorf because not a lot of people were protecting it. That's just it though, if they WANT to keep access to the LOTD, Order will rush back to the main lands and fight to keep it. You know, even wars have intermissions. |

Petition to Close down Warhammer?
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 4/12/09 2:58:48 AM
This game is no where near the point to be considered a failure if anyone is insinuating that. It is actually somewhat successful in it's own right. It's got a few innovative ideas that other MMOs, in this or the next generation, will copy and become MMO standards such as Open Parties, PQs, etc. I enjoy the game from a creative standpoint but much more from a "fun-factor" standpoint. It's just fun. In my opinion, it does suffer from being shallow in most other aspect besides RvR, though they've made it no secret that RvR is their main focus. A couple of years into the future, I think they'll expand it plenty and we'll look back at it as one of the best MMOs. Oh and as for the nay sayers who really haven't tried it, your opinion really isn't validated. And for the people who complain about "balancing" issues... well that's just a tired one-side argument because at your argument's core, you're really just whining that someone has killed you. Ugh... whiners. |

Warhammer Online : Age of Reckoning: Jeff Hickman Interview
News Discussion « General Discussion 3/16/09 9:08:58 PM
Saying there is "no endgame" in WAR is like saying you know everything about it - it's false. There is endgame like any other MMO. There are a few dungeons, live events that pop up every now and then and of course RvR. Six months after the game's initial release and the cities haven't been sacked yet??? Wow, now lets think about that for a minute. Don't the people have to be atleast lvl 37 to even make a valiant effort in attempting it? Doesn't it take time to get to lvl 37 before they do even attempt it for the very first time? I'd say both sides have only had 3 months or so before enough people were able to even attempt to take a city. You then have to anticipate the learning curve, because there is no manual on how to take a city. Plus the shear difficulty that Mythic made it, which it seems is a good idea. I'm sure it'll happen soon as on my server, Badlands, people get closer and closer each day. Sacking a powerful city shouldn't be a weekly thing and I'd be afraid if that's what you really wanted. I'm sure the next thing you'd complain about is that the game is way too easy or that everyone has the same gear because everyone has earned it from sacking the city too many times. |

(ORDER) Whats the most powerful class (per role) for the Order
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 3/16/09 8:58:58 PM
Lol you're crazy if you honestly think that. They all have their pros/cons but Mythic uses Mirror classing so every class has a mirror-image of themselves on the other side. The grass isn't greener on the other side... its the same. |

Warhammer Online : Age of Reckoning: Jeff Hickman Interview
News Discussion « General Discussion 3/16/09 8:44:47 AM
No doubt, I'm having a great time. I've been playing since beta but I stopped two months after release but resubbed in January. They've been busting their ass to fix stuff and add stuff. It's impossible to appease everyone with the changes they've made, especially when some people are just chronic whiners. If the game isn't for you, stfu and go play another game. Also, play the game again and do a more thorough review if you're going to bash it because a lot of your QQ reasonings as to why you don't like it are old, tired and need a sponge bath. |
|
I've played many MMOs and have enough experience with them that I believe I form good opinions regarding them but I don't see how that makes me "full of myself". I have an opinion and I believe it to be a good one based on my experiences and what I like about MMOs. Do you even care about this? It seems you would rather just stir things up. |
