IGN reviews LOTRO and awards it with 8.6 plus editors choice award.
General Discussion « Lord of the Rings Online 5/12/07 11:59:34 AM
Why the hell do you care so much. Who cares if there is a bad review. If you want a bad review, go look for the WoW troll greifers who scan the LOTRO boards just to say bad stuff about it when they played for 5 seconds.
This is a good game, smooth launch, good community when people aren't yelling about random stuff, and its not all about phat lewt and the what not. If you don't like this game, leave it alone, don't go around telling people "this is a bad game because of *insert random phrase of why its a WoW clone here*" and saying not to play it. Just go play WoW, or EQ2 or whatever you want to play and leave the community alone. |

I played through closed, pre-order beta and got the game at launch, i bought it, almost the special edition. But i payed for the subscription. Only reason why you hated it after a week is because turbine's grace period was over and you didn't feel like paying for it.
So if you don't like it, don't post about it, don't think about it, and don't go on here telling people they shouldn't play it. |

To the people who said their five year olds play this game: good for you for spawning prodigies of the human race, i didn't know that five year olds could read without interuppting their nap time at pre-school

If you read anything, this takes place during the time line of the hobbit to the first book of the main trilogy, not the movies. The huge battles didn't take place yet. Mind you that there is an expansion that offers more lands that Tolkien wanted published but never came to fruition. |

Warhammer orcs have bigger mouths because they eat people and other things in one big chomp. So yea, go get one of those Rosetta stone CDs and learn to spell.

your right about the fungus thing. In both Warhammer and 40k, they are known to be more like fungus. They usually just grow somehow and amass a large force from nowhere.

Yea i know, but if only. It would be neat to do evil missions to turn to Chaos, but i do understand all that they have to do. But no matter, its going to be a great game.

Oh dear sweet Khorne, thats the funniest thing EVER! What makes it so much more funny for me is that i play Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay with my friends (My GM has the very old rules and the new ones) and i've had to role on the mutations chart, which isn't fun, especially when you grow hard fleshy spikes all over your body cause you used a teleport medallion made out of warpstone |

Distortion0, i'm not picking a fight with you, but i'm just saying that Warhammer, through the novels i have read, just isn't very Teen friendly. I havn't seen the screenshots of the Dwarves in the trees being devoured by carrion birds, but i probably will sooner or later as i look through the screenshots.
The only reason i think it should be M is that its a very gory game deep down, and i do know that a M rating will kill the game cause we'll have Dumbass JT yelling about how kids used a cleaver in school and yelled "WAAAGH!!" really loud when they did it. I wasn't implementing that there should be rape and drug use and all that other stuff, just there is tons of gore, Bloodletters don't come out of humans nicely. And the Empire to Chaos thing, i know its not Pen and Paper, but i know my super ultra uber hardcore Warhammer geek friend would yell up and down until he passed out about how its dumb that Chaos isn't corrupting the humans of the Empire. I'm sure some hardcore fans might agree as well, but if mythic and GW is saying "no they stay" thats cool, i'm not going to gripe. I'm going to play my witch hunter when the game comes out and flaunt my hat. But what i meant about the Empire to Choas thing is like how on KOTOR (i'll use as my example) you do evil deeds, you slowly turn to Chaos, like they should have missions that would sell "plans" to the legions of Chaos to become one of them, not just *snap* your chaos, go have fun. As to the new part my friend, i've been playing MMOs for a good 5 years, started with EQ, and played others, but stayed away from WoW. Next time when i get all Warhammer geeky, i'll state my intentions much more clearly |

I think the game should be rated M, and for those who read the novels and play the game and well, few anything Warhammer (and Warhammer 40k) you'd know that Warhammer is very bloody, very gritty and very dark. This is not a nice world, everyone dies esentially and everyone is on the verge of justing blinking out of existance(sp?).
The other thing i sorta have a gripe about is that you can't switch Empire to Chaos. How fun would that be that your Witch Hunter is slowly turning to an Agent of Chaos? Thats how Warhammer works, everyone is a suspect, everyone is chaos, leave no shadow unlit. Though playing a Witch Hunter, or a knight of Solken (thats the knights of the flame, Solken, for those who don't know is an god of old warhammer faith). So yea, i'm getting all giddy and excited again, i can't wait to play Warhammer. |

I agree with Areel, most games are more than *Click on target, press A, sit and wait" Guildwars for example. You have your hotbar set up and as you wittle away at your enemy, you have to press your hotkeys to get more damage, to heal your allies in the heat of battle, and to strengthen your armor as you fight. I'm constantly finding ways to find the most effective way to destroy my enemy faster and better. But what the others where talking about is that some people rather not do all that and move around the mouse and keyboard and just hit autoattack and be done with it.
Some people love it, just to sit there and have your avatar beat on something sensless and sit down and watch the battle unfold, others like to sit there and move their avatar around, dodge out of a monsters attack and counter attack. |

i really dont see anything in the game the catches my eye besides the great RVR by mythic all i around the graphs needs work races could be more thought ive seen the combat and its like any other but i havent seen craft if there is and the also the graphs make WOW look like ps3 Where exaclty you saw this great combat system , cause from the videos you only see uninteraptable button mashing. |

So basically all the people who want to Jump in a game are the asshats that sit there and do nothing but jump up and down in one place and lag everything up?
If you base everything over "jumping" in a game, then you need to get your priorites straight and go play Mario for like a year or something. *Disclaimer*(I'm just teasing people, i'm not sitting here yelling at everyone, i just find it strange how everyone needs jumping in a game to actually play it |

Sorry for the bad engish: Faks: -------------------------------------- AOC did take the combat system to a way higher lvl, and the classes to a way higher lvl. Beside that they take the DAOC rvr system, and make it alot better, and more grp and skill based. --------------------------------------

Whoever says that this is "World of WarhammerCraft" or "this so gey, tehy ripof WoW >_<" needs to kill themselves right now, because back in 1976, Goblins looked like the WoW goblins because WoW is unoriginal.

Wru rvr abilities inspired classes and evolutionary pvp ?
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 2/16/07 11:37:34 AM
You know what makes you more eligible for discussing WAR, actually knowing the freaking Warhammer universe. I've been playing and reading Warhammer for 5 years now, and to be honest, i'm excited as all hell to play this game (Witch Hunters FTW) and i'm going to play this game based solely on me loving Warhammer.
"So what if the game sucks" Then it sucks and i leave, i'm not going to cut myself cause i can't grind for gear or the next highest lvl as it seems these dumb immature prattling can't talk english kids do in WoW. Also, i used to play DAoC, it was fun, i enjoyed it, but what sucked about it, no one was around when i first walked in, and my computer hada virus and kept booting me off of the game, but i want to play again. But my friend used to play, he told me about RvR and showed me it, it looks fun as hell, and these Campaigns to go Raid and Loot a city, freakin sweet, i'm up for that. So i'm not soley basing this game off graphics, or which fanbois think what is better, i'm basing me paying money for what the franchise is, Warhammer, not DAoC, cause as everyone says on here, Its not DAoC 2.0, its Warhammer. How you know ? Btw taking cities and so on only leads to zerging. And zerging = no skill no organisation. Again if L2 and FFxII is ur rvr experience i dont expect you to understand. Now, this is funny and makes me laugh on two fronts. 1) Your a freaking moron, get off your fat ass, go to school, and learn english from going to school instead of worrying about your dumb WoW gear, its not going anywhere. 2) Final Fantasy 12 is a few months old you dumbass, and its not even a MMO, are you smoking crack? And how the hell is it even RvR based, its Final Fantasy, you lvl up for hours and get better gear, oh wait, you should be used to this since it Sounds like WoW. Think before you speak Child. |

You can swim in CoH/CoV from the word go. Its not a skill to lvl up like it was way back in EQ. Though i agree with everyone else, why would you want to swim and jump around, to be honest, who cares. If you don't enjoy the game due to the lack of those two things, go away and stop complaining.

Servers Down Again for Troubled D&D Franchise...and another thing
The Rusty Nail (General) « D&D Online 2/13/07 9:08:52 PM
Go play neverwinter nights, i enjoyed this game a lot, but there are to many kids who come in and start bitching about how its not WoW, no shit. But for those who can actually want good atmosphere, good story, good people to either Roleplay or hang out with, go grab Neverwinter, not the second, its online community is just getting off the ground. The first neverwinter has a ton of player created servers.
