I played a lot of hours, and Im still finding a lot to do at only level 30.

The PvP is fun and fast. The farming for mats is fun for me. The trade runs are good for gold. The crafting is also fun.

Ill be very happy when it releases, with all of its flaws, its still a hell of a lot of fun.....And, fun is why i play games for.

Too grindy for me. Nah, no fun. I'll pass on this one.

Too grindy? Compared to what?!

Level 10 in like 30 minutes to an hour (smoke breaks.) Level 30 under 10 hours (food and smoke breaks, also beers)

Questing is a joke, to be honest.  The only quest worth doing after level 30 are gilda stars dailys. After 30, if that much. I stopped questing around lvl 20. You build, craft, trade run, and PvP.

So, Steam was right. Good to know.

I cant wait for it to release. Much fun will be had!

Having a blast! Cant wait till its finally launched so my progresss dosent get wiped.

Learned a lot about the game while in betas, need tog et it done for real now.

Havent found the Pay to Win button yet, but Im still looking!\

I love how it failed in Korea and Russia, yet 2 years later that game is still goin.

If your on the fence about playing it, just wait to release. Its F2P from the get go. Sure LP will be a hassle, but if you plan you should be OK. Your only investment would be your time. Lets face it if your on these forums a lot, you have the time.

Im so ready! Cant wait !

I see the haters are already hating Love it.

It would make sense for Trion to give everyone in Open Beta Patron Status.

They want to show the game off to potential customers, they will want to show the game in its best light. Forcing players to play the F2P version of their world is not showing it in its best light.

Cannot see this happening unless they intend to wipe after Open beta, but I am surpised they did not do this for the Close Beta weekends. A lot of the negative publicity/feedback could have been avoided.

Not going to happen.  People paid for that, sometimes a lot.  Agree or not, letting anyone play in any beta with it for free would be a real kick in the dick to paying customers.

The only way I see it happening is maybe...maybe...the final hour of the final beta before release.  Even then it just sounds like more trouble than its worth.

They sold a hell of a lot of Packs, just look at Steam sales. Plus, someone had to test the F2P part of the game.

To the OP, just wait it out and sub after. You are not goin to be missing out on anything if you wait.  I got the pack cause im been looking at this game for about 2 years. I wanted in on the betas, plus the goodies you get are kinda cool.

The whole land grab thing is goin to fizzle out. You should see how much land they really have.

Just my opinion, but I think a system that makes you stomach 30 levels of crap before you start seeing the good parts of the game is a failed one. Good to know there is something worth grinding to though.

Its not hard to grind 30 levels, if you wanted too. I do about 20 levels and then go off the quest hubs. I do finish the Main Story quest for the Gildas.

I will be doing the grinding on Launch, it is the easy way to level.  Just get the quest, over achieve the quest, get hidden quest. move on. Is it boring? I think so, but its one way to do it. i dont mind grinding, and this is pretty easy grinding compared to Aion.

BUT, while doing that ill also be getting my farm, then my house, then building the house. So Ill alternate grinding with building. Then do a few dungeon runs.

You dont just do one thing at a time, you mix it up.

I'm sure the game will get released when they stop making money from selling you beta and alpha access.

Right now the hype is making them lots of money. The illusion of an "exciting innovative game" is a real selling point for them and that illusion will shatter when they launch.

Right now information is sparse, disjointed (between all the continent releases) and even vague. People can't form a true perception on the game so they just end up buying into a beta or even the alpha. Once the official reviews and launch comments come in from community bloggers, it will steer a lot of people away  (AJ TB or whatever) -  that cash will dry up and they can plod along with a freemium model where they make OK cash from a game that's old and probably cost them peanuts to license (given how wildly unsuccessful it has been everywhere else.)

A hell of a lot of conjecture, speculation, and opinion in one post. Good job for passing this off.

Im sure they will announce it at PAX. I hope its sooner than later. Betas are fine, but knowing your char will wipe not so much

Beta Key?

I'm not thinking specially in playing this thing, but sometimes I wonder maybe it could be a boredom pain reliever whilst other good games are coming on stage. But oh, wait, I will not be deranged by someone by the only reason he has better ping than me. So that, if they don't open EU servers with que I will not play this under any circumstance.

its not goin to be a boredom pain relief, buddy,. It takes a bit of effort to actully get anythign accomplished in AA. plus you'll need a guild or at least a few friends.

They wont add anything to EU that wont be added to NA, que or not. I dont think this is the game your looking for to relieve boredom. You may want to try WoW.

I paid 150 dollars to get into alpha.

I have got 150 dollars worth of entertainment already and I still get more for my money.

Trion got MONEY which is good for them.

People who do not want to pay a dime got a good deal too,  people like me are paying for a game for them.

Why would this make anyone mad I have no clue unless you are jealous and want to play but can't afford the 150.

If you are mad for another reason think about it a second or two, you still get your free game and suckers like me are paying for it, how could this not be a good deal for you too?

I have gotten more than my $50 worth from this game so far.

They are just mad. This site..oh man.

You are just guessing here. What proof do you have they are not selling more Founders Packs?

Look at Steam sales.

For some reason I thought I was going to read.

" when I uninstall it!"

I know right?  Far too many people say things like that.

Sometimes its the little things that make games good (I hope you are taking notes Zenimax).

I actually think its the little things that bring down AA, although you could argue they aren't so little

AA has a great feature set, a big open world, it should be amazing.

But the races are atrocious, the world seems kind of lifeless, the actual crafting itself is 100% skill less...

these things may have seemed unimportant when making the world open and the gathering system require effort, and to many they are.  But they will keep a lot of people from playing and there is no reason that it should be like this.

The races, meh. OK at best. Everything requires effort. Good thing. Big change from the last couple of MMOs. Crafting skill less? Dont know about that at all. You need a hell of a lot of effort to make anything. LP, Materials, and then you need the proficency to be able to craft!

As for keeping a lot of players out. Yes. Weeds out the weak.

So many mad people. Did they make you play the beta? No

Did you test something. yes, you tested the F2P part of the game.

Are they making money of the Founders pack. yes, look at Steam sales for instace. No, I dont have links.

Is this game, good or bad. Depends on who you ask.

Is it sandbox. i think so. No, you cant make your own quest. yes, you can make your own adventures.

I paid $64 for ESO. hoping it would be the next game. it wasnt. I paid for FF14, it wanst the game for me. Face it. Im a gamer. I set aside MONEY for my hobby I think a lot of you guys either need a job, or a new hobby!

The freeloaders, and the haters are killing me. From laughing so hard.

I am one of those who wrote the game off. I heard about this sandbox game and I though let me have a go on the beta weekend to get a feel for what its about. I heard from a friend that it opens up at 30, and this promise was the only thing that kept me going. Tbh I don't look forward to pvp and at the crafting chores is not enough to interest me.. I haven't heard or gotten any feel for whether there is more to do later in the game. There were hints of something interesting hidden in the combat systems, but thats about it.

So I made it to 19 and since its the first run it did take me 10 hours to get there, and the journey was the most uninspired and boring experience I ever tried in any mmorpg. Not only was it extreme themepark but all the rides were cramped even tighter than in any game before and every hub boxed in with rails between them.. It was a chore, boring and pointless. I desperately tried to hop off the rails and try to explore the world because it was a sandbox game right?.. but no there was no escape, so I manned up and kept clicking pointless quests. My friend loved and clicked like mad, and I just grew increasingly bored and frustrated.. Finally I gave in and went to bed, the next day I couldn't bare to log in again.

So You are saying players should just endure the boring first 30 levels and then suddenly the game will go from the most extreme themepark closed world, to and open world sandbox game? It is hard to beleive a game would turn 180 like that, and I can read that is what You guys are saying, but there have been no indications of it playing the game up till now. What is going on, is there any reason why they would make the starting experience so void of sandbox elements when they advertise it as sandbox... It is a complete mysteri to me. It was so completely and utterly out of touch with anything I could define as sandbox or open world.

I do appreciate a game that takes efford and dedication to play, but I feel that the first part of the game will mostly make the target players quit.

It will weed out the weak. So, yeah. its all good.

I had a blast  with the guild. Built another ship. Made new char to lvl 30. Did the quest till lvl 19, then just built and Pvped.

Did finish the main story quest to get the gilda stars. Now the guild has 10 farms, 2 houses, and 2 boats.  I havent done any trade packs yet. I still have a lof of stuff I want to do.

Oh, and F2P. You get what you pay for..basically NOTHING. I blame Obaman for the new generation of freeloaders

Ill have to look up on how badly it failed in Korea, I know its doing well In Russia, and Im hoping till do well her.

Niche game is niche. Not expecting it to be a blockbuster game. Just a game I will play for months.

Dont play if you goin to think you can much as F2P. Dont play alone, you'll be screwed. Dont expect fun filled days of questing, abd story. Think outside the box. If you cant do these things...

This is not the game your looking for.

After watching several YouTube videos out there... This game is nothing new.

With the game play of World of Warcraft and the graphics of Aion / Lineage 2, this is nothing but a bunch of repackaged ideas...

I'll pass on this game.

This is not the game you are looking for....

No, but seriously. I find little if any WoW in AA. The themepark parts are just tutorials.

The story is meh. Both Aion and WoW had better stories. Do they have some new stuff. yes. The fact that its a mix is new in itself.

I coukld try to explain, but you already stated you passed on the game.

Best of luck in your search for your MMO!

In my opinion, Sub games are goin down. The new generation of players will never know what it means to sub to a game and get the full game. The new system is F2P, Cash Shops, and Freemiums.

FFXIV seems to be doing quite well for itself as a sub game.  The model isn't dead.  Eventually the companies will figure out that game design was causing the retention issues, not the cost.

Its not dead, but companies are also looking to make money, faster, I was hoping FF14 would have been MY game to play. I subbed and found FF14 not quite up to my taste. The same went for ESO. Was hoping it would also be MY game for years, that didnt work out either.

Like you said, it wasnt the model, it was the design.  Im hoping AA will be my game for years to come, but time will tell.

Im not thrilled with F2P, Cash Shop, Freemuim deal. In my opinion tho this seems the fastest way for a company to get the iniitial investment back, and go after profits after. I think we will see more of this, and less Sub games in the future.

to be honest, Im hoping that Im wrong,

This week i took knowledge that developers intend to create a single AH to all servers. In other worlds, will going to have free flow of tradeable itens between all servers without a free flow of characters.

This situation will be analogous to a free and desregulated international trade without a equally free and flexible people flux (by political, cultural or economical barriers): some economic activities in less competitive countries will die. This per se isn't 100% bad because, in the other hand, customers will have cheaper and better products to purchase. Few people will really care for the damaged economical activities and unemployed/empowered people previously involved in them, since the benefits of cheaper and better products will surpass.

HOWEVER, in mmos, the activities themselves matter more than the availability of products, since these activities are "gameplay" things, intended to provide fun, distraction and challenges (unlike in real world economic activities).

So, what will happens with a single AH to all servers?

The most crowded servers (or the ones that, for any reason, have more competion over world resources) isn't going to be able to compete in the AH trade with the less crowded servers. The less crowded servers will allow less costs, time and difficulty obtaining products (raw materials, blueprints, etc), so they can produce MORE products, and can sell then cheaper in the AH than the crowded server people. So, people in crowded servers will have more advantage buying the itens from less crowded servers  through AH than producing it themselves (or buying from same server people). Since characters can't freely move through servers (to explore the less crowded spots on the other servers, balancing things), this will kill ALL activities related to the obtention of these itens (e.g: fights over farming spots, world bosses, open world dungeons, trade packs and so on).

So, your against Free Trade?

Also, its not ALL server. EU will be linked to one AH, NA will be linked to one AH.

I think this is a good thing. More Sellers and more Buyers.
