Yong-Hyun Park leaves BHS, is replaced by Hyun-Yong Park. The company says "this will be a completely interchangeable interchange and we will not change any changes instituted by Park" Westerners continue to be confused and baffled yet again citing the who can tell theory line. |

i lold too much at this not to reply. saying xfire is an accurate representation of gamers time spent is alot like attempting to count the grains of sand on a beach by the amount in your shoes. its just plain silly. |

China used prisoners in lucrative internet gaming work
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 5/27/11 7:39:20 PM
What is news here? China has basicly forced its citizens into anything and everything that the powers that be and their corrupt friends have wanted to happen for thousands of years now. Quite frankly this is probably one of the better "forced to do" outcomes there could possibly be. |

Why do people complain about monthly sub MMOs?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 1/14/11 10:33:39 AM
because parents today teach their kids that they are entitled to everything, not responsible for anything, and therefore shouldnt have to suffer any type of ramifications for anything be it monetary or otherwise. |

FOTM is and always will be the downfall to the "talent tree" type class system as 1 possibly 2 spec(s) will always be superior to another in end game/pvp scenarios. The only way around this is to have a set spell system that coincides with a level or achievement, and then people just scream and moan that they have no choice in character development. the talent trees are really just smoke and mirrors put there to fool the players into thinking they have more choices than he really does, when in fact, he really only has 1 to be of any use in end game play. a cookie cutter by any other name is still a cookie cutter |

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Electronic Arts said Wednesday that it will acquire Chillingo, the company that publishes the ultra-popular smartphone game Angry Birds. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Reuters reported it was worth $20 million. "By acquiring Chillingo, EA Mobile is increasing its market leadership on the Apple platform as well as reaffirming its position as the world's leading wireless entertainment publisher," EA (ERTS, Fortune 500) spokeswoman Holly Rockwood said in an e-mailed statement. EA didn't buy the actual Angry Birds game: That's owned by RovioMobile, the Finnish company that developed the game. But EA's purchase of Chillingo will give it access to the publishing revenue from the game's sales. RovioMobile's Twitter account was rapidly firing off tweets, clarifying that it did not sell itself to EA and maintaining that it owns Angry Birds and all of its associated intellectual-property rights. Angry Birds has been one of the most popular iPhone applications since its November 2009 debut. The game was released last week for Android phones, and quickly topped 2 million downloads in just two days, according to RovioMobile. Angry Birds costs 99 cents in Apple's App Store but is free on the Android Marketplace, where it is supported by advertisements. The game is incredibly addicting for both hardcore gamers and casual players. Contestants fling birds with a slingshot at green pigs who have stolen the birds' eggs (that's why they're angry). Different birds have different abilities, weights and strengths. The goal of the game is to destroy all of the pigs in each of more than 150 levels. Angry Birds has become a pop-culture phenomenon. Variety reported that RovioMobile plans on producing a television show, movie and a toy line based on the game. |

you just gotta love the internet. 1 dummy makes the statement that you had to "pay" for beta and everyone else takes it as a fact. the fact of the matter is if you pre-ordered you were allowed to participate in the beta, however there were many sites with keys if you werent lazy or brain dead enough to find them for FREE and quite frankly the pre-order beta spots have been standard now for years. so anyone who wanted in on the open beta who didnt want to pre-order had more than enough opportunities to get a key. i know, that at least for me, i would rather pay $5 to beta test a game for 10 days to see if its worth playing before spending the 49.99+ and tossing it in the trash. If you feel thats to much of a cost on your part, id suggest games at release points arent for you and wait until they offer a free trial.

Im assuming hes referring to PvE. I got the chance to play last night and was more than surprised that i no longer had to constantly rotate my shields in between every volley that i fired with my tactical escort and instead just had to pew pew and maybe boost a shield toward the end of a battle maybe 1 or 2x's. The op is right, they had it well balanced (and some would argue it was a little too easy before this last patch) to where you had to actually "play" your character to down enemy ships on space missions, and if you didnt, you actually DIED (GASP!!! Yes you actually would be defeated, imagine that!!!). The game already has basicly no death penalty in pve and now they went and made it way to easy, especially for those of us who actually took the time to learn how to play our accounts properly. |

they keep removing the threads, unless they finally came to their senses and let a reasonable and rational discussion run its course. i know they had been removing threads on the subject repeatedly today |

i have to laugh at how forum moderators these days will take absolutely any post down unbecoming of any game for absolutely no reason. no one was being an asshat to one another, nor was there any flaming of any type going on. someone started a thread about how slow the patch was going, as most people were below 30% of a 2 gig patch after several hours of patching (im getting about 1% every 20 min or so) and low and behold it disappears. i have no problem whatsoever with threads that are either out of hand, incessantly flaming, or have people at each others throats being removed, but i mean come on, we were just verifying that it wasnt on our end or ip connections. people really need to learn how to take constructive criticism and let people have rational and civilized discussions on matters, and unfortunately this is the way it seems to be heading overall on the entire planet and not just in stupid game forums. at this rate we will all be united under an iron fisted socialist regime because that seems to be the way most people want it for whatever reason, and quite frankly that scares the hell out of me. who is raising these people to think like this? |
