#1 is just a plain wrong.   Pre-cu had lots of players, and alot were sticking around.  Sure some were leaving, but as soon as the cu hit thats when people left in "droves".

You could try the warhammer alliance forums, they have a pretty good help section.

They changed the address for thier patch server (at least for a little while), you may need to flush your DNS cache to fix the patching error.   I had to do that before the patcher would update it yesterday.

As a note, when i play I disable my antivirus (AVG Free edition) and I dont load anymopre stuff. My system is pretty clean talking about spyware/adware/virus and so, so it runs very well.

The game runs fine. Sometimes I find have some glitches but really only from time to time. Zones loads really fast.

So in my opinion the game is awesome. The combat is fun and interactive. In the long run? Well I cant talk for the long run but the game is actually, for me, what I was waiting and hoping.

 

I had a 7900GT and found it lagged a bit and fps was low, even at low settings, so i got a new video card and have no problems now.    Glad to hear you doing good with it though.

What do yo umean? I fought I can also play single player after 20 and level.

Nope, after level 20 its multiplayer, but the zones/instances have a max number of people allowed in them before a new one is made, so theres never more then 50ish people (i forget the exact number) with you, so competition for mobs and stuff isn't too bad.

Yeah its amazing.  The water is absolutly beautiful.     Theres this spot once you leave tortage, I forget the name, but its something like crows valley, anyways, you can stand in this spot and see this huge zone layed out with a couple villages and streams/rivers and stuff, and in the distance on the mountain a waterfall is cascading down.

At least with instances there is less competition from gold farmers for nodes and mobs.  

There is no crafting until you hit level 40, so up till then everything you get is from drops.   (at least until the trader starts working again and you can buy other people's items.)    I don't know if level 40 crafters can make low level items to sell.

I know I read somewhere that they intend player made items to be roughly equal to drops, but that could always change.  Hopefully not, but it could.

Yeah the game guide isnt the greatest, it took me a little while to figure out the combo system.     If you haven't figured it out yet, the 3 arrows are your attack directions.   To do a combo, click the combo button that you want to do, then click the arrow that it indicates.   You will then perform the combo.  

No idea about the free beer.

A lot of the / commands don't work yet.  Some do, some don't.    I think right now they are working on fixing the trader problem, then they will worry about minor stuff like the / commands.

Audio, visual, travel options (boats, mounts)?

Provided you have a good graphics card the visuals are excellent.   The audio is pretty good as well, the only "issue" that i have is that tortage has voice acting for all quests, where as once you leave the island there doesnt seem to be any voices for quests.    I think you can get your first mount at level 40, and there are different kinds and speeds of mounts.

(b)

Do you feel free or do you feel confined?

A bit of both, there are open spaces, but there are some areas that have invisible walls that guide you along.

(c)

Can you travel, get lost?

You can't get too lost, the map is pretty good. Multilevel dungeons can get confusing though.

(2) How would you rate and describe character customization?

Excellent, you can customize most facial features (eyes, ears, nose - size, shape etc).    There are also a number of scars and tattoos you can have, although not a whole lot.   Armour looks pretty similar so far, but im not into the high levels yet, I have read on the forums it gets better.

(3)

How would you describe the game's content?  Is it solo friendly?  Are there dungeons?  What is the PvE environment like?

The game so far has been solo friendly, and I have seen both groups and solo players running all over the place.    

 

 

 

Yeah a new graphics card is what you need.   The newer cards pretty much all use 16x PCI-E slots and require at least a 400w power supply (the card needs its own power connector).     So you need to find out what your motherboard and power supply can handle.   Being a Dell, you might run into problems in that area since they sometime use propriatary hardware.

yeah hour and a half for me as well, there were two patches, the first one was just under 100MB, and the 2nd one was a bit over 600MB.   If its taking half a day to install something is screwed up with your computer or the install.

Bringing pre-cu back will probably bring the populations up, of course with a big game coming out in 5 days, it probably wont go up very much.

Yeah I check out the swg wikipedia article every once in a while.   Whenever someone posts the truth about what happens (and cites it), this one guy always reverses it, and since hes an admin or something, the glossed over lies are what are left.    Probably works for $OE.
