If you want group play. Then you want FFXI(Final Fantasy). You only have to level for perhaps your first 10 levels or so(Familiarize yourself with the characters. But then most of the leveling is done in a group setting.

Since you gain levels after the time requirement and XP requirements are met, you could potentially do a lot of work on one day and gain so much XP that you don't have to play the next day but gain levels anyway, or keep powerleveling and take a vacation to gain your last few levels, correct?

But I guess the linchpin of the system is how many days it would take to fully level up, but overall this system does not seem bad at all for a level based game, it would make leveling much less of a race to the top I think.

You are correct. You could gain all the experience, not play the character a while. comeback and have him leveled up. It gives a great excuse to play a alt while waiting your mains time out. It also works well for the casual player as whatever level requirement is needed to fulfill will be fulfilled. Then all the casual player has to worry about is xp.

I also wanted to add that in the part II Skill: This system would make it applicable to have specialists especially in crafting. Unlike Eve, the skill progression timetable would stay the same. Where in EVE lower tier skills Actually receive time reduction if it is set up correctly. In this system it would offer more specialization and variety to the base classes and crafting skills.

All this talk of AOC makes me want ot go play Oblivion. At least that game is well made! AOC will take the same tumble as Vanguard did. Except I do not think AOC will be as bad as Vanguard. But still bad! I just do not see any large scale battles in AOC.

I have been thinking about this and figured I would give it a shot. I believe the new MMORPGs should use both time and experience when leveling a character. Kinda like mixing Eves model time with standard exp leveling.

Proposal: Using a similar WOW level experience set.

Characters level 1-15 no time limit.

Characters level 16-20 Limit 2 levels per day.

Character levels 20-30 Limit 1 level per day.

Character level 30-40 Limit 1 level per day.

Character  level 41-50 Limit 1 levl per 2 days.

Character level 51-60 Limit 1 level per 3 days.

Character level 61-69 Limit 1 level per 4 days.

Character level 70 limit 1 level 8 days.

Above is just a guideline. Up to the developers how they would wish to mix this in.As well as set a time frame.

The system is set up so you can acquire the experience to level up. But cannot level up till the time requirement is fulfilled.

What this does. It keeps a standard of control and keep potential gold farmers and other types of RMM types from getting too big of a advantage in the mmo market.

Makes it possible to have players of all levels  for longer periods of time. One of the drawbacks in MMORPGs is some of the really good games no longer have a new player base. Due to a lack of players in starting and mid level areas.

Keeps a system in place where a fast leveler cannot take advantage of lower level players due to speed the fast leveling.. Keeps some exploitive behavior from occurring.

Makes alts a viable option. In some games players cap out and only play that one character. They eventually get bored and un-sub.

Hardcore players can still be hardcore. They will just have more characters at a higher level than a casual player.

PART II: As a character levels a time limit may or can be incorporated into skills,perks ect or skills/perks about to be learned. This opens a whole new set of options. giving more direct control over characters and or template design.

While at a certain level multiple skills may be learnable. Only one skill can be in training or "school". After it is complete the player may choose a new skill from that level or choose a skill for his or her new level if applicable.

Also time limits may be given so if a player wants to learn a specific skill he has a certain time frame in which to do it. Or that skill is permanently lost til he is cap level. In the example above "Level 70". At that level he may relearn the skills he missed the first time around.

Skills ect can be  a quest, taught from a trainer or made. However you want to do it.

Hope you guys liked my ideas.

P.S I also forgot to add that it would help with a economy. Would stabilize a economy due to progressive time limits.

After reading the multiple posts from the original OP. I have to say I am quite happy I left SOE when I did. Right after Planes of Power was released. Also when NGE hit SWG. Yes the guild leaderis misinforming that responded in defense to accusations that are quite true. Glad if I need my EQ fix I go to a private server.(Its all scars of velious and earlier) No SOE, Hackerquest idiots involved.

I belonged to a PG guild in both DAOC and WOW. Was in it for almost 4 years. Same people different name. I know this guild leader is lying his arse off. Wish I would have been there. Would have packet lossed the whole zone just for him. But once again. I do not like SOE and will always refuse to use them. SOE is like the Gamers version of AOL. I hate them as well.. Wonder what happened to them !

So to the OP, Hope you find a better mmo. You, your wife and son may enjoy LOTRO. Its very fun with very few /farmers.. Besides you can spot them 100 miles away in LOTRO.

basically for the moon project(tracking the moons movement over a month or so) in jr-high I recorded the moon for 2 days in a row without realizing there was a shadow-person thingy near by.  on the third day I turned around and realized that this shadow was moving when I wasn't, no cars, no people to cast a shadow being in an open field all your hairs start to stand up.  Without realizing it I ended up shining the flash light towards it and the spots that it hit made the the shadow clearly look like it wasn't resting on anything but the air.  the thing didn't respond just kept walking but I still got the stare for 5 seconds mouth dropping to the ground then breaking a world record or three for a 300 meter sprint+house entry.   Obviously when I got home catching my breath I realized that I didn't notice a 3d shadow for 2 nights in a row, might have been false memory but knowing my memory it wasn't.   Theoritcally I ended up getting woke up at 2 in the morning by a shadow walking through my bedroom door three days later, but since I was asleep and gotten woken up it's likely just some sort of night terror(something I've never had before likely not even worth mentioning).

I just changed my time and it wasn't in that spot again.

oh and no clothes from what I could just just this walking shadow.

maybe someday I'll end up camping the spot with a camera for a night if I get the guts to but I doubt it, or that it's still there.

Hi Paul of the two stories I believe yours to be quite truthful. Of my 3 major paranormal experiences in my life they  all contained this shadowform. Of all 3 times two of them were near my own very possible death. The last was a very frightening experience. The home I lived in at the time had a lady who committed suicide a year before I took the place. I dreamt of this lady, she reminded me of another lady I admired who also had a non suicidal but untimely death. But one time I dreamed this and saw her coming to my front door.  My door is always locked. In the dream she opened the door and walked in. I woke up hearing a noise at my front door, at about the same time as I rolled over I saw this shadow figure walk past me stop, look at me and walk on. Scariest moment in my life.! I looked at my door and it had been opened and was 1/3 of the way in. I freaked out pretty bad. What I find interesting with your encounter is all 3 of mine happened around 2-2:30 AM. The last encounter I encountered more than once. I ended up going to SteaknShake every night I was home at around 1 am to 4 am just because of this. When I moved it stopped. The house became a daycare which lasted only 6 weeks. The building has since been demolished.

This is wrong. Rush stated that Operation Chaos' only objective was to cause chaos within the democratic party. To do this Rush encuraged republicans to switch over and vote in the democrat primaries for the losing candidate. This was done just to prolong their election process so they would continue to fight amongst themselves and tear the party apart. The only reason republicans are voting for Hilary is to prolong the part in-fighting not because they think that McCain will lose to Obama. In fact I believe Hilary has a better chance than Obama. His face is about to be drug through the mud by republicans and McCain should win by a landslide.

Q.2. What you think about the communitie in LOTRO ?, it is big ?, you hardly see anyone around ?, friendly, etc. Heh, Its pretty good. The only area that seems barren at times is Erud Luin(Celondim)Elf starting areas.

Also level 1-6 as a noob will be lonely only because you are in a set tutorial storyline and starting area. After level 10 you can choose to skip the tutorial if making a new character.

Q.3. Whats the pvp like in LOTRO ? is there BG like in Wow? there are specific pvp servers ?Pretty good. PVP is reserved mainly for 40+ characters. Although at level 10 you can do Monsterplay. This allows you to build up skills wit your monster and build of destiny points. very fun.

Q.4. Is there instance or dungeons in LOTRO ? you know like raids and strategy to kill monsters ?This is similar to WOW at high levels, but rarely are there big raids. Lots of instances. Some very difficult ones as well. For a noobie player your Great Barrow quests are kick butt. Along with your Book quests.

Q.5. Whats the best DPS class (Meelee or caster it doesnt matter) in the game ?Hmm, that a dificult answer. As each class has its advantage and disadvantages. But for raw dps it is Hunter, Minstrel, or Champion. I included survivability in this as Lore-masters have good Dps but run around mainly in paper armor.

I sold my Underworld Dream, Jhizom Djinn, Rack/Black Vice Hypno toting black/artifact deck all betas and alphas for 1300 dollars last year. Was the only deck from magic i had left. It included my 15 card sideboard. I played multiple tourneys back in the early to mid 90ies. Was alot of fun. Won quite a bit as well.

If you really want to know who pissed on the public, it's Carl Levin and Jennifer Granholm. Michigan and Florida chose to hold their caucuses out of sequence. They broke the rules that were laid out from the very beginning of the race and jeopardized disenfranchisement of their own citizens. To expect the votes to be counted as they stand (when Obama and Edwards weren't even on the ballot in Michigan), would still be disenfranchisement.

 

 

Obama and Edwards withdrew their names because they refused to take part in the primary unless it was handled in the manner set forth by the DNC. By law, Obama and Edwards could not remove themselves from the primary ballot in Florida without dropping from the race altogether. Obama has stated time and again that he supports a revote IF the candidates are afforded enough time to campaign and get their platforms out to the voters.

 

Of course, Clinton (bussing on a $6.5 million loan of personal money to her own campaign) probably cannot afford that at this point anyway. Besides, how could she gain new support on a revote pursuant to a time when she was on the ballot opposing Dennis Kucinich, Mike Gravel, and Chris Dodd.

Also if by the incredulous improbability that Mc Cain loses the election.. very very very +++++++++slim chance. I would rather look at Hillarys behind than Obamas.
