need some info regarding this game
General Discussion « Istaria: Chronicles of the Gifted 10/29/06 6:54:39 PM
I won't pretend to know why you are doing this research, but I would assume its because you are thinking of trying the game out.
Let me please stress to you that many people feel like its a bad idea to give EI your credit card number. Many "erroneous" charges have gone through on many credit cards. They even wait for months after you cancel before charging again, basically trying to sneak money out of the accounts of people who neglect to check their monthly statements. Please be careful! Use a one-time credit card number or something along those lines if you can! |

Multiple charges on canceled account. EI Interactive are crooks, plain and simple.
General Discussion « Istaria: Chronicles of the Gifted 10/29/06 9:27:36 AM
I subscribed to the Trial back in July and canceled with no problems. I was never charged... until:
September 28 - EIINTERACTIVE.COM - $12.95 October 9 - EIINTERACTIVE.COM - $12.95 So not only do they charge me MONTHS after I canceled the free trial, but they had the gall to charge again within two weeks! And just so ya know, I had only one free trial active... so it can't be a case of "forgotten account." I called the iPay support number and talked to a nice lady who said that the charges would be refunded within 7-10 business days. I told her that she might want to leave a note with her management explaining that EI Interactive has acted very questionably since their acquisition of Horizons. I told her, "I'm sure that iPay doesn't want to be associated with a company that is committing fraud." I would STRONGLY, STRONGLY recommend that no one subscribes to this game. Do not give these thieves your credit card number! I've read similar stories from many people, some right on this forum. These EI clowns are nothing but crooks... They will obviously try to sneak payments through even months after you think you are in the clear. I would also suggest that anyone who has subscribed to Horizons in the past do a thorough lookover of their credit statements... you might just find a nasty surprise. |

Hardcore MMO?????? Are there any out there or coming out?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 10/26/06 1:34:42 PM
It's hardly a new MMO, but if you haven't played FFXI, it may offer the challenge you are looking for.
I haven't been playing it long, but it reminds me of classi EQ1 in some ways. The death penalty actually hurts and soloing is tough or near impossible for some classes. You have to complete quests to unlock level caps or access certain areas and items. It definitely has a larger learning curve than WoW or EQ2. |

Stratics Thread
One of the great scourges of UO will be corrected in the new client and updated graphics. NO MORE NEON! And there was much rejoicing. |

Hi everyone,
I've played UO to death. I've tried Ashen Empires but the community is pretty bad and sparse at that (sorry for the generalization to the nice AE players).... I'm looking for another isometric 2D MMO along those lines... here's what I like (in no particular order) 1) PvE (don't care about PvP... I'm too old for that crap) 2) Preferably skill based as opposed to level based 3) Housing would be nifty but not required 4) Crafting and resource gathering 5) Good community, roleplaying (at least, not so many KewlD00dz) 6) Decent population (I'm not looking for thousands or even hundreds on simultaneously) I don't care too much about graphics as long as the client plays well and the game is deep... As long as the graphics are at least 8-bit Nintendo-ish quality, I'll be happy. I'm also not afraid of a subscription fee. Anyone have any suggestions? |

Isenthrax, why do you come barging in the thread challenging the guy's playstyle? Who cares how he likes to play, he asked a simple question and if you don't have anything productive to add, then don't post. You're just trolling. In other words: Get off your high horse. This topic has been discussed to death in endless threads on endless forums. People have different playstyles... that's why there's room for more than one MMO in the market. Anyways, to get ON topic... I would agree that EQ2 would be a decent choice. You could also try Ultima Online (Seige Perilous shard) or Ashen Empires if you want to keep with the top-down perspective. Both games have been around a while, but there's good players who'll help you get started in both. Good luck! |

Ultima Online: EA Mythic to Have Positive Effect
News Discussion « General Discussion 6/30/06 10:16:21 PM
This is just another case of EA mistreating it's customer base. They've been building up the Inu event and this supposed Revolutionary Announcement for months now. Then, the night before it's supposed to go down, they post a quick little line saying that they're delaying both with no ETA.
Usually this means EA has canned something. I'm sick of the way this company treats their fans. I've played since beta testing in '96 and have sufferend through a lot of unnecessary bullshit from a lot of unnecessary Producers... but I had more faith in the current dev team. For them to pull the same crap as usual. Screw it, subscription is CANCELLED. |
