The way the zones are set up is especially uninspiring. Not only are they smallish, but there is only a tiny portion of it set aside for RvR. Oh, and no player housing? No thanks.
In fact, I'm kinda pissed I bought into the hype. Paul Barnett is a great personality and he hyped this game to the max. But it's just not fun to play.

I actually think that Godager probably played WAR beta and realised, at that point, just how much of a disaster his own game was and is compared with the competition.

Maybe some people dont think, thats of course possible, though in this case thats not it.  What is IT, is the fact that most of what is printed on the AOC box from launch, remains to be added to the game 4 months later.  Who cares about Quad Core support when the game lacks content, lag free play, the ability to play for hours without crashing, the ability to keep groups together, a world where the zone arent instanced which makes forming groups maddening! I mean what about DX10? ? ? It was promised on the box.


Well everyone wanted the game SOON AS POSSIBLE ! there you have ... You dont even think about futur do you prefer a game that gonna be fixed and become the most intereting game from this year. Or put your hope on WoW WOTLK &?????

There is nothing official yet on such a system but I think it's safe to say we are considering it. We do see the concerns in the community for needing it and that is something I have personally taken up with the dev-team in relation. If we receive any additional information on something like this then we will of course post it in the announcement section of the forums.

When funcom implement the PvP patch we will we have one hell of a game.
After playing WAR it was pretty bland and generic. Combat is slow and  painful at times. Animations seem missing and i was lagging alot in PvP encounters. Graphics are subpar for a game released in this day and age. Mythic, as consumers we deserve more than you can provide. So like numerous others i have cancelled my pre-order of WAR, it was a huge failure in my eyes.

All the information stated in that first link pertained to the all the test server patch notes I listed previous, which, might I add, have had a Sept 10th test server release date attached for quite a few weeks now -

In the second link they are delaying it by just 5 days (because of further testing and correction implementations which can of course all be read about on the test server.

They pulled the test server down yesterday for 1 hour and today for 1 hour to implement some fixes which need that extra testing before getting released next week (weekend testing) one of those additions was patch 2.24

For the record here are are all the patch notes to date, with addition scaled from about a month ago stating most recent on top.

Update Notes Patch 2.24

Massive PVP
* Guard Lieutenant is now a normal boss.
* Guards will now hit for a more normal amount.
* Guards will now take longer breaks during patrols.

GUI
* A brief tutorial regarding PvP leveling has been added.

ITEMS
* Each of the three tiers of the bricks, girders, ornaments, and planks will now cost 10 resources each. (changes to cost from previous patch 2.13 are reverted) << as you can see from feedback in a healthy test server community.

PVP
* PvP XP diminishes linearly each time you kill the same player. After 5 kills you will no longer receive PvP XP from killing that player, until the following day.
* PvP XP is now split between all attacking groups and individuals, based on their relative damage.

MINIGAMES
* Diminishing returns on PvP XP no longer applies to players in PvP MiniGames.

Dark Templar
* While running the spell 'Soul Barrier, if you parry, evade, block, or the attacker misses, it will no longer go off your absorb shield.
* Blood for Aid I and III now has the same duration as the the other ranks.

Herald of Xotli
* I Eat Your Heart will now properly heal the Herald after killing a minion.
* I Eat Your Heart will now properly spawn a Blood Pit after killing a minion, with the proper feat trained.

Tempest of Set
* When a player is charmed, he will follow the same rules as other pets (cannot be attacked by you, your team or your raid).

COMBAT
* You can no longer shoot a bow or crossbow while moving.

GUI
* When vieing your Tradeskills and viewing Recipes these windows should now remember their location and no longer open to their default location after closing and reopening them.
* PvP Minigame win/loss stats now displayed in the GUI
* Added PvP Kills and PvP Deaths fields to the player info window.

TRADEPOST
* Updated the mail text gotten from the Tradepost.
* It is now possible so search for items using Item Rarity.
* Added Times out column to the Search results list on tradepost.
* Added Times out field to the Item tooltip on tradepost.

TRADESKILLS
* Gems can no longer be added to items from bank or guild bank. Only from the backpack and tradeskill inventories.
* All tradeskill bows should have 20 meter base range. Additional range are added as item modifications.

ITEMS
* Adjusted the sell prices on the PvP Items.
* Fixed a bug with the Bloodcrest Bracers making the lower arm transparent.
* Fixed layering issue with the male Tasset of the Martial Paragon. This should be fixed on all tiers of armor for the Conquerer.
* Fixed a bug with the Hammersteel bracers making the lower arm transparent.
* Fixed a bug with the Dark Templars Chestguard of the Wicked (PvP Armor) that would make holes in your character.
* PVP shield Skirmisher's Sanctum and Skirmisher's Great Shield have had their shininess toned down, they no longer look like they are glowing.

MOUNTS
* Using your mount as a weapon should no longer gain bonuses from effects that were intended to only affect the player. As an example a Assassin "ordering" it's horse to bite someone should no longer deal poison damage if Poison Stance is active.
* Characters jumping while moving on horseback will no longer freeze when they land if they let go of the movement keys before landing

NPCS/MOBS
* The player city guides will no longer give you the option to teleport to your guild city if you are not in a guild.
* Drunken Pirates have had their bandanas personally fitted for their heads.
* PvP Vendors can be found in Lion's Market of Old Tarantia. There are shops in Khemi and Conarch Village where you can find the PvP Vendors as well.
* The NPC's Adofo and Abasir have no longer the use gear icon on them when the user hovers over them.
* The quest NPCs Sheana, Raelina and Fendaen will now display quest markers when they have available quests.
* Have placed a new mob in Khemi called Recruiter Nadik that will teleport players to a pvp area.
* Yakhmar now casts "Blizzard" and no longer steals spells from Kylikki.
* The Gurnakhi Honorguard should no longer randomly reset.
* Asapon will now correctly spawn at all times outside the Atlantean Cave.


MASSIVE PVP
* If under attack while you have the Shield of the Risen active, out of combat regeneration and resting are no longer interrupted. This stops a griefing technique where spawn campers could stop you regenerating.
* Defending guild mercenaries can no longer gain points by killing attacking players.
* The new Channel "Siege Scores" will display point gain in siege combat.
* Siege weapons are now immune from fatalities.
* Building points gained by mercenaries will be rewarded to attacking guild as intended in the first place.
* Attacking siege buildings with melee/ranged or unarmed will show correct damage on the client.
* Changed the Ballista to use the correct spell.
* Changed the Ballista Hit spell to not hit players.

PVP

* Conall's Valley - The Lurking Horror: Quest now has a waymarker leading to the Spider Cavern.

GENERAL
* Fixed the random seed on characters for animations
* Pressing ESC to abort a fatality will not make it appear that your opponent is dead anymore
* Fixed several client crashes and asserts
* When creating a new character you should no longer see lots of spam messages about gaining abilities etc after the cut scene at tortage beach is over.
* Path of Asura will now display where you are bound to.
* Servers with High Load should no longer show in server selection.
* The modified damage multipler in various tooltips now shows up with percent values, as intended.
* At times reapplied buffs would show 2 icons, this has now been fixed.
* Shield of the Risen is not given to new characters until they reach level 5.
* Added the 3 PvP regions to the worldmap.
* Sound system was optimized, lessening memory usage and improving performance.
* Improves sound output during massive battles.
* Fixed action animations playing on equipped weapons as well (for bow animations, in particular)

CLASSES
* All Channeling spells now use mana, even if it is a small amount...

Soldier (General)
* You should no longer be able to charge corpses.

Priest (General)
* Vindicator will no longer be removed when the Priest dies.

Rogue (General)
* Fixed being able to get a double sneak attack/mezz shot from stealth.
* Mountaineer will no longer be removed when the Rogue dies.

Assassin
* When executing From the Darkness in stealth, you should now properly leave stealth.
* Clarified the tooltip and combat log for the Blindside ability to show that the target is the one losing the stamina specified.

Barbarian
* Rampaging Horde now works for any class nearby, not just Barbarians. Description has been updated to reflect this.
* Rampaging Horde will now increase in duration based on the number of feat points invested. The duration is now 12/15/18/21/24 seconds per respective rank.

Bear Shaman
* Iron Hide will now properly absorb all damage from the next hit inflicted on the Bear Shaman.

Demonologist
* Your permanent pets will now follow you when you zone, and if they are alive when you die, will reappear when you resurrect. Temporary pets do not follow you when zoning, nor reappear after your death.
* Shrink now has a new icon.
* Fixed an issue with a certain rank of Soul Spikes giving twice as much Magic Shielding value.

Herald of Xotli
* You should no longer move like in slow motion when exiting demon mode while moving.

Necromancer
* Your permanent pets will now follow you when you zone, and if they are alive when you die, will reappear when you resurrect. Temporary pets do not follow you when zoning, nor reappear after your death.
* The spell Misdirection will now display an On Screen message when trying to cast when no targets are in range.

Priest of Mitra
* Channeling spells now use correct amount of mana when they are percentage of mana cost

Ranger
* Incapacitating Stabs I now has a new icon.

COMBAT
* Fixed a bug where, if your current target went into hiding, you wouldn't be able to target him again when he reappeared until you'd targeted something else in the meantime.
* You can no longer go into hiding while fighting a much lower level NPC.
* Combo timers are now adjusted to not time out when the server lags.
* Added possiblity for unarmed players and pets to crit.
* Cannot charge a player/npc that is already charging someone else.
* Fixed the break on damage% for spells. For example, The Immolate Combo does a fear effect that should break on chance of damage.

GUI
* Combo/Ability Tooltip titles are no longer blue, and are back to grey.

* Mounts should now properly deal siege damage. Horses are also doing siege damage, but rhinos and mammoths will still be a bit more efficient.
* All attacks from siege mounts should do siege damage (including normal arrow attacks)

NPCS/MOBS
* The player city guides will no longer give you the option to teleport to your guild city if you are not in a guild.

I personally have submited bug reports to log in some 8-12 hours later to see it had already been hotfixed.  So play the beta, actually contribute and help polish something with great potential and retract your bogus statement once you realize Mythic is on top of their shit compared to most other companies.



Bullshit, they've known about these bugs, it's been in beta for a year. I'm talking the "You can not attack npc" bug and the graphics but when you do a special move how it lags and jumps all around, and the bug where the boss lands on the treasure chest and blocks anyone from getting loot....or sometimes party questing bugging out and making us wait 10+ minutes for it to restart...
 
I'm sure they've known about these bugs. None the less, I'll go ahead and go report em. Really think they know already though.


There the beta open world will be there for you tester for all the futur month ! ;)

By the way this game was really amazing only missing content and some easy fix ... well its still better than a new graphic engine, new balancing, new concepte, new scenario, new pvp game, story need to be more accurate .. hum,... well that song need more tweak than ... and unrealisable...

I still can't wait to get in, here's my problem. I preorder the game 2 weeks ago and download it, takes some time during the night but that's fine. After it downloads, I go to install and patch and it won't let me patch. I can't login the server until open beta comes, oh boy.
 
Now let me ask you a question. A lot of us are having problems with patch errors and what not. Why couldn't they have opened up the live servers a few days earlier and let us make sure our donwload was good etc....I downloaded from Direct2drive AND IT SEEMS LIKE anyone that downloaded earlier now has problems with their download. Oh what's the errror I'm getting? Files missing. Atleast in most games when that happens you can CHECK FILES AND IT ACTUALLY FIXES THEM FOR YOU, NOT EA MYTHIC. I'm beyond pissed at the lack of effort put into this open beta start. They didn't think. WHY THE FUCK would you leave the servers to go live when open beta starts. You should have let us patch for a few days now before open beta. Then you wouldn't have a million people trying to patch, then you wouldn't have people with errors redownloading the game. AND MAYBE IF CHECK FILES WOULD ACTUALLY CHECK FILES AND FIX THE DAMN INSTALLATION, THEN MAYBE WE COULD BE PLAYING. Oh, I checked files. That did nothing. It just said the error again afterwards and told me to reinstall.
 
I'm not one to usually complain and probably shouldn't have started this, but I feel like some of us have been mistreated, lol. Even though you can say, it's not their fault. In ways, it def. is and is just causing frustration among their players.
 
So now, I sit here downloading FROM DIRECT2DRIVE SINCE I PREORDERED and it's at 1%....AND ONLY DOWNLOADING AT 300KB / S ...wtf is that shit..usually I'm getting 600+.
Time left: 14 hours...better not be...wow...
 
While my brother who got a free key is already in playing. Awesome, just awesome. Glad our old downloads since we preordered are shit due to some files being updated or some bs which fucked up our old installation files. Idiots over at mythic. I'm already hating on them and I haven't even gotten in the fucking game. Suspense to get in. I went to sleep saying, can't wait to play in the morning! I've been waiting for this day to play for over a year now, and now I find myself downloading the game again for a few more hours.
 
Not to mention, YOU START BETA FOR PEOPLE WHO PREORDERED ON FUCKING SUNDAY, WHAT IS THAT SHIT...hope I get to play today..Jesus..
 
Feels good to vent. Oh and I know what some of you are going to say... "Beta is not for you to try the game, bla bla bla it's for stress testing".....ye ye save the bs....we all know we only hop on to try the game and it's just beyond frustration when you can't learn and play the game and yet have had it installed for 2 weeks. Yet these guys with free keys who installed last night are getting in because the downloads are updated....ye....
 
I can't even IMAGINE having to reinstall from fileplanet, I FEEL FOR U GUYS...WOW...


Well EA by most players is abolish .. and its started when they try to put publicity in the game battlefield 2142 ... after they broke many game like UO...

And there a lot of hate for EA... but this isnt the problem suppose to be mythic the owner .. 8-) huhuhu

just out of curiousity....is it your firewall? have you allowed WAR as an exception for the firewall?

there no firewall in this situation, but nice try.

Restart until you have nice connection who know actually server are certainly busy at max !
