EverQuest 2 should keep you going quite a long time. It's the game I keep going back to.

Originally posted by lovebug I agree. It's a deep game with all aspects covered very well. Classes are solid, crafting is solid, there is a LOT of content. I keep leaving it for the next great thing, but then come back again. It's the best. |

So many old school DAOC players in one place. Lets sound off our name/server. Maybe reconnect with old pals

Originally posted by Dirkin That's good to know. How much are they in the cash shop, and (roughlly) how hard is accumulating the gold? You have me interested enough to be downloading the game. |

Originally posted by William12 From their site: "Items that aren't equippable by Free players are labeled in game as "Gold membership required." These items can be individually unlocked for Free players by purchasing an Unlock Item potion from our in-game Marketplace." My question is: do you HAVE to pay money to unlock the items, or can you unlock them in-game, somehow? If so, how? |

Originally posted by Scummyman I guess it's all opinion. I would say that you might want to re-consider, though. I loved Vanguard, and I've been playing since cassette days, too. :P It's a pretty deep and sweet game. I'm not sure I like their f2p model, but I am hoping I can be convinced. |

Originally posted by birken OK, tell me more. Having to unlock things item by item has kept me away from Vanguard, which I loved. Are unlocks available for gold? How are the unlocks obtained by the people who put them up for auction? Do they drop in game? |

Supply and Demand. Sub prices have to drop.

$15 a month is too much for me. Not because it's so much money, but I move from game to game, and hate paying $15 a month for nothing. Right now I can play GW2, TLS, BL2, and LotRO without paying a monthly fee. That will keep me going a while.

What's your favorite class in all MMORPG games?

Warden in LotRO before all the changes. Now ... not so much.

Insanely positive reviews? Am I missing something here...
Reviews & Impressions « Guild Wars 2 10/19/12 10:45:23 AM
As has been pointed out, some people won't like GW2, and you may be one. However, there were factual errors in your post, so you might want to reconsider. You can't outlevel any content. and You don't get all your skills by level 5. Other than that, if you don't like it, I'd find another game. Personally, I love it. |

X-COM: Enemy Unknown was the first, and my favorite game of all time X-COM: Terror from the deep was like a cheap knock-off. OK, but not great at all. X-COM: Apocalypse was probably even a better game than the first. If it had been the first, it would have been my favorite all-time. As it is, it's in my top ten. There were other minor games built on the franchise, which I didn't play. I will be watching the new X-COM to see what it is like. I got burned real bad with D3, so I am much mroe cautious buying sequels now. |

[Review] Guild Wars 2: Raising the Bar
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 10/05/12 3:28:40 PM
Originally posted by Randayn I disagree. It seems quite non-linear to me. Other than avoiding areaas too high for me, I have felt free to go wherever I want whenever I want. If avoiding areaas too high for you makes it linear to yu, I guess we have different definitions of linear. |

Am I the only one that misses leveling over years?

Originally posted by coretex666 I agree. I miss DAoC, but probably couldn't play like that any more. It's time has passed for me. |

I honestly don't understand the issue. If you don't like the game, stop playing. It was designed in a particular way, and the entire game seems to me to be built to a consistent philosophy. (Do what you want - we won't stop you.) I love it and will play it a long time. If you don't, find a game you like and play that.

GW2 The most unsocial MMO I have ever played
General Discussion « Guild Wars 2 9/13/12 11:43:13 AM
People are helping me out all the time. Rezzing me if I need it, jumping in to help me with a mob, forming ad-hoc groups to assault tough areas. Very friendly. They don't talk too much, but then I don't either. Mostly because I am having too much fun to type. :P

Yet, I would probably still find it fun. I'd guess you didn't. I guess it's not a game for you, but is one for me. :) |
