I have a strong feeling SW:TOR will be just like most other Bioware games - excellent story and dialog, with bland and generic gameplay. Just like Mass Effect. IMO, the only great games Bioware ever made were Baldur's Gate 1 and 2.

I hope I'm wrong.

Edit: I just watched the IGN gameplay clip, and it just further reaffirms my statement. Very nice cinematic conversations, but it's supposed to be a game, not a movie. I want to play my games, not watch them. If I want cinematic conversations and full voice dialog, I'll watch a movie.

You are much better served by having a PC game pad which has an analog stick...

Umm, the Xbox 360 controller has 2 analog sticks, and works perfectly with the PC.

As far as how the game works well with controllers, makes sense considering the game is being developed for Xbox 360 as well as PC.

Bionut, was the Xbox360 controller recognized automatically by the game, or did you have to map the buttons with the controller software? I tried using my Logitech Rumblepad, but it was not recognized by the game at all.

OK, turning off the "Comic-style outlining" in the options makes a world of difference. With that off, the graphics are FANTASTIC, especially once you leave the beginning tutorial area. They should have that option off by default, or at least notify people upon first starting the game about disabling it. I got a feeling that quite a few people may not know about that setting, and my be put off be the graphics initially.

And I've changed my mind about not playing it... this game grows on you like hair.

You CANNOT turn off cell shading. Cell shading is a graphic style that the game's graphics use, and it can't be "turned off". What can be turned off is the 'comic book outline', which gives the game less of a 'comic book' look, but that is NOT cell shading.

People need to stop confusing these two.

i personally turn the cell shading off since i'm not a fan of it.

You can't "turn cell shading off", the games graphics are cell shaded. What you probably turned off is the "comic book outline", which gives the game less of a "comic book" look, but that's not cell shading.

Personally, the main reason I won't be playing this game is because of the cell shading. I can't stand it.

There is dueling as well.

Aion = PvP focused game with shit ass PvE.  Hmmm... sounds like Warhammer all over again.

I have zero interest in Aion because I fucking can't stand silly Asian games.

The OP is upset about being charged the monthly sub amount after the first free month? He must be new to MMOs. Because this is the way EVERY SINGLE subscription based MMO works.

Noob.

Leveling is too fast now, IMO.

I have had more social interaction in LoTRO than in any other MMO I've ever played, so I'm not sure what the OP is getting on about.

OP... try playing past level 10.

Until then i would like to see if anybody has screenshots of the raid sets and information on where do they drop from or are they crafted.

All you could possibly want to know or see right here.

Got to the "Armor Sets" section.

you need to run the game in xp service pack 2 mode if using vista just right click the lotro icon and select xp mode close then run the game select the dx10 option that's it..

No, no, no. DX10 is completely disabled in XP compatibility mode.

Still can't run it as a trial account.

I wasn't aware of this. So... if you're running a trial account, there's the answer.

The high res client has nothing to do with DX10. The high res client just contains the high resolution (Very High setting) textures that can be used with DX9 or DX10. All versions of the client include DX10. If you can't enable DX10, and you are using Vista or Win7 (no DX10 on XP), then there is an issue with your system. Try reinstalling DX10.

Love how people jump to conclusions. Note that nowhere does it say, nor was it ever stated that Mark was fired. It is quite possible he left on his own out of disgust for EA.

The PvE in WAR is simply the most boring, linear, and easy PvE I've ever had the misfortune to experience. The PVP leaves a lot to be desired as well, but the PvE is absolutely atrocious.

Edit: Oh, and the crafting sucks.

Once again EA the destroyer of game companies rears its ugly head....*sigh*

When will companies learn to stay away from them.

??? Umm, Mythic and Bioware were already both owned by EA for years.

Estimates place it at around 300,000 active subs.

LOL @ 1 million subs. You must be joking.

But how does any of this matter? Try the game. Play it if you like it. Or don't.

Of course your characters will still be there, exactly as you left them. MMOs don't delete characters. Every cancelled subscription is a potential returning customer. Destroying that potential by deleting accounts/characters would be a very stupid business decision on their part.

Meneldor is the best all-around server, IMO. A very healthy population, and a great community. Many great kinships, too.
