Apparently this other worldly intelligence  developed eyes that "look" very much like our own.

Thankyou very much for the input.

They are selling the rights, but also collecting royalties.   It sounds like a great arrangement to me.

I'm in the same boat.   I'm very bored with mmorpgs right now.   I went on a short vacation, came back and had no desire to log onto EQ2 again.   I had so many quests to "clean up" that it started to feel like a chore... subscribed to vangaurd (still am) and can't even run that game on my current rig.

I have had fun with:

Supreme commander (although the frame rates are so bad even on low settings that it runs more like a turn based strategy game!)

Command & Conquer 3 (absolutely stunning graphics and it runs fantastic on my elderly computer.

I've also been spending alot of time researching computer parts and systems as I am ready to replace my current one.

If you could, please stop by and answer this poll for me, I'm trying to get at least 50 responses:

Graphics are awesome and I'm loooov'n it.    And I'm not talking the platonic kind of love...i'm talking the full blown wine and dine get out the condoms kind of love.   Its actually been quite messy.

I've got an old rig (4.5 years old) with a geforce 7800 GS (4x agp), northwood p4 3.06 and 1 gig of rambus (1066)

and it runs like a CHAMP!   (default settings were "HIGH!")

Great action action all the way around.   I recommend it... definately.

Most tech magazines and tech sites review computer systems.   Some systems are submitted for review with the integrator knowing the system will be featured in a review.   Some sites purchase the unit anonymously and review it that way.

What is your opinion on this subject?

I would very much like to see the reasons for your answers...

Thankyou very much

Val

I loved Mech Warrior (3), it was my first online PC addiction.

They have what appears to be something very similar to a madcat on their advertisment here on this page.

Anyone played this game?

8800GTS 320mb (overclocked by factory)

2gb ddr2 667mhz memory (kingston)

19inch flat monitor! ^_^

320gb samsung HD

dont remember the mobo :(

I wouldnt buy a 5200.  You'll be SEVERLY bottlnecking your system with  your Gcard and RAM.  You'll regre it.

Upgrade to a 6400....its only 50 more bucks and you wont get a bottlenecking effect with your gcard

I don't mind since im not such a hardcore gamer =P
Core 2 duo e6600 is a great processor (great price) right now.    I agree with Enigma.   You are handicapping your rig with that processor.

integrated graphics = very poor gaming

(unless you enjoy games like minesweeper and hearts)

Also you are getting Vista premium with just one gig of ram (eek).

I would avoid Vista for another 6 months to a year.  Vista in its current state reduces performance.

if you need a pre-made on a budget (can't / won't  build your own)  Might I suggest...

If you have the problems you described in your original post, and you have the hardware that you claim,  please...post on...and dont play on my server in any mmorpg.

Just knowing you are playing on a server is enough for me to avoid that server... regardless of any hardware issues.

I decided to log on today and patch the game and read some of the patch notes... The very first one made me chuckle a bit.

Vanguard Build 1778 Patch Notes 3/13/2007

GAMEPLAY NOTES
- Aggro NPCs that can see invis will now attack if you move near them.
- Aggro NPCs that cannot see invis will no longer attack if you move very close to them.

Doh!

I'll probably dive in again in a couple months and give it a try.

I highly recommend you start a character in Kelethin so you can see Faydwer.   It is a very well done expansion.

For me, EQ2 is probably the best boring game ever made.

It's a great game for questers, as long as they don't mind repeating the same quests alot because some of them can be quite competetive.

It's a great game for people who like to customize but who don't mind looking like everyone else.

It's a great game for adventuring, so long as you don't mind finding anything exciting or inspiring.

It's a great game for Raiding, so long as you know it's not all that much fun.

See where I'm going with this, it's a great game, it's just not that great??? It does many things well, just none of them are all that interesting. They went the safe way with almost everything, which means that at first the game is insanely good and lots of fun, over time it fizzles and just seems drawn out and a chore to play.

It lacks any sort of motivation, the story line is completely still and never involves you in what could be the most amazing lore ever made for any game. It's always seemed completely confusing to me that the EQ2 team has this amazing story going on and yet, never do a damn thing with it.

Anyways, IMHO, EQ2 deserves all the kudos it gets, just a shame they never went out of their way to do anything really great with the game.

You should be a polititcian.

I don't know how much you spent, but the EoF package cost me 40 bucks.   It included everything (minus a few "adventure packs").

EoF is really where I spend most of my time.    EoF is why I play the game.

For me, everything out of EoF is just icing on the cake.

So, I guess in my opinion you have just bought a package of frosting.

I think you should get  EoF a.s.a.p.

Just my personal opinion and is not binding in anyway.
