I didn't detect any arrogance.

A turd doesnt keep someone playing with it for a year and a half.

Yep.  He must like playing with poo.

Screw the xbox...looks like she thrashed a perfectly good 3 wood.

The model it creates in the example is totally unusable in a game engine.  Far  too many polys for such a simple shape, making it a memory hog.  I can build that house in minutes anyway, with a fraction of the polys.  So how exactly does it speed up the process?  I don't see it.  The textures are the time consuming part anyway and it doesn't CREATE textures.

"Totally" unusable?  What?  Doesn't create textures?  huh?

I'm shocked there are no posts here.

In my experiences, I've enjoyed subscription based games much more than f2p games (with micro transactions).

This is a brilliant idea.

I love WoW.    It is fun, funny, polished, huge and has something for almost everybody.

I can't wait!

I discovered Atriarch spring of 2002.    In fact... I excitedly signed up for the beta.   That was 8.5 years ago.   Any "new" idea they spoke of then is no longer new.    Out of curiosity I come back to this forum periodically just to see if MMORPG.Com has taken it off their list yet.

This post is ridiculous enough without it being from an account with... "one post".

I fully understand how dynamic EvE is and how catastrophic such changes would be to the current player base.

No, you don't understand anything. This is not about playerbase, EVE would simply not work without death penalty and PVP.

I concede that EvE would not work in the same way it does now.  I'll even say that it would be come a very different game.

But I disagree with you that it would simply "not work" and that  I "don't understand anything" .

I've played the game (a lot).  I started 3 days after launch.   At one time I was running 4 accounts.   Two accounts date back to June 2004.   I remember the gate camps by the dreaded corp "MoO".     I remember Moa's were the best ship you could buy.   I remember when they introduced battleships.   I've quit and resubbled 4 separate times since launch.

Its a great game.

Obviously... if the death penalty was reduced/removed and PvP was to become more restricted... there would probably have to be other changes to the game to make it more viable.  It would undoubtedly become a very different experience then it is now.

I'll reiterate what I said in my original post.   My desire is not for EvE to change its ruleset on the existing cluster, but rather to start another cluster with a ruleset aimed at the less "hardcore" .   I fully understand how Empire space works.

Its really a yes or no answer.

WoW did not kill MMO's  BUT...

Video killed the radio star.   Also...I shot the Sheriff but I did NOT shoot the deputy.

While I disagree with your "Eve Light" idea  I do wish CCP would release an Eve single player game. I love the Eve lore and environment but the Eve community is the worst out of every mmo I've played. I would gladly pay $15 a month to play a Eve single player.

Edit: Also I think the op means "Eve Lite".  Lite meaning an innocuous or unthreatening version of Eve Online

Yes.  I  did in fact mean "lite"  not "light".   Thankyou.

And I very much like your idea for an EvE single player game...PACKED full of the ships and crazy loot that is available in the online version.

I've heard freelancer is a good game I might give that a try.

Based on the responses I got here I'll abandon my hopes for an EvE 'lite'.

Farm Teens

I mostly love EvE and have played it intermittently since launch.   Many would say the reason EvE is so popular with its fans is the open PvP and the death penalty.   Ironically, some could argue that is the reason why EvE is NOT as popular as some of the more successful MMO's (past and present).

I don't expect (nor do I want) ccp to ever change EvE to cater to my carebear ways.   I fully understand how dynamic EvE is and how catastrophic such changes would be to the current player base.

But as I  get older and more  mellow I find my appetite for pvp is almost nil.  Last time I enjoyed any type of PvP online was Mechwarrior 3 (I went through 3 sidewinder joysticks!).     In WoW I made it to lvl 70 without a single honor kill (currently lvl 80 and have roughly 60 honor kills ...PHEAR ME!).

WoW has "pvp" servers.   I know ccp's single server cluster is expensive as all hell, but I wonder if they have ever considered starting a new "cluster" with a different rule set that might cater to players young and old who enjoy PvE over PvP.

(edit: changed "light" to "lite" in the subject heading.

AVG antivirus  (love it)

Ccleaner  for cleaning up temp files and crap (even has a decent registry cleaner)

Ad-aware (anti-spyware)

Defraggler (great defrag'n app)

Malwarebytes (anti-spyware/malware)

Spybot search and destry (anti-spyware)

ALL FREE.

I can't remember the last time I paid for any of this type of stuff.

I'm guessing you are NOT Korean.

The only thing that hasn't changed since 2004 is the mind numbing rants about the state of MMO's.

I think its brilliant.   Ozzy, through his music and reality show has remained relevent.   His WoW spot was very popular.     He is undead!

I used too a couple of years ago but I now lack the patience. Getting 25-40 people through a raid is an act of futility. You always have 3-4 people afk without telling the raid leader - attending kids/babies, gone for a smoke or top up the Jack Danials - 2-4 other are constantly dueling and not paying attention and 3-4 more either can't follow simple instructions or don't know how to play there class. You always get people who turn up late which means the raid start late resulting in people who need to finsih by a certain time leave early. People never brings consumables (pootions/elixirs/buff food), rangers/hunters forget arrows or bullets or they have there pet on aggressive and agro the whole dungeon.
So, why don't you raid anymore?

I really just want to quote you and leave, but you forgot to add that it is boring as hell.
