I've always pictured magic to be kind of like that. Originally posted by Roughshod

Originally posted by ParinoidPanda Good point. It certainly fits most movies and novels that use magic this way then the traditional MMO. Take Harry Potter for instance. Using powerful magic in those stories were extremley taxing on the body leaving the caster very week. This way not only makes it more challenging but provides a way of balancing powerful mages with everyone else. |

The last time Trials of Ascension was in development there was never any details about the magic system which was dissapointing. They actually posted details about it a while ago but I didn't see a post about it on this board. The official forum post about it is here. This system makes magic seem more rare and daring then I have ever seen, which makes it all the more exciting to me. Any thoughts or gripes about it?

In the future Delerious1 take the time to make a post like the one 2 above mine in the first place. |

SWTOR: not the whipping boy you are looking for

Originally posted by Brenelael I find that the journey is more important to me then the end game as well, however I believe that the end game also needs to be interesting. If the endgame is not fun then it doesn't matter how interesting the journey is as people will only play until they reach endgame. I do find the journey to be quite interesting in SWTOR despite the problems and if I don't like the game when I reach end game it will still have been worth playing for the fun on the way there. |

Originally posted by Delerious1 This post tells me almost nothing about why you hate the game. The comment about optimization almost tells me something but lacks any sign of intelligent research. The one comment that actually tells me something is about the pvp gear grind at level 50. If you are going to take the time to post why a game sucks take the time to do it write and make an intelligent post that includes factual details that someone can actually use to make an intelligent decision. Posts like this that tell us nothing just serve to start another pointless bashing thread. |

Star Wars Galaxies: Story of the Week: Star Wars Comes and Goes

While SWG was one of the best MMO's in my opinion it's important to note the word "WAS". Even with the nge changes it could have still been a good game but the population was spread out on way too many servers and the economy has been in a joke for some time. It was a good game but I said goodbye a long time ago when it lost the interest of too many players to have the same community feel it used to. On a side note swtor may have a lot of aspects found in wow but it has a completley different feel to it and for me that really the most important thing. I do expect guild wars 2 to to take most of my attention when it comes out. |

Xsyon is a good game for crafting. There is combat but the main basis of the game is around crafting and design of your city. The economy is all player run and the game is designed in way that the economy is an integral part of the game. They are about to stop taking preorders which allows you to play now. The official release is set for about 2.5 months from now. |

The description you gave describes just about any mmo out there, except the size of the game. If you are looking for a free mmo then I would recomend lord of the rings online. It takes up a little more space than you specified but even with your computer and connection it should run find on your computer. It may just take a while to initially download the game. The chatting system is easy to use as it is in every mmo I have tried and there is people on just about anywhere. I didnt like rappelz that much so I cant really say if the combat system is similar but I enjoy it. I don't really play any subscription games atm so I cant really say which ones have players on everywhere. You would think that wow is like that with all the players but in my experiance the low level areas may not always have players. |

That entire post sounds like you are trying to convince other people to start playing rift. I'm sure that alone was enough but the link to there site just made it look even more like you were trying to get people to switch games. |
