2. Turn autofacing off because is it sooo hard to ask for people to manually face their target?

OK so you turn friendly collision off, then you have 10 blackorcs all stand where 2 or 3 normally would be in a choke point.  One goes down, there's still another there, but you couldn't target him due to there being the other one right on top of him.  Not to mention there's a push through thing where if you were healed after a few seconds you'd make it through the line, but you have to make it through several black orcs instead of one.

Too many things that could be exploited by turning friendly collision off.  If they turn friendly off they'd have to turn enemy off.

Is there any server that Order is leading or even balanced with Destro?

Order is owning the heck out of Volkmar as far as I can tell.  I think think you'll find some that are balanced, and some where one side is winning more.  It just depends on the server really.

Oh no doubt the support for WAR is the shittest for any MMO i have ever played hands down.

However as stated I did get the problem fixed the day I made the post, I had to do it all on my own, because also as stated the support for War is H O R R I B L E !!!

If the issue was with the EADM, then how is the support for Warhammer the game shitty?  I've had nothing but fast responses when submitting things in-game about the game, and not about the EADM that they have no control over.

So I think what you meant to say is "EA has the worst support for their download manager ever" :p

Hell after 700+ votes it's still 8.93 on the mmorpg rating.  I was surprised by that as much as the votes on this poll.

There's definitely a ton of content packed into the maps (which can make them seem small), but if you try to just run across a map, you'll see that they're actually pretty big zones.

Some of the areas can seem claustrophobic due to changes in the terrain, forests, etc. but once you branch out and get accustomed with each zone, you'll start to see paths and areas you hadn't noticed before.

Once you start exploring you can find yourself a long way from the main road.

No this isn't an open world.  The path through the world is very linear.  You will go along the road you see on the map which will lead you to the next map of the same tier.  Each map is about 5 levels of advancement through a fairly linear series of quests.  This is broken up by PQ quests, Senerios where you do pvp battleground like things.  Each pair of maps also has a section in the middle where you can do RvR for strategic points on the map.

I think people should start straying off the roads.  There's a lof of things to find off the beaten path.  There are several PQs for every chapter, and you're only lead directly to one, maybe two of them.

I stumbled on a PQ marked "difficult" after straying off the path in Greenskin Chapter 2.  I would have never known it was there without wandering a bit.  There are areas like this in every area it seems, and I would definitely suggest not letting the game lead you by the hand.

Go exploring, there are things to find. :p

We have never advertised the guaranteed Open Beta access of the CE pre-order program to be a unique one-time offer. It is understandable that enthusiastic fans perceived it this way, however, and in hindsight, underlining that there will be other means to gain Open Beta access could have helped creating more realistic expectations from our CE customers.

As the name suggest, the Collector's Edition is made with collectors in mind. One cannot collect Open Beta or Head start access, but one can collect miniatures and other unique WAR merchandise. If you don't value that which is the essence of any Collector's Edition - collectables - rather than insinuating that you have been deceived you should ask yourself why you bought a product which you were clearly not very interested in anyway.

Regarding Beta. Yes, we have promised Open Beta access and we are giving this. The launch has not gone as we, nor our players were hoping it would. Whereas we are very sorry for this and doing our outmost to get Open Beta on the right track, these sort of problems are to be expected with a beta. This is, after all, a large scale test. From these experiences, we will be able to identify and rectify many problems we could not have detected through small scale testing.

how the hell do any of these guys have a job or are allowed to actively talk to the community when everytime they do so is in a condesending manner

Please excuse me but ...hes a fucking moron! Honestly go make some french pancakes or something and let someone responsible do your job ...what a twat!

Seems professional, to the point, and he apologizes for their screwups.  I fail to see the smugness or why he's a moron?

I read it expecting something similar to what the Funcom devs would write, and it just comes across as an explanation and an apology to me.

Come on now WAR, thats something only asian grinders would do.

Thoughts on if they changed it?

It's been this way for almost 2 years.  It's not going to change.  Just like there's no male option for Witch Elves.

50+ servers within the 1st 3 months is going to be no problem.. then again.. I do intend to over speculate..

Aren't there around 12-15 servers up now?  And it's not even Open Beta??  Considering only 50k SE subs got into the Preview Weekend, i think they'll be at 10-30 just during Open Beta just for the influx of all the other SE subs.

My brother mentioned this to me already, but I don't have the option.  I only created my account today.  I wonder if it itakes a while for the link to validate to show up for us... because it certainly hasn't yet for me.

When you create your account in your confirmation email it has the validate link.

The link on the site only comes up if you haven't had a validation email for 24 hours. :p

My only hesitation about the game is that there's so many vastly different aspects to it, that I see it either having one of two outcomes.

A.  Everything is inches deep.

B. The population on a server is so spread out between them that nothing truly feels epic.

If they somehow manage to overcome the "if it's too good to be true, it probably is" logic then I'll be playing the game.

I preordered from EA back on July 18th, expecting my beta codes to be emailed to me. Apparently EA mails out their beta codes in the actual mail system, how stupid is that? Being in the military, I could end up getting my codes 6 weeks after its done and over with, lol.

I preordered the CE from EA and got my codes emailed to me a few months afterwards.  (I preordered about a week after it was announced though)

I'm pretty sure you'll be emailed your codes.  You should call and check into that.

OH WAIT!!!!

No one knows if all these features will be in the game at release!

OH WAIT!!!

No one knows if they will be working IF they are in.

OH WAIT!!!!

All we've seen so far is a pretty video showing some fun PVP and SNIPPETS of a FEW of the other promised features. Don't scream so loud how revolutionary DF will be until the game is actually here with everything the Developers promised.

It's been feature complete since last year. Everything since then has been closed beta testing to make sure that everything works. We've had proof on a variety of levels.

I don't think you understand what feature complete means.  If the game had been feature complete last year, it would have released last year.

Feature Complete means that all of the features are in the game and working as intended.  Not just that they "exist."

I'm not saying that everything they claim is in the game isn't in there.  I"m just saying it's obviously not feature complete otherwise the game would be out.

Closed Beta is where they test what they have in order to make sure that it's working correctly, is fun, actually should be in, etc.

I personally think the game has been in development too long for it to be any good.  It's behind on the times.  If it had come out in 2004 it would have been very impressive.  I just think it's taken them too long to put everything into the game that they wanted.  I think the game would have been better if they would have trimmed the fat so to say.

It looks bloated with too many things to me.  I mean naval combat on top of keep combat, on top of open world combat is going to mean that the playerbase is spread extremely thin.  Not to mention all of those features are probably only a few feet deep.  Had they focused on a few of those huge features instead of trying to do all of them, they could have made them extremely deep and not just feet deep.

To finish off this wall of text.  I do think the game will be a lot of fun, and a lot of people will probably play it, but it won't be a huge success.  And seriously, fix those running animations.  The dwarfs look like they're doing that russian dance where you kick your legs up in front of you.

During Open Beta, there were flight masters at every RVR PVP area. I didn't see them in the cities at all (I think). You couldtravel to other tiers and areas easily.

I think the traveling is well spaced out. Its not like theres a flight master everywhere you go. You can still enjoy the scenery and the environments without thinking you passed a lot of content.

Also, you can walk anywhere within your pairing that's connected to you.  So for instance, you can walk from Dwarf Tier 1 to Orc Tier 1, or from Dwarf Tier 1 to Dwarf Tier 2, etc. etc. anything in your pairing you can and probably will walk to.

You only fly to other pairings and the capital city.  I mean you "can" fly to other zones in your Pairing, but you dont have to.

www.wardb.com  Has every single ability.

Lol, maybe I am paranoid... but I cant forget what EA did to great companies like Origin, Bullfrog and others. For me EA is what for some is SOE, the source of all evil in gaming. If I do them unjust, my bad, but eveything they have their hands in something bad happens. Mark my words.

I mean, seriously, at least the cities were almost ready! How could they not, so close to launch? I admit, its just a feeling, an impression. But when they sell us those 4 cities in some time I can say "I told you so". ;)

No offense, but "everything" EA has it's hands in isn't bad.  Lets just look at the awards they took home from Leipzig:

Best PC Game: Spore

Best XBOX360 Game: Mirror's Edge

Best Wii Game: Skate It

Best Online Game: Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning

Not to mention upcoming games like Left 4 Dead.

I think it's a littel 5-10 years ago that EA did all that shit.  I think they're trying to get their act together honestly.

I mean in the interview with the guys that are making Skate 2 they said it's coming out "When it's Ready."  So no more forced schedules and such.

Each racial pairing is divided into 4 tiers.  These tiers are not seemlessly connected and you will have a small (read 5seconds) load time between them.  These tiers are quite large.  Tier 1 is about as big as the barrens.  Tier 2 is larger than Tier 1.  Tier 3 is larger than Tier 2.  Tier 4 is huge, easily the size of all the previous tiers combined.

The zoning is designed to keep players of various levels seperate, but everyone of that level is in the same place.  So for example in the Tier 1 Chaos v Empire pairing everyone who is in Nordland or Norsca shares the same zone.  Theis is no Norsca 1, Norsca 2, Norsca 3, etc.  You can have hundreds of players in one area at a given time.

Not true.  The tiers are seamlessly connected.  The pairings aren't.

You can travel from Tier 1 HE, to any Tier HE/DE zone just by walking.  But to get to Tier 4 you'd have to walk through Tiers 1 and 2 and 3.

I'm guessing the lairs will only be for party groups of 6 players also?

Lairs are open world.  Essentially you explore, find the lair entrance, figure how to open it, and then go in and kill a really high level mob.

There's a video of someone finding and figuring out a lair at WHA, but I don't know the exact link.  There are a lot of lairs, and they'll take exploration to find.

To give you an idea of the mobs found in lairs, there are normal, champion, and hero mobs.  Heros are of course the really powerful ones.

In a Tier 2 lair that was shown in the video, the mob is a level 30 Hero.  Tier 2 is level 12-21....

So I can't wait to see what drops from those difficult encounters.

There is no "nomination" as companies pay to get recognized in such trade shows. Warhammer was depicted several times in the GC Magazine, so I guess they paid the most to get the title. WotlK got much more attention on the show and their queue was longer, Spellborn was more innovative, Runes of Magic received better coverage and AION and many other titles AFAIK weren't even nominated ;)

ummmm ok.  You said there was no nomination, but then you said that other games weren't nominated...

Also.... There's a Leipzig Games Convention magazine?  Please point me to it, as i can't find it.

My uncle works there, dumbface. And I'm going to start as a periodically trainee next year.

People who claim that the LHC can cause intense problems to the world have absolutely no idea about what they're talking about. This IS NOT the first particle accelerator and also won't be the last. They're only used as an attempt to prove the existence of teorical particles (tauons, muons) that can be observed after the mutual anihilation of some particles and anti-particles (eletrons and positrons, anti-proton neutrino and neutron, etc).

This black hole thing is bullshit, it's way more of an attempt to finally end the standard particle and force schemata theory by seeing if the teorical higgs-boson really exist, and possibly understanding better the relation of the gravity force with the other forces.

Also, small black holes like that can't be dangerous. A small black hole is purely a large amount of mass condensed on a really small area for its mass. Big black holes have absurd mass in a way bigger area, but small black holes are (theoricaly) just a not-so-big amount of mass condensed on a REALLY small area. Those "blackholes" are so small and unstable that they deteriorize within fractions of a second.

I agree with you, as I'm a physicist (degree but no job :( ) But I'm confused as to how you managed to misspell theoretically every single time you wrote it.  lol

No offense, just poking fun. :p
