Two simple changes Mythic needs to make URGENTLY!

One goes down, there's still another there, but you couldn't target him due to there being the other one right on top of him. Not to mention there's a push through thing where if you were healed after a few seconds you'd make it through the line, but you have to make it through several black orcs instead of one. Too many things that could be exploited by turning friendly collision off. If they turn friendly off they'd have to turn enemy off. |

Enlighten Me on Server balance...

If the issue was with the EADM, then how is the support for Warhammer the game shitty? I've had nothing but fast responses when submitting things in-game about the game, and not about the EADM that they have no control over. So I think what you meant to say is "EA has the worst support for their download manager ever" :p |

There's definitely a ton of content packed into the maps (which can make them seem small), but if you try to just run across a map, you'll see that they're actually pretty big zones. Some of the areas can seem claustrophobic due to changes in the terrain, forests, etc. but once you branch out and get accustomed with each zone, you'll start to see paths and areas you hadn't noticed before. Once you start exploring you can find yourself a long way from the main road. |
|
Originally posted by ethion I think people should start straying off the roads. There's a lof of things to find off the beaten path. There are several PQs for every chapter, and you're only lead directly to one, maybe two of them. I stumbled on a PQ marked "difficult" after straying off the path in Greenskin Chapter 2. I would have never known it was there without wandering a bit. There are areas like this in every area it seems, and I would definitely suggest not letting the game lead you by the hand. Go exploring, there are things to find. :p |

Seems professional, to the point, and he apologizes for their screwups. I fail to see the smugness or why he's a moron? I read it expecting something similar to what the Funcom devs would write, and it just comes across as an explanation and an apology to me. |

Darkfall... Everything we ever wanted in a MMO?
General Discussion « Darkfall 9/04/08 10:29:19 PM
My only hesitation about the game is that there's so many vastly different aspects to it, that I see it either having one of two outcomes. A. Everything is inches deep. B. The population on a server is so spread out between them that nothing truly feels epic. If they somehow manage to overcome the "if it's too good to be true, it probably is" logic then I'll be playing the game. |

I don't think you understand what feature complete means. If the game had been feature complete last year, it would have released last year. Feature Complete means that all of the features are in the game and working as intended. Not just that they "exist." I'm not saying that everything they claim is in the game isn't in there. I"m just saying it's obviously not feature complete otherwise the game would be out. Closed Beta is where they test what they have in order to make sure that it's working correctly, is fun, actually should be in, etc. I personally think the game has been in development too long for it to be any good. It's behind on the times. If it had come out in 2004 it would have been very impressive. I just think it's taken them too long to put everything into the game that they wanted. I think the game would have been better if they would have trimmed the fat so to say. It looks bloated with too many things to me. I mean naval combat on top of keep combat, on top of open world combat is going to mean that the playerbase is spread extremely thin. Not to mention all of those features are probably only a few feet deep. Had they focused on a few of those huge features instead of trying to do all of them, they could have made them extremely deep and not just feet deep. To finish off this wall of text. I do think the game will be a lot of fun, and a lot of people will probably play it, but it won't be a huge success. And seriously, fix those running animations. The dwarfs look like they're doing that russian dance where you kick your legs up in front of you. |

Question about travel in Warhammer

So for instance, you can walk from Dwarf Tier 1 to Orc Tier 1, or from Dwarf Tier 1 to Dwarf Tier 2, etc. etc. anything in your pairing you can and probably will walk to. You only fly to other pairings and the capital city. I mean you "can" fly to other zones in your Pairing, but you dont have to. |

Originally posted by Yunbei No offense, but "everything" EA has it's hands in isn't bad. Lets just look at the awards they took home from Leipzig: Best PC Game: Spore Best XBOX360 Game: Mirror's Edge Best Wii Game: Skate It Best Online Game: Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning Not to mention upcoming games like Left 4 Dead. I think it's a littel 5-10 years ago that EA did all that shit. I think they're trying to get their act together honestly. I mean in the interview with the guys that are making Skate 2 they said it's coming out "When it's Ready." So no more forced schedules and such. |

How big is the world compared to WoW?

Not true. The tiers are seamlessly connected. The pairings aren't. You can travel from Tier 1 HE, to any Tier HE/DE zone just by walking. But to get to Tier 4 you'd have to walk through Tiers 1 and 2 and 3. |

Lairs are open world. Essentially you explore, find the lair entrance, figure how to open it, and then go in and kill a really high level mob. There's a video of someone finding and figuring out a lair at WHA, but I don't know the exact link. There are a lot of lairs, and they'll take exploration to find. To give you an idea of the mobs found in lairs, there are normal, champion, and hero mobs. Heros are of course the really powerful ones. In a Tier 2 lair that was shown in the video, the mob is a level 30 Hero. Tier 2 is level 12-21.... So I can't wait to see what drops from those difficult encounters. |
