The main reason FOM failed when they gave it a monthly fee is because that wasn't wall they did to it.   They also took on the philosophy that anything (and I do mean anything) that is causing a problem, however small it may be, should be removed completely until fixed  (however many months fixing will take) or in some cases simply removed completely and never thought of again

Example:  players un able to see weapon while in first person view
Solution: remove First Person view from our mmoFPS

Example: dropping items one some areas of the map results in sinking into the map
Solution: players are un able to drop item without destroying it,  now roleplayers cannot roleplay eating lunch with a meal on a table before them.
combatants cannot create piles of equipment to run to for reload and armor replacements
players can nolonger decorate their apartment's sheves or sort their belongings from room to room, players must now store their items in an equipemnt safe

Developers of FoM, if you do this again, you DESERVE to have your game fail, as with anyone else who does anything by the philosophy of "if it doesn't work, remove it"

or a better question, why do YOU like it?

well let me just say that if you can manage to accomplish the goals you've set for yourselves in the descriptions of how all the elements will be done.  and can bring this world of  resources, conquest, finance and war to life, then I for one would be more than happy to contribute 14 dollars a month to play it and I know many others feel the same way

Clones and Ensurance.  but I really really dislike the idea of your clone being worse every time you resurrect.   people I've shown this game to have said the same thing

how the mech (or whatever other vehicle you might have had) is "ressurected" would/should really depend more on how they are manufactured and distributed,  but I think it would be a little silly if your vehicle "ressurected" along side you

but on a side note. I hope infantry and other vehicles are taken into as much or almost as much consideration as the mechs are.  it's different strenghts working as one that bring a video game battle field to life

AND a different company should take care of it. hell, even if SOE re-did it it would probably be better than it is now. atleast people would play it then

except that none of those are FPS or even 3PS

but too bad eXteel isn't in a persistant world. and what's the point in having a mech game if you can't come out of it and there's nothing smaller than you? you'd might as well just be a steriotypical space marine with alot of armor

Alright, so, I've got some questions for yous guys.  first of all,  let's talk about quests.
How often/when do players get quests? is there a story line? what can you get from them? is there more than one per level? or do you always need to grind pointlessly on random monsters you find in places.
kthx

I really wish someone would set up a pre-milestone server..  or maybe even a revamped pre-milestone server with milestone graphics? :)  (not a requirement though!!,  maybe then Lucy could even put on her pants backwards again)
or even a current version would be ok..  it would be such a shame for such a great game and concept to die completely

the thing about that though, is that it also hasto look like how it would in real life, but cool, maybe some paint chipping, that sort of thing. because really, if you wanted to make it blend in, it's  a computer, you could make it invisable with most likely minimal effort.

lol, greatly anticipated? and also, the image is broken

I don't seem to be able to connect to the update server, when I start up corum online, it seems to be normal, accept the "connect" "cancel" buttons seem to be not in their intended locationthey're farther off in the lower right. and there's a space around those two sides about the same distance off from the main box that just coppys any window I drag over it, or the background behind it.  the download notice appears to be "Client Version [ OPEN07011801]"

if Connect or Cancel worked, I probably wouldn't mind, but they don't, and it doesn't update, so.
no, but maybe you could tell me why YOU agree?

I just came back to the game last night, and I must say, I don't like it
the skill system was one of the things I really liked about flyff. it seems to me they're just trying to make it more like ROSE

that's not really a problem, I've only encountered one invicibility hacker, and that was easily solved by simply leaving the room which he was alone in anyways
my question is plain and simple, why should I play this game? what does it have over all the other free mmorpgs?
woah, now I REALLY don't want to try it

the shiftyness of the free trial was what realy turned me off. I don't remember the precise details so I won't say anything about that.  but take a look for yourself,  if there even is a free trial anymore
$18 A MONTH???? THAT'S REDICULAS!! I thought it said 12!!

I'm really kind of disapointed in that the crews will be NPC,  player manned ships were what I was looking forward to
well I think it's better they vote for last year's winner than for some random game they thought had a cool name and pretty screenshots
