yea i agree that a blind hate for no reason (or a stupid reason) is very silly.. Personally i played guild wars in beta and bought the game, though i didn't play it more than a month after i bought it. i know alot of people still like it and i have no problem with it...

I am not a person without hate for certain mmos developers though.. I am a Ex swg vet and as you all properly know, there are alot of swg vets that are rather upset with SOE, but i think we got a more legitimate reason, cause we had played a game for years, had outstanding subscriptions and many preorderd an expansion, and then they suddenly changed the entire game mechanics, even dough there was a massive uproar from the community.
We also got lied to a lot, like "we threw away the old code (no one that has ever worked in software development will do that", etc.
Because of this i will never by a game that is under SOE anymore, because i have no trust in them. i dont want to make a half year subscription or even a month when i know SOE have the balls to change the entire game mechanics, no matter what the community says.

ps. i know people are pretty darn tired that we keep bringing this up, but in this case (when talking about hate) it is relevant.

True. SOE dont give a s... about what their customers want. if they could they would properly rip out the thongs of anyone who says ANYTHING contrary to their opinion.

SOE is the gaming company iv ever experienced that screws over their customers the most... It is like SOE comes from bizzarow world, where you pay companies to knock you around and swallow their bull....

I am curious. How do you "handle" knowing how things turn out story wise (timeline, the movies etc.).
For me i try convincing my self that SWTOR takes place in an alternative timeline/Dimension, so anything can happen. (string-theory or Multiverse FTW!)

The system was the same in SWG preneg and it worked fine. Yea the game sucks now, but many people liked the game before (had about 200k subs IF i remember correctly) (PreNEG).

Sure it wasent mentioned in the movies, but there have made more SW stories than the movies

When telling a story you create your universe. Bioware is creating a SW universe where lightsabers arent so crazy ass powerfulas lukases, but if you want them to be in the same universe then ok here is 2 reasons.
1. This is before what you saw in the movies! maby lightsaber technology wasn't that advanced.
2. There are materials that are lightsaber resistant or lightsaber disrupting in the universe. Cortosis is just one example. Maby they where wearing that. it would make sense to have lightsaber resistant armour when attacking a sith warship.

Voice overs are VERY important for me for immersion. Every time I have to read what a char says instead of I can hear it, I loose my "immersion".

Btw about your 1 blaster shot HIT should kill, and lightsabers should cut though flesh like butter. This wouldent work. It would just be a shitload of one kills. No fun and it would make the classes VERY imbalanced.. EVERY starwars game i have played it has ALWAYS been the way SW:TOR is.

2nd Name ONE bad bioware game!

3rd. It is impossible to satisfy everyone, unless they make 50+ different versions of the game.

4th it is still VERY early. Things can change very easily. ffs it is a mmo, things can even change very drastically AFTER launch. Imagine what can happen before launch.

Me personally, i am a big wow hata, but this game looks VERY promising! i really dont se any similarities besides the basic class system and weapons stats etc. BLIZZARD DIDENT INVENT THESE THINGS! and it is an insult to all mmo gamers claming that they did!
I love it looks. I love the voiceovers (tired of reading text when playing mmos), I love the combat, looks very entertaining.

Yea i reaallllly miss preneg SWG. The community was just SOOO good. I miss alot of the people (especially guildees). iv played alot of mmos and other game since, but nothing has come close to preNEG SWG

Lol darkfall will never reach more than MAX 500k subs, and even that is VERY optimistic. Even if darkfall was 100% free they wouldent go beyound that. They would have to PAY people to reach milions. (i dont like either game, WOW is shallow and superficial, like a reality show. Darkfall looks and feels like shit like a hangover).

Well it appered to me that "shit" is a purely subject term.
To me wow and darkfall are very shitty.

One is very superficial game, with a core-target ordiance of people of the age of 15 and under, with cartoonish graphics, and VERY simplistic gameplay (wow).

The otherone is a game that looks like DnL 2.0, wierd way of controling, with some other serious issues (like subscriber limit)(darkfal).

To other to other people they accualy look good. Ones man shit is another mans gold, i guess (uh mental picture)

Yeah but having one of the best educational and health system in the world has it's cost.
I would take the quality of life of any middle class Denmark citizen "any day of the week" before an american one. Tax means nothing. You got to take everything into consideration and look at the final result. Survey says quality of like in Denmark is among the best, while US is one of the worst of the civilized world.
So root for Obama to implement this, and hopefully this money will repair your school and give some health care coverage to the most needed in your society.
BTW: I live in canada, and our Tax rate is at 12% and i really don't care so long as i don't have to mortgage my house every time i catch the flu.

I wouldent like anywere ells (why i wrote in #4 hehe yea well, because our of our high taxes we dont have to fear poverty and theres free healthcare for everyone, we get PAIED to go to collage / university etc. I earn enough money to buy the stuff i want + a substansial extra for a nestegg.)

Yea OP its like Kyleran says. We have this tax in europe, and we still buy and play alot of mmos. If you can afford to maintain a concurrent computer today (i have a Core-i7 with gb of ddr3 ram, with a nvidia Gforce 285 Zotac Amp! graphics card my self) you can afford subscribing a mmo. Most people in the western world with a computer can scratch up 10-25$ each months, if its something they really want to do.

I am abit curious how heavy the instanceing will be on such a game, because from seeing the trailers its clear to me that it has to be on the heavy side, if the game should have a fps over 10 that is...

LOL, that is purely a matter of taste. I have played ALOT of mmos (more than 20), and i have a pretty high standard when it comes to mmos, and i have been playing my level 80 assassin for months.
And theres a shit load to do. EG. Pvp raid with your guild in kesh or more importantly sieges.

MY guild has a newly acquired keep (which we got from our arch nemisis (Covenant of Mor Di), and we have to defend it several times a week, and it is a BLAST to defend (it was also a blast trying to get one).

It takes a shit load of planing, to an extent which i have never seen.
We actually use a 3rd party program to plan out our defence (a program where admins can draw on a map etc. and it is all live streamed out to us). and we of cause use ventrillo ingame for communication.

What classes and players gets in the raid teams (each side can being 2 raid teams, and they are always full), and how they are grouped. Even what equipment and how the classes are specked have a say in what group and what task you get.
What each group, in each raids; primary, secondary and tertiary objectives are, is ALL planed out each time. Iv never seen so much strategy go in to it.

But it is when the siege its self start it is really starting to get interesting. EG Defending a breach in the 1st wall, while hearing updates from the other groups is just great. (3rd group "Catapult up SW, attemting to take it down", 6 and 7 group "We need backup" group 4 "alright coming from the NE" etc.)

These sieges is the most fun i have had in any computer game. I REALLY feel deeply involved in the battle.

Besides that i like to stalk/kill people in kesh alone as my assassin, but that is a matter of taste.

Theres also always mini-games and pve raids going on.

I would say Age of Conan has some of the best end game content of all the mmos i have seen.
