You have to consider the server design too. In a year or so, we will not see 9 instances of the newbie area like today but 1 or 2. That will make it easier to find a team mate, naturally. Love or hate the instancing in TR, but it affect the gameplay in many ways. I also play(ed) Ryzom, a skillbased game where a highlevel character can choose a lowlevel skill to team up with new people. The result was a very friendly place for new people. The cloning could work like this in some ways - work on one of your lowbie clones to recruit new clan members. |

Being a dad to a baby boy, a game that is as playable both with or without a team comes is a great thing. Teaming is hard when the kid suddenly need your attention. Playing group centric games like FFXI just isn't possible. I actually thought my MMO days were over before Tabula Rasa came. And being able to get into action in a matter of minutes isn't bad either. Some of the sandboxy games would do as well, but it's nice to actually achieve something when you can only play a short while at the time. |

What then is the benefits of being in a PVP clan? I tried yesterday, the characters of one account can't be in separate clans. What's the point of such limitations?

I can play the game with With lowest possible settings in the game and Nvidia control panel set to performance I get approx 20-24 FPS. Thanks to the sticky tagetting I don't feel gimped by the computer. The game looks much better with a real gaming computer but IMHO the graphics degrade gracefully (unlike Vanguard that look(ed) awful below medium settings). Good luck, too bad you missed the beta. Maybe there's a trial coming up soon, so you can see for yourself. |

I'm not opposed to companies taking business decisions. But you could handle it better than Gameforge. If you do have a choice between two hosts for a game, don't choose the lesser one. I think the CEO of Gameforge usually breaks up from relationships by stop calling the girl. That's how he handled Ryzom. |

If so, I suggest you play the http://www.metin2.us version and stay away from http://www.metin-2.com |

After what the publisher did to Ryzom, I'd be scared to play it. Gameforge clearly doesn't care about their customers, expect them to drop it without a word. |

I don't find it sad that good MMOs are X years old. A good MMO (should) last years in my opinion. That said, I don't think WoW is worth playing for 3 years... |

And apparently you can join a brothel as well. Is that such a good idea for a family friendly MMORPG? What age group are they aiming at? I'm also sceptical to these pre-designed organisations. I hope they will have player run guilds too. Other than that, I'm excited. Something new and fresh on the horizon! |

Yeah, it's a nice little gem. But both Dwarf Fortress and Oblivion feels so lonely when you're used to online multiplayer. |

As for Vanguard, I did try it. The game obviously have bugs, but I have some other issues with it as well: 1) The world feels very static, mobs are just standing there until you attack them. The reputation system is nice but apart from that the game isn't a living breathing world (yet?). 2) It's a bit too level/group dependant for me. When you reached the first tier in Ryzom you could basically group with because high-level people could always choose a low level skill. In VG and similar class based games I'd be stressed to keep up with my friends. But there's still hope for Ryzom. Gameforge just didn't give it a chance... |

Well EVE doesn't really do it for me. I recently got half a dozen newsletters from CCP reminding me how many trials I quit. (Grass under my feet and a sun that colour the sky pinkish is more important than I thought. I know EVE is a great game for its target audience) |

This might be the last weeks I see of Ryzom. I want a new game if it goes under. So, here goes... I need a living, breathing gameworld. Mobs that aren't just put there for players to kill them, but also interacting with each other. I need to grass under my (toon's) feet. I want What should I choose? |

The new patch (1.10) fixed some stuff. The camera isn't in the way anymore and the controls works much better. Plus I can play it (on lowest settings) well enough on my laptop. Remember that it took a while for NWN1 to get what it is today (or was at its peak). |
