As has been stated tons of times before this, PvP players are, atm anyway, a  minority.  They are loud and vocal but they are still in fewer numbers than PvE players.  That's why games focus more on PvE....money.

Kind of along the lines of a pre-NGE server isn't it? hehe.  I think the real problem is that if you've been playing since pre-TBC then you are just burnt out.  God knows I am.  I only keep my sub going because my wife needs my help every now and then. 

The game has changed, no doubt, but they still have killer sub numbers and not everyone feels the way you, I, or others might.  I don't think a company will ever setup a pre-anything server, it would be admitting that they did something wrong.

PS. On a side note, NOONE has questioned anything, I have heard a lot of QQ and people wondering why I hate the DK so much, which I knew was coming. I also think I gave ample reason enough for why I personally hate the DK class. I haven't been proven wrong on anything I said. You are not going to find 1 single person playing wow right now that doesn't agree that the DK population is out of control. EVERY wow server is so over populated with them it is hard to breath in the game. I can't take 2 steps on my server without tripping over one.

I decided last night, I will no longer party with DK's or Heal a DK when they need it. I had 4 other healers also agree with the same. They would no longer heal them in raids or party with them in the world. Going to be a lot of DK deaths on our BG it seems. Cause they won't be getting any heals from me inside the BG's.

We are on a DK Strike.

Get yourself HDTune to test your disks.  I'm setting up two of the WD Blacks in a raid 0.  I'm still waiting on the second drive but here are the specs of the one I have installed atm.

Transfer Rate Minimum : 57.5 MB/sec
Transfer Rate Maximum : 113.8 MB/sec
Transfer Rate Average : 93.7 MB/sec

CPU Usage : 1.5%

Keep in mind that is the SINGLE drive, not the raid 0.  I can also say that these 640gig blacks are the quietest drives I have ever used.

Also, you can play and enjoy Aion from beginning to end and never set foot in the Abyss or random pvp zones, though you might be unfortunate enough to be in an area that randomly spawns a portal from time to time. Other than portals (which keep each race temporary access to the other side) which are rare and random, PvP is not something thrown in your face. It's a very large part of the game, yes, but the gear you get from PvPing in the Abyss is ~MADE~ for PvP. Go to the Aion Armoury and look at the Abyss gear, you'll see that it's made specifically for PvP with lower stats but a % bonus to attacks against PCs (player characters), meaning you will not be gimped against monsters or PvE content if you don't use PvP gear. In fact, PvP gear is actually worse for PvE content than the gear you get from crafting which, except for extremely rare and unique gear, is the most powerful equipment currently available.

 

So, if you're not into PvP, no worries. The game is designed to appeal to the masses, PvP is entirely optional.

I think the elitist/snobby attitude is one reason devs don't try to make games like "back in the day".  Some people can't be pleased and are more content coming in here and whining about how the genre sux instead of putting some time into the plethora of games out there and having some fun.  They know that these nostalgic types will never be happy.  Just my O.

Another big example is EVE.  A lot of people think that game is boring.  Sure, for some people it is. Ok, it's not for you, that's fine.  But it is a GREAT game.  I personally love it (took me several trial accounts over the past two years until I "got" the game) but I know many who don't.  That's fine, but don't attack the game and say it's terrible when it's not.  It's just not for YOU.  You, an individual who is very complex and has many different likes and dislikes.  It's when people start thinking their tastes are fact and that other games suck just because they don't like it that there is a problem. Note that this goes both ways (and a huge issue I have with the EVE community) when EVE players bash other games and call people stupid because they don't like EVE. I'm sure there are some very intelligent people that play WoW (although it does seem to have more kiddies, probably because of accessibility).

How can you say "let's all hug and get along" (being silly there ;) but then say it's ok to bash a certain style of game?  Someone likes the games or they wouldn't exist at all, right?  It goes back to YOUR thought about the matter and YOU THINK it's ok.  Kind of being a hypocrit there, hehe.

It's all about the anonymity of the internet.  For all I know, you could be a pink chimpanzee from the planet Pooflinger.  People hide behind their avatar and some, if not most, act like real turds.  They enjoy it.  Haturds and fanbois will always be here and they will always argue.  I don't see that changing any time soon, lol.
