If you think about it, it's a good move. Bethesda didn't want to ruin or abandon it's single player game, so they let zinimax create a game using their lore. if you don't look at it as skyrim but as a totally new mmo, it sounds pretty f'n sweet.

You guys are wrong, he said he guessed it was hard just not his style. that tells me that he tried it but didn't really get to experience it because it wasn't his cup o tea. If I were to take everything into account that he said, he's looking for a fantasy MMO, not SciFi.

PAY ATTENTION!

Or, she's standing on a hill above the city.
Just because you can't see it, Harry, doesn't mean it isn't there.

EQNext,  or eqIII as it is called is an alternate time line of norrath,  vanguard does not equate into the equation as it is the world of Telon.

What eqIII will be is a browser based mmo that you can play on you tablet or on your computer.

EQ2 is already an alternate timeline of Norrath.

Doesn't matter, he's pointing out that Telon isn't a part of the EQ world. Your statement is a complete waste, genious.

The question I would ask, being that I know jack shiat about GW2,

are you able to enter the WvWvW areas at any time?

Can you leave at any time?

If you leave and come back 3 hours later will it still be the same?

If everyone leaves and you stay, then more people show up for a fight some 6 hrs later you join in?

A system that would allow the above would simply be a map that anyone from any world could join at any time for pvp. That hwo it works?

I don't like the game but a good example of an instance arena would be WoW's battlegrounds. Instanced.

Just because I feel like butting in,

A zone is a persistant area within a persistant world that all players can travel in and out of whether that be seamless or a load screen at any time.

An instance is an area that is only created and used when a player(s) enters said area for use and no longer exists once the player(s) leave the instance.

A form of instance is also the duplication of a zone, you enter a normal persistant "zone" but because of some developers solution to overcrowding they create a new "instance" of said zone to allow an infinite number of players to use it at any given time, just in a different "instance".

Ahhh so your saying that there arent many long term goals to work for?

Btw, no other game has done the "level doesnt matter much" as well as age of conan, I was killing level 60 players at 22. Mind you, I don't like the game, but what they did with pvp levels vs pve levels was awesome.

I'm an old guy. When I first started playing MMO's all we had was garbage can lids for shields and swords made from paper towel rolls. We rode on saddled saw horses and looted old cigar boxes for hidden canybars. I have very fond memories of those days.

Dammit, I want to play THAT MMO! :)

Sounds like the original SandBox MMO

Massively Multiplayer Outside Role Playing Game.

I remember those days. I think it was when we got our first BB gun that we slowly drifted away from this particular game :P

My only beef with VWRPG is that is doesn't signify whether this is multiplayer or not, as MMOVW would.

There is nothing wrong with this rule and I wish all states would implement it. Rules are rules, if you don't want to become a sex offender, follow them all. That means if you are 21, don't have sex with a 17 year old. Pretty simple actually. I only wish that when someone is put on the sex offender list there would be something that showed the "level" at which they were put on there. That way people could see the list and say, okay even though he/she's a registered sex offender, I don't have to worry about my children. It was a lesser offense.

Just my opinion.

Confirmed, one of the best cash shops IMO.

Just downloading this gain, getting that itch !!!! can't wait to get back in :)

Uh.. except an Asian grinder would include... grind .. which TERA does not.

I want progression, those stats make me feel like I accomplish something. Sure, I'm totally okay with pvp being all the same strength and all but I want something to 'progress' with, otherwise it becomes boring. I'm one that doesn't believe gear = skill either (trust me, in Rift I'm  the tank but I'll toss over and dps and show up the main dps warriors no problem with lesser gear) I just like having something to earn, and gear was one of those things. It doesn't need to be anything massive just getting a little better is what I like. Its a huge reason i like the Planar Attunement in rift (Simular to Everquest AA if your more familiar though with a bit simpler design).

I don't need gear to be happy, i just like having made progress on my character, even if its such a tiny value of difference I can find enjoyment out of it. Getting absolutely nothing out of it just is so... meh... I can only go so far before repetition sets in and I I feel like I'm accomplishing absolutely nothing.

Why does progression have to be stat based?

I think the best thing about GW2 is that the best looking gear will come from the hardest to beat instances, no more stat grind hamster wheel.

Oh thank god, I much prefer the gear grind hamster wheel over the stat grind hamster wheel...

Not arguing either side of this, just pointing out those very same instances could be used for gaining stats or armor or gold. Doesn't matter what it is you're after.

Can't argue opinions so I'll just throw mine out there. I thought Dragons Nest would be my game, I've been wanting a fun to play action game ever since I started Darkfall 3 years ago. I am all but done with tabbed targeting. Dragons Nest being instanced was an immediate turn off for me. With todays technology I have to have a seemless open world. TERA's open world PVP is icing on the cake, while I feel it needs some tweeks such as some form of penalties (a different discussion).

To each their own, but in my honest opinion you can't really compare the two games on any level except for the way you control your character, as they are 2 completely different setups. I will gladly pay 15 bucks a month for TERA, you don't have to.

Will you glady pay 15 bucks a month for me too =D?

I see what I did there.

SW:TOR system drags you by the nose from second 1 to the level 50. Then the game falls flat to it's face, because you reach the end of the story. Just like you'd do in a single player game, which SW:TOR unfortunately is. While the storytelling is interesting (the first time around), it doesn't fit the kind of game they were forced (by EA) to make.

Quests are meant to give you background info about the area you are, the story behind it and the struggles the people in that area have and need resolving. Beyond that you need to have the freedom to do your thing, if you so choose. This is simply not possible in SW:TOR.

So while the storytelling aspect of Tera's quests is indeed weak, the quests accomplish what they are supposed to in an mmorpg environment. SW:TOR quests do the exact opposite, the storytelling is so strong, you have zero freedom to develop your character, in a game that is all about character development.

Doesn't it annoys you that half the empire players were darths and members of the dark council? A quarter of the server population were Darth Vader status.

I recently saw the movie "Shawshank redemption"  and just finished reading the book "to kill a mockingbird" and I am here to tell you I am so happy that the movie and the book dragged me from beggining to end

I bet Frank Darabont and Harper Lee had more fun with those than  you did, wouldn't it be nice to create a story rather than to follow one? Oh i do know that TERA wont do that, but when I want to play a game the story is the last f'n thing i care to pay attention to, just my 2c. Good luck with your SWTOR adventures, I'm going to hack and bash my way through TERAs awesome combat.

I prefer TERAs quest UI over SWTORs, after skipping over all quest context and/or voice overs TERA felt better to follow afterwards :P
