Here is a useful post from warhammer alliance about how GOA has changed in preperation for WAR, it is a good read for those who may of had bad experiences with GOA from when they played DAOC. It was written by Iain, who i think is GOA's community manager!

Personally i hope that GOA have shaped up, i didnt have any problems with them from DAOC but i know may people did, hope this helps!

Wow did not realise i would get branded a troll.... for saying i support WAR that is strange. This article is a printed one in the mag, the JUNE 2008 edition, with the cover having Empire total war on it.

I dont have the means to scan the article and i believe we are not meant to do that anyway, but this edition only hit the shelves yesterday.

yeah i thought that was strange too, but i should of put what he said at the start of the article, he talks baout how the first 10 mins are vital for an MMO in getting the customer to want to pay £8 a month.

However i do agree that he was a bit hasty in his negative comments!

Just read a preview in this months Pc Gamer UK and here are a few intersting lines: "Your first 10 minutes in WAr are abysmal. And thats a shame, because there's real potential here. Pur premade character was dumped beside a massive boat on a drab island. There are buzzing fairies ahead, elevn sailors to your left and a path to the right. In front a quest master :" Kill four fairies, Kill six sailors. Go and meet my friend"

The article then goes on the complain about only having two skills at the start making the combat boring!

However the rest of the article is generally positive, mainly explaining why you should play WAR and so on.

However it makes me wonder what the previewer was looking for when he was preveiwing an mmo?! Anyways what do you guys think of what i have quoted? Does not concern me too much its what i expect from an mmo!

yup you will be able to, thought it will be dangerous if your running at lvl 1 :)

Since there a few threads about the CE in Europe and where to get it i thought id make a thread about EU in general.

If you scroll through the rest of the thread you will find answers about other countrys.

For UK people as shown in the thread Play.co.uk is the place to go http://www.play.com/Games/PC/4-/5310527/Warhammer-Online-Age-Of-Reckoning-Collector-Edition/Product.html They should be handing out the codes as they have them listed as the features of the CE Iain said himself this is the place for UKI people. They will only ship to UK customers.

Game uk are NOT a pre order partner. However GAME in Sweden is a partner!

Again for the UK HMV will be getting it sorted out soon.

I believe the other countries on the website sems to be getting sorted out soon.

Read through the topic and even post your own questions as Iain is answering quite a few, i hope that helps some of you.

I have pre ordered from PLAY and it is listed that the preorder bonuses such as open beta will be delivered in MAY or when the beta begins so it seems if you order from there you will not get the codes for a few weeks.

yeha im fine with it, in the ign or gamespot interveiw it was stated WAR is pretty much done content wise, so these extra few months are all about making sure everything is perfect.

Additionally it gives WAR a wide berth of the WOW addon and AOC, so if people get burnt out on those two WAR will be right there!

Its now due out in Autumn, the reason for the question mark is that i wasnt sure if people thought it was meant to be out before or not, previous ideas were around June as that is what alot of websites said.

So its been pushed back for a few months, that was revealed at the show in Paris this morning, lets hope that isnt the main news :P

A uk gaming website has the CE up now, with a release date of about June the 6th if i workjed it out correctly, going for £40

Good on him! The video is also interesting, turns out he plays Oblivion!

I think its meant to be initiative which is a stat the models have in the TT game, so i believe it would be a base stat like strength and so on, not an independant stat like resilience in WoW

Apparantly WAR was missed from EA's release schedule however GOA say its still on track!

GOA has made a hatchet job of at least in my experience the UK European servers. They do not have the mental capacity/resources/attitude to run the Warhammer EU UK servers.  The DAOC Eu UK Servers do not have 30 people capped prime-time. It is a ghost town.

If I play the game I will get a US box, this is from my and others EU UK experience of the company. I am just here warning those from my country not to get involved for many reasons including the very serious billing issue. I warned you here first.

The EU servers will probably serve the french and germans better but there is no good reason why people like now should not play on Mythics US servers.

 

 

What no more than 30 people? please i was on about 3 months ago and there was at peak time about 1000-1500 eriously your making half of this up

Sorry not once have i had a problem with my billing on the Europe servers, no idea what your on about
