Its not really $50. I would hope to get at least 3-4 months out of a mmo, so that's closer to 105 spent. That's not quite right either. See if Conan was the only game coming out this year then I would agree $50 or 105 isn't a big deal. However you have War, Spellborn, Spoor, Stargate to name just a few. I have better uses for my money than spending $50 to play a game for a month before jumping to the next.
Maybe I'll win one of the last few beta contests and get a broader look at the game beyond the pvp weekend. Maybe I'll like what I see. Right now? The info and time spent in game isn't anything special. It not enough to make me want to go buy the game. Is it a bad game? No. I just didn't connect with it. |

One reason is because there are going to be a -lot- of people restarting to try out the stuff in issue 12. |

Mastermind. Its a bit slow up to 12, but starts to get better from then on. By the time most players are starting to struggle, a master mind is blowing through missions. However there is a lot of prep work and you have to manage your pets.
The second best would be Brutes. |

I was wondering how the game is doing, since I got bored and stopped playing a month or so before it went live. 1. Is there any way to respec besides cloning? This is bad because cloning was suppose to let you try different class paths without having to start over. If you have to share it with respecs your choices become more limited. 2. Cloning. Do you still just get 3? This is a bad thing btw. Why? See not all skills are useful all the way to end game and you only get so many points. Or maybe you just don't like a skill after trying it out. 3. Did they do anything about the camping missions? This is where you need Boss X, who is out in the zone. In beta you ended up having to fight over these bosses hoping you got the credit. 4. Does xp still go with whoever did the most damage? It use to be that everyone shared in xp, so there was a reason to help and team up with people out in the wild, and you weren't kill-stealing. 5. Is the shoot through walls bug still around? 6. Did they add the invisible helmet setting yet? 7. Are there more than just those few sets of armor or does everyone still pretty much look the same at tier levels? 8. Are the face choices still pretty much the same except for a slightly different expressions? 9. Is there any point to levels other than 5, 15 and 30? 10. Did they add content to later levels so there is something to do besides grind? 11. Did they add an end game content? 12. Is the ranger still pointless? 13. Is the net gun still over powered? 14. Is there a reason to group? 15. Does your inventory still get filled with useless crap? 16. Is crafting still a waste of points? 17. Is crafting still annoying and have that tacked on feel? 18. Did they add more moral missions and do they actually have an effect on your character now, besides a different reward? 19. Is the whole different named ammo still around? Is it still just a money sink that makes chainguns cash burners? 20. Did they add lots more logos and make the system fun instead of 'collect the glowing ball'? 21. Those ability points you get. Do they actually matter now so there is a noticeable difference? 22. Do high end mods still use the same model as low end with just a different color?

I am guessing this review must be someone trying to be sarcastic. I base that on this; "The character creation tool had a huge amount of options and it was really easy creating a truly unique looking character, i enjoyed playing around with it for a few mins before i finally settled on a super sexy red head . After that i was whisked away to the tutorial."

Like SWG? You could only hope. It will be like Guide Wars. Only the towns will be spaceships. Star Trek might be big again, they are doing moives with the first crew only recast with younger people. |

I would really like to see these reviews be, more review and less advertisements. I mean way to gloss of the bad stuff. Its like going to a job and being asked what's the quailty you least like about yourself? And saying, Oh that I can never give less than one-hundred percent.
How about that you get only 3 clones? That is the only respec option in the game. Most games offer more. Calling it cloning doesn't make it special. How about you can't respec your skill points? The only way to respec your skill and stat points, is by not spending them, cloning, dumping them in stuff to see if you like those skills and if you don't... Scrap that character and use the clone. Of course if you do that, you won't be able to use the clone to try out different classes. Oh and what happens when a skill gets 'balanced' and you don't want to use it anymore? Really way to go and just blow by all that and make limited repecs seems like a good thing. How much are you being paid by NCsoft?, because you should be cashing their checks. How about the idea that its the same game at 40 as it is at 5? Even the foes are the same with just different paint jobs? How about that there is no reason to level past 30? 30 is your last tier after that you have nothing to look forward to, since there is no end game to speak of and crappy prp. How about you only have 3 levels to look forward to. Does no one else think this in insane? Most games you are getting new skills every couple of levels, skills which very often change your game play. That happens 3 times in this game. 3 times you get a ding. You aren't even spending skill points at new levels because you only get 1 point and you are saving your skill points until you hit a tier. How about stat points do next to nothing? How about crafting just is the same as in other games, its pointless and useless? How about you get an autoattack and that is pretty much it. Its a one button game with limited specials. WoW you got bars all over after you got some level under you. Here? Your luckly to need a 5 slot bar. How about limited UI control? |

Yeah? So tell me what is the point of leveling past 30? See unlike say WoW where every few levels you gain a new power you can play around with, you only get 3 such levels in TR. 5, 15 and 30. Oh and also unlike WoW you can't respec. Where ever you put your points is where they will stay. Unless you either save them all until you are lvl 30 or save up the couple of points you get until you reach 5 or 15 then clone and buy up a few powers. Play with the powers to see if you like them (if you don't you just waisted one of only 3 clone points you get). You get very few powers. The game is like using a normal mmos autoattack all the time with tossing in a special once in a while. There are people who enjoy banging thier head against a rock. That doesn't mean such an activity is fun for most people. |

We are stopping them. What so many mmo makers fail to understand is the word of mouth matters more than any other kind of ad and that your first few months out of beta will make or break your game. If your game comes out all buggy with low content, there are people you will lose who will likely never be back and will warn away anyone who will listen. Its better to spend the money and have the game as good as you can make it or don't bother making it in the first place. |

To bad the stuff said isn't exactly true. There are a few and I do mean few quests where you are given and ethical choice. It has very little effect on the game, more like none. The logos is silly. They do nothing. They are a prereq for limited number of logos powers your class unlocks and you can put points into. So a power might need the damage and area logos before you can use it. |

SWG showed that a hero class is a bad idea. It is a mistake to have an alpha class in a game. |

Maybe its because of the expansions, which I don't have, but the basic eq2 seems as lame as always. Combat animation sucks. Combat sound sucks. I hate that you must buy or make upgrades to your skills. I hate the con system. It seems like mobs should be one color higher than they are. What I dislike more than anything else, is that my avatar feels weak. I just want to get on an play. Maybe if I could use AA's, I'd be able to get the power I feel I am lacking. I log on and it feels like I need to invest huge amounts of time if I want to get anywhere. |

Its not a bad game for what it is. I would like to see more avatar customization. I really do not understand seeing the battle animations and sounds in 2moon, why bigger games like WoW and EQ2 do theirs so poorly. Most mmos are a grind to some degree, so if I am going to be watching my avatar fight that much, why have it look so awful doing it? |

Yeah I did that, but you can only play on the Island. I would like to try out the actual game. I understand you can leave the Island with a buddy key? SWG's newbie station played okay too, but it didn't give you much of a feel for the actual game. |
