I meant the single player campaign not being really a rpg. More like hack'n slash or action game with rpg features. Story + character development is not what makes a game RPG. It's the amount of choices within the adventure quests and a possibility to develop your character "persona" apart from combat mechanics. (Arcanum, Fallout 1/2, BG 1, Planescape Torment... to name a few)

Lets be fair we dont know enough about D3 to deicde wether it is or is not a RPG? we saw the dungeon action but we did not realy see the quest system the world as a whole or how the story unfolds.  Bauldergate 1 is my all time fav RPG but that had dungeons too.  so lets wait and see what D3 will be like.

For me its "stylization" over "realisation", It takes much for skill and talent to hand draw.paint textures and to create buidlings and worlds not found in the real world (and make it look good), then it does to take a photo of a wall and slap it on a a model thats been modeled on a wall out side your window.

All 3 games I will be buying.. im a  blizzard whore.

For me it would have to be a starcraft MMO.. or maybe an RTS/MMO/RPG hybrid, you dont play a character you play a faction and you hire/build/train armies to battle other players for ownership of planets, facilities etc all in an RTS game play. /drolling

Sounds like we'll get some even better PvP in D3.. but they are being very quiet on that front =(

Ah good up next on the live streams is the Diablo3 developer panel.. should answer a few questions =D

It sounds like D3 multiplayer will be like D1/2 but I was hoping it to be more like Mythos/HGL where players are all in the same world can meet up in cities and towns and form groups to go out in the world.  But as it uses Battlenet I doubt that =(

It's kinda meh for me really. There are other games out there that I'm looking forward to... original concepts with huge resources backing them up to ensure they get appropriate polish. If Diablo 3 were announced 2-3 years ago I'd burst with excitement but now I think I'll pass.

Grinding mobs for gear is soo last tuesday. A step back from WoW really.

A blast from the past and that's about it. There's nothing new to the game (even the fixed camera angle is identical!), aside from the updated graphics.

C'mon, Blizzard...eight years since D2 and this is the best you could come up with?

To be fair we have seen a short game play video, 2 enviroments, 2 classes we dont know that much yet. I think its too early to dismiss it as same'old'same'old.  We dont know how the story will playout, the multiplayer options etc.

Yeah it still looks isometric.

They could be using a 3D engine but render it on a 2D platform to give it a 2D feel though.
