Well here I am... 50min before launch having the exact same problem. I have done nearly everything that was mentioned in these forums and the VMboards. I've tried to register my pre-order key manually but everytime I do it tells me 'this key has already been used' (or something to the effect). I have done this numerous times making sure that everything was typed in correctly and still get the same issue. I then proceeded to try and create a new account but I still can't use the same pre-order key I purchased because it is already registered to my original account! My account is one of those Beta & pre-order accounts, but I don't understand why I am having this issue given all the things I have tried to do... This is somewhat discouraging. Have fun in game. |

I am assuming that on the 27th, you will be able to have access to the official launch server for the first three days if you have consumed your pre-order key. After the three days are up they will disable your access and then you will have to go out and buy the official release, consume that key, in order to be let back on to play again on the same server you were given access to three days prior. I am NOT sure if this is the way things are being done but it is the only way that makes the most sense to me. If anyone has any accurate, non-speculative, information, please feel free to jump in on this one =) |

Same gripe, 2 gig ram, AMD 3700+, Geforce 6800 256MB PCI-E I am pretty dissapointed. I am playing the game on high performance settings and am getting a pretty bad framerate when in cities and dungeons. I have been informed that the game will be optimized more, and of course that this still is beta. I am just really hoping that things work out and I am able to play this game as it is pretty fun. I remember back in the day I played EQ2 with a P4, a gig of ram, and a geforce 5200 and that played well on high performance settings. |

Ok, that's what I was thinking thanks for the reply. Sidenote: Went to the local gamespot and EB games around here in Rochester, NY. No dice on the pre-order, they said maybe over the weekend or sometime durring the week. The one comment the girl had for me was that I'm going to need an "uber-computer" to run this game. After viewing the system requirements, I don't necessarily agree with that... I guess we will all see for sure when we can get our hands on open-beta. |

So I'm to assume that the item can be used on your beta character and cannot be transferred on to your character you create when the actual game comes out correct? Sorry if I'm not being clear enough... I'm asking under the assumption that your beta character cannot be brought over to the release. PS: Thx |

Hello all, I've been following this game for awhile and am excited to see it coming along. My question is that once you get the pre-order box and are able to get into open-beta (whenever that is) is the 'special scroll' item you get in the pre-order box only for your character in the open-beta? Or is it only for the one you create when the official release comes out. I ask this because I remember reading recently that beta characters and items you get in beta are non-transferable when official release comes around... so I was wondering where that 'special item' fit in with all this. Thanks |

So true, Well then after doing a lot of research I've narrowed things down to EQ2 or Lineage2, I just have a few questions about both. I know that EQ2 does not support the healing of others when they are 'locked' in a battle. For instance, in FFXI I would see a lowbie in trouble so I'd cast a few cures on him to save him (even though we weren't in a party) and he'd live (sometimes). A lot of the time the person would be very grateful and in fact, I made a lot of friends this way. Does Lineage2 support this type of thing? And even though EQ2 does not, are there other ways to help out lowbies who might have gotten themselves in a fight a little over thier head? Also, I hear the EQ2 looks fantastic graphicly. Most people I hear that play the game have 256mg graphics cards. My question is how well does a 128mg push in that game? and is the visual quality still amazing? Thanks for taking the time to help me out guys. |

Hello, this is my first post here so first I want to say hello to everyone. Now, here is my situation. I really would love to have a great MMO to play, make friends on, and adventure with. I have read so many reviews about so many different games and all in all I really feel that I need a player's perspective. I really crave a medieval theme base to an MMO such as EQ 2, Lineage 2, and FF XI. I played FXI for about a year and a half on and off but have completely lost inerest due to repetative content (skill leveling for an hour just to get a 0.1 skillup while wasting every piece of gil I had), not the best graphics, gil-sellers, campers etc... (To those who love FFXI don't be flustered this is just my opinion). Right now I play Guild Wars, which is a great game. However, there's just not enough content I'm already level 20 and got an Uber dude and... yea there's just nothing more for me (and I consider myself a casual gamer). Here's what I'd like to do for people willing to help me out on selecting a new MMO, I will list off things that I'd like in a game, and based on them, you veterens can recommend what you think would suit me. So here goes, -great graphics (I've got a 128 Vid card but I know there are tons of games that look great on them) -quests that give experiance as well as items -non-cartoonish atmosphere (I want to feel like I can take the game seriously, for me that helps motivate me to develop my character) -skills and professions (extending more than just the kill monster grind) - be able to PL other players (cure them even tho they're not in your party) -tons of character customizability (so I won't see my double while adventureing) -lots of different armor types (types that might fit a gamers style) -reap the benifets of success (rewards that match the time spent) -not an incredibly harsh death penalty -a good flexible economy (like an auciton system) -raids on towns/mobs -being able to solo/party at most all level ranges -a fun and easy way of leveling skills (not just pressing two buttons for a week straight) PvP doesn't really matter to me except in things like raids, I'm more of a PvE kinda guy. I love scenery and just getting lost in the depth and adventuring of a MMO. I've checked out Lineage 2 and EQ 2 but have heard many different reviews, everything from the game sucks to it rocks. Can anyone offer me advice based on the criteria I've mentioned above? Thank you very much, for taking the time to help me out, hopefully I can find something really great with your help! |
