People say they find the old school "Grind" yet if given the option to skip it, would they take it?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 3/17/13 2:20:13 PM
I gues another thought about the word grind is it is the social factor connected to it to make it a non-grind. Social interactions reduced the grind, that is you always saw crafters sitting around a forge nattering whilst they where crafting. So I think if they decide to discard the grind it may because the social interaction required to make that a less uncomfortable task was no longer present, e..g the aforesaid issue with there being a reduced number of low levels to make th grind less effective on a fun (social) and functional level.

By meaning of the word grind I think it suggests an unpleasant experience. I would suggest a grind only occurs when the endgame moves, e.g. a new expansion pack occurs and you want to start a fresh charactert to get there, starting from 0. Also, a game's population can also define a grind. How hard is it to level when the 70+% of players are at top level and you are left to run around in the lower area's LFG and finding it much harder to level. IMHO in some ways artifical ways to bump lower players up towards an endgame to avoid a repetitive levelling game are symptoms of the end goalposts moving. I think grind is an unfair name, used to describe repetition as if it was initally unpleasent, why would people play it? |

Funny. It's all not so much of an issue now, suddenly, as for some reason people don't care. You can find these threads still if you want too, gents. |

David06, accusations where made, answers where given on why the campaign by certain members of the commununity to ban people they feel are "cheating" wasn't watertght. If they could accept the fact that this is the reality, instead of mounting some form of whispering campaign, they might get somehwere. As for the other things, ask them. But dont't try to tarnish one issue with the other when they are opposite otherwise it just looks like more "CRS ate my house and burnt my chicken down" talk. |

Originally posted by Jester6 Plenty of people have already said that he's a damned good pilot. Originally posted by kakasaki No, that was that other locked thread. This thread is about a squad that attempted to harry (I hope they didn't) other players out of the game with incessant claims of "cheat" for the sake of their stats.

I remember this well. With apologies to the player who originally posted this before: "I see one hit actually slice into the side of the turret. In fact, lets watch it a few times and see where the rounds go: So, really, it's not as much a vid about balance but a vid showing a player who can't hit a sherman at 100ms.... I'd be embaressed to post this under my tag because it would show how much I suck. But then blaming "unfair gameplay" is the refuge of teh sucking player, isn't it?

Originally posted by JG26_Enigma Time to change strategy? Again, so earnest! I guess you can say these things here because some of those who read this won't have seen how you and your squad members acted in the hanger, so im really intrigued by this strategy change and how that suddenly removes months and months of deliberately cr*pping in the hanger. Remember, you said the community forums where your litter tray. |

Today the Axis pushed the Allied forces back all along the line, from Libin in Belgium in the south, to Grave, Holland in the North. Meanwhile, in the centre, Liege is still being fought over like a bone! |

General Discussion « World War II Online 3/14/13 11:59:32 AM
Originally posted by BodkinBarber So you are saying pulling the plug happens with armour all the time? Aircraft all the time? Generally it is only committed loosers who can't take the hit on their pride, and whilst it could be an issue with a few names but it isn't the massive problem it is blown out if proportion to be. it's only a "OMGWTF BBQ!" problem because one squad has taken into its own hands to hunt such individuals down. If you can't let 1 or 2 kills go, and the JG26 guys got tons, what is the problem? |

1. He died - one less fighter to deal with - win for my side. 2. If he pulled the plug/avoided a kill he's a sore looser. If everyone was a sore looser, it would be a problem, but generally they are not. Molehill to Mountain. Edit: Players do pull the plug when they play armour, same sore loosers that think its kool to avoid giving a death away.
