It's awesome. It does not play as your typical themepark mmo. It's refreshing , fuck! This is what MMO's was in need :)

Exactly! I didn't bother much with GW2 news/hype/etc, but I did watched some videos and readed some articles about it. What you saw and readed about GW2 in the past, is there! It plays the same way , not like this guy which made a thread on mmorpg.com, that in the videos he saw, the game "played" awesome, but when he tried it, it felt worst ( movement, animations, etc ) .

All I can say is that this game will deliver exactly what Anet said. I am really enjoying the game, that's all I can say.

You even don't play the game or .. you are talking about the first 24 hours which of course were a pain in the ass. But since yesterday ( not to mentionate today ) things were back to normal. So stop complaining, else you may start selling your copy if you feel so .. sad/mad/crying about "pay to test".

 And let me tell you something. I don't know why, but there is  BIG difference between those screen shots and the one I made, in terms of quality. But I think is because I resized them since the original screens were to big.

Graphics wise TERA blows this out of the water, We are not talking about Art style, we are talkin about Graphics and TERA simply shits on this one easily. Also from what I Heard TERA handles a larger number of players Easily compared to GW2, People who had 100+ people on screen and even 500s say that they bearly get any Lag even at max settings. In GW2 there were a couple of people with High end PC who experienced Hard FPS drops and Lag.

As I said, is a matter of taste, but I do enjoy tera graphic too. I don't know about others, but I did not run into any FPS problems so far, even on most over crowed areas where players ( and they were lots ) did events , I did not drop below 25 FPS on max settings . With an i7 920 , 4 GB of RAM DDR3 1600 , GTX 560 Ti ( I know, I need more ram :) ).  Anyway, I do enjoy GW2 graphics more then alot of other games , but/and stop trying to make people to have the same opinion as you.

As for RelytDnegel , I don't know what computer do you have, but saying you thought you were in EQ2 , does NOT make any sens to me :) And about the skill lag and such, yes is frustating to play a close combat char, when the server is lagging! Don't be dissapointed! Patiance! Is Stress Beta! Lag will be gone and soon will rain with diamonds ! ( j/k about diamonds rain :) )

Based on the feedback so far, ArenaNet has probably just improved TERA's launch sales.  From what I've seen so far, my decision to play TERA over GW2 has been justified.

I don't know about others, but after like 3 hours I manage to play 1 hour. And you know what? I had fun in that 1 hour.  I found myself asking "Hm .. where is this leading? What's there? What this guy wants?"  Questions which I don't remember "asking myself" in other MMO's since we all know the typical "starting area" from almost all the games out there. Also, things like "Wow, that's beautiful. Hey look, NPC's are having a (voice) conversation, let me listen to them:) ! Fight for survive, ressing other players , nice skills and stuff. ! Maybe is not super uber innovating, but for me, those little things really matters! I manage to get to level 4, as I did explorations too :)

I was not hyped at all about GW2 ( you can check my posts till today )! I saw some videos, readed some reviews etc, but I remained skeptical. But now, I do know what my future MMO will be ( along with D3 ) :)

At the moment I'm testing the login error messages. It's exciting, every once in a while I'm getting a new error code and message.

 

edit: lol, now even the ANet GW2 forum is giving error codes sometimes and hard to access occasionally. Meh, gonna watch a movie and try afterwards.

Why would Anet present the entirety of the pre-order customer base with a closed beta version on purpose? That's a really dumb thing to say, no offense intended.

You do understand that if you're allowing everyone who has pre-purchased the game to play in a beta weekend, that's barely a step below open beta, right? It's a public test for anyone who wants to pay for it.

Sure, your point is valid, but like I said, it has only been 2 hours since beta has begun. And also, they did "warn" us about those kind of issues, so you can't really blame them after 2 hours and their first beta.
