Those dungeons should be scaled up or something. That's a lot of wasted content that people will only do as transmog runs where you can 1 shot most stuff. Pretty senseless and boring.

Despite the telegraphs, Wildstar's combat is very good. Everybody has skills to engage and disengage combat, movement is key, aiming aswell. Sure it can be a spamfest but at least you have options. Sprint, dodge, double jump alongside utility abilities it all makes combat really amazing to play.

WoW just doesn't have that. You choose your target and unleash whatever you got. The combat dynamic just isn't as fun movement-wise. Still requires skill of course, but its not the same thing.

I know pvp balance is an utopia with so many different classes/abilities and gear that come into play. But they've been tweaking it for 10 years, it should be a lot better than it is today. Hell, Wildstar's BETA felt much more balanced than WoW ever did pvp-wise. WoW's pvp always been very gear centered and rock/paper/scissors between classes on 1vs1. If only they implemented movement as an important part of combat as Wildstar did, their PVP would be so much better.

Not sure if Warlords of Draenor can bring back the game that was wasted years ago. Even if it's a step in the right direction, its a bit late for the changes it brings, the game is old and its gameplay/engine shows.

I've read about the requirement of CC in dungeons and about the new world pvp zone which is great news but its something that should have been in the game ages ago.

Wildstar still feels like the better game to me in terms of gameplay although I dislike its lore and goofy graphics, a MMO is supposed to feel epic like WoW does, Wildstar does not. Whatever potential Wildstar had might aswell forget about it. Everyone is jumping ship, first the players and now the dev's. If they are not leaving they are being layed off. GG

Easy there. Why so defensive?

Didn't say tab targeting is easy, just said it was easier than free aiming action combat where in addition to all your skills/abilities you also have to aim also which makes movement much more important than in tab-targeting in which all you can do is break line of sight or get out of range.

Wildstar's combat is amazing, I dislike the telegraphs showing everywhere but the fluidity of movement and aim is top notch. You have an enormous control over your character which makes combat really fun.

WoW's combat should have evolved by now but if we can't expect a reasonable class balance in 10 years, I wouldn't expect combat to evolve neither anytime soon.

Tab targeting simplifies combat, making it easier, therefore people that have slower reactions will prefer tab targeting over free aiming everytime. It's not an insult, its an observation. I don't dislike tab targeting but it's time to move forward, evolve. Tab targeting requires less skill to master which makes it less fun.

There's a huge hole in the MMO market, people are hungering for a new proper MMO and that shows with every single MMO release. If WoW was truly that good, people wouldn't be looking for another MMO to spend their time in everytime a new one releases.

WoW is a very good game but its very old and its gameplay shows. During its 10 year life, so little was done to introduce proper combat mechanics and new fun features to the game. Class balance is STILL a major issue. Older areas constantly become obsolete since there's no reason to go back. Flying mounts killed world pvp. etc. etc.

If WoW is the best the MMO genre has to offer then its a damn shame.

Hard to believe this game is going through this much trouble.

Even though I dislike watching telegraphs on the floor all the time, I love the combat and the PVP of this game, movement is of an essence to survive. It has the best combat gameplay of any MMO I've played, better than GW2 in my opinion. That alone is very hard to achieve and gives Wildstar a huge advantage over other games.

Now that they closed the gap between the PVP gear sets, it's really a lot about skill whether you win or lose.

The game had issues but games like SWTOR and ESO launched in much worse state and don't have the population problems that Wildstar does. I love PVPing in this game but I can't get a queue to pop, even after the megaservers. 11pm I don't see anyone in the high level daily areas.

I think most of the people just don't like the IP, the lore. Feels too goofy to be taken seriously. Then the first 20 levels are horribly boring to level in. Afterwards come the contested zones and questing while pvping is always fun but not if the server is dead.

Then there's the optimization issues, I have no issues with a nvidia gtx 680 but many people claim to still have them , specially AMD people.

Then there's the dev's jumping ship, that alone says a lot about the future of Wildstar. It's a great game but its future doesn't look bright.

Swtor had really good Scenario PvP at the start..Huttball alone was worth it for that game..It also had very good PvE leveling up. Factor in its a major IP and went with a f2p system its going to do vastly better then a subpar WoW clone.

ESO had the advantage of being different. Its not a WoW clone... Its also got vastly superior PvP to this game.. They're also putting out good content a consistent rate...and they don't have to worry about the WoW expansion next month absolutely gutting their population (I'm sure there will be players that leave ESO for it, but not anywhere near the hurt Wildstar is about to take from it)

It's true that Wildstar's population is more of the kind that plays WoW over SWTOR or ESO but in no way did these last 2 games launch with a good PVP scenario at the beginning. I know, I was there. SWTOR had huge optimization issues and ability delays and ESO was just a mess once you got passed the "woah" moment of having hundreds of people on screen. I'm really hoping they improve ESO's PVP in the future, the game still looks promising but has a long way to go.

What really screwed Wildstar's PVP was the gap between PVP gear sets being too big stat-wise and the fact that people got to manipulate their arena ratings in order to get epic pvp gear.

What's really hurting the game is that people just stopped playing it. I leveled my character entirely through PVP at the start and now I'm lucky when I get one queue to do one random practice BG.

They need a shitload of marketing with their next content drop to see if people come back and stick around. The game is solid but feels pretty much dead at the moment.

the combat is the problem? You prefer the tab target, no-escape-soak-it-all-in kind of combat? WoW's combat was fun for a while but quickly PVPers notice its lack of freedom and diversity.

Wildstar's combat give players the ability to show off their skill. Timing, aiming, movement, all come in to play in addition to your spells and gear. How on earth does that make the combat its main problem?

I hate watching the telegraphs on the floor, I just customize them to be barely visible and that's it, best combat I've ever seen in a MMO.

Wildstar's combat is the best, the telegraphs just spoil the visuals quite a bit. They should remove the necessity of having to use the telegraphs by increasing the spell effects so we can see the area of its effect without having to depend on the telegraphs outlines.

Been watching WoW streams a lot because I can't seem to get a PVP queue to pop in Wildstar and I want to do some PVP. WoW's pvp from what I've played ( 6 years ) and from what I look at it right now, it's still the same crap. Specially now that they are in the expansion transition phase where everything is even more incredibly unbalanced. Maybe at level 100 things will be different and the pvp will be awesome but that would be one hell of a surprise. Very unlikely.

10 years they had to balance PVP and are still failing at it. I don't understand how people enjoy it. Gameplay is fluid but the PVP is awfuly balanced. Things like dodging, sprinting, double jumping, avoiding telegraphs are really cool additions to keep PVP skill based and not class/gear/paperrockscissors based.

Class balance is always an issue but if all you have to do is tab target and unleash everything you got, then PVP is a bit mind numbing.

Hard to believe this game is going through this much trouble.

The way people play WoW nowadays is more like a social hub then anything else. It's a social phenomenon more than anything else. Played it for many years and it still feels pretty much the same. Huge potential that never quite got explored right.

Accessability and usability alongside with customer support is top notch, Blizzard is great at that and have been improving the game over how many years? 10? Kudos to them in that department. On the other hand, 10 years of WoW and it plays pretty much the same. 10 years later and the balance of classes for pvp is still a huge issue. 10 years later and barely any cutscenes or voice overs. 10 years later and still no proper world pvp.

One thing that specially annoys me is that stuff loads right on top of you if you're going a wee bit fast, BAM players pop up out of the blue in a high end machine.

From a company that made so much money from WoW, I expected WoW to be in a lot better shape than it is today. Still a great freaking game, one of the best but could be absolutely untouchable.

No game can be enjoyed with the F2P model, you ll feel restricted. If you choose SWTOR you should sub to it in case you like the game after trying it in F2P. That said the game has great pvp but only instanced pvp mostly. If very restricted and themeparked.

ESO is just not worth it at the moment unless you love the lore and little stories the game provides you. In my opinion wait until they have more updates which will include the crime system, facial animations, more game modes. As of right now ESO is just not worth it right now but it will be if they continue working on it.

LOTRO I have no idea but I suggest you either Wildstar or Archeage.

Wildstar is having some population problems which will be solved with the megaserver update. The game is fun, challenging and provides the best gameplay I've ever seen in a MMO. It's a complete PVP and PVE package.

Archeage is a beautiful game that provides huge freedom to the player in a sandbox pvp kind of game but completely lacks proper PVE.

In my opinion what Dev's are failing to understand or simply are lacking the resources and time to achieve is that MMO's need to be a mix of themepark and sandbox.

If we gather some of the already released MMO's we ll see that they all lack something in the end but if we blend them together they complement each other quite well:

_Combat and movement: Wildstar

_Seamless World: WoW and Archeage

_Lore: WoW, SWTOR and ESO

_Intuitive Questing within a world that feels alive: GW2

_In-game cutscenes: SWTOR

_PVE and group play, endgame content: WoW, Wildstar, Rift

_Crafting: Archeage and ESO

_Player freedom, sandbox gameplay : Archeage

_Massive Scale PVP : ESO

_Overall gameplay fluidity: WoW and Wildstar

This genre doesn't need something new, it needs to pick the best these games have offered so far and put it under one package. People will gladly play a subscription for a MMO with good gameplay, good pvp, fluid, great longevity, immersive world and above all player freedom.

I think the Daggerspell build (sorcery, witchcraft and shadowplay) is pretty and its very mage like. Lots of combos you can use at max level, just need to get there first.

Any PVP game that has one guy soloing 5+ equal level players in PVP where he barely gets any damage is a recipe for disaster.

It shows he really knows his class and how the game works but still, this shouldn t be viable at all. There are a few other videos of him just facerolling other 50 players alone. When he has a pocket healer then it gets even more ridiculous.

The only skill he shows is how to gear his character properly, knowledge about the game's mechanics, his class combos and in video editing. There's barely any gameplay skill involved, he just takes it in and kills people one by one. No line of sight play, no positioning, just an one man army. Early ESO vampires anyone???

I really like the idea of open world pvp in Archeage  and the freedom the game provides (haven't played it yet) but with so many possible builds available it will be hell to balance this game.

The combat gameplay alone is enough to make you love this game. The only thing I'm struggling with Wildstar is the over the top graphic style. Wildstar with a star wars skin on it would be freakin amazing
I think the MMO genre doesn't need an overhaul at all, it just needs to improve the formula that ( for me) was introduced by vanilla WoW and TBC. Fluid gameplay, balanced pvp or close to it, challenging and insanely challenging content, a sense of belonging and progress. Add that to voiced over quests like dragon age and sandbox features where player's actions impact the gameworld and you've got a winner. So far MMO's are either themepark OR sandbox, they should be both.
have you considered playing in windowed borderless mode?

artistic and high action combat gameplay i can only think of Wildstar that's worth playing.

I didn't enjoy the first 20 levels that much but after that its curazehhh. PVP everywhere, the combat is fluid and amazing. Very fun to play and with a LOT of depth, there's always stuff to do in the game and more to progress towards to. Teeth sinker.

If the game releases in 2016 officially it will probably still be missing a lot of features that were promised . The scope and ambition of this game is huge and games take a long long time to make and polish.

Pledge if you like the game and think you'll still be alive to play it when it shines. If not just wait without thinking about it, it will come out eventually. The game is pre-alpha now, it still has a looooooooooooooooooong way to go. For those who can't wait go play something else and don't think about it anymore.

What plunge dude? It's 30 bucks and a 15$ a month IF you don't want to spend in-game gold. Without farming anything I already have gold to buy 2 months worth. Imagine if I liked to farm and play with the auction house. Take it for a spin, see if you like it or not. It's not a rocket launch.

From my experience the game up to level 20 is very boring if you don't like to do battlegrounds. From level 20 you start having cool PVE dungeons and contested zones to quest which are packing with enemy players to kill. Using the environment to your advantage to kill the enemy faction is hilarious. Difficulty also goes up a notch from level 20+ so questing is more challenging if you go for the toughest mobs.

Then there's the level cap...Attunements, gearing up, meeting the right people to do pvp and pve gold runs... You meet a lot of arrogant nerds that are unbearable and ruin your experience, like in any other MMO, but you also meet very cool people aswell that make everything much more fun. Then for the veteran dungeons, raids, rated pvp, you need a guild or a lot of skilled friends. The game is packing with content, a lot of bang for the buck.

Also, I see a lot of people complaining about the quests saying there are too many and its overwhelming. It's true, there are a lot of quests but many of them blend in together so completing them is very intuitive. Most of the quests you can skip, they are called "Tasks" and are only there if you want to farm reputation, get gold or just like questing. If you don't play a game because there's too much content then go play pong.
