This game seems pretty good as far as the concept and I love playing in city type places in an MMORPG

I just hope you can walk into buildings and do things.

I suggest buy it off eBay for little cash if you would like, it's up to you.

But if you are worried about wanting to play hard enough to get to level 50 because you like to do that in games then maybe wait 2-4 months

Personal it will take me a year to get to 50 and so I'm not worried, but then if I get a year out of a game that's is better then any other game ever for me, except EVE, I’ve been playing that for 2 1/2 yrs

That's a suggestion, play EVE. But then you will not be a huge power in PvP for at least 1 yr and as long as you specialize in a particular path of training.

I can do many things in EVE but I got 2 1/2 years into my main.

You can't expect every MMO to play the same, but TR has PvE and PvP and PvEvP.

the last part PvPvE is when you PvP in the same PvE world and the terrain and NPC are a factor.

And THAT is cool for an MMO, useualy you have to PvP in particular areas right?

Shoot, so far TR and EVE are the only MMORPG's I found were you can PvP anyware but in TR your clan or just you have to agree to a one week war but people do agree no problem because you don't loose 5 months work in 20 minutes of play like inj EvE not that that is a bad thing.

But I'm just saying if you just want to log in and PvE then you can even if you need to clone a non PvPing in a clan clone that is an exact copy but you use it for PvE only.

So you have all the options you need for PvP IMO.

But the other guys, if that's how they look at it then cool, I hope it either changes for them or they are happy with something eventualy.

Me, I got EVE and TR, I'm all set :)

I went ahead and went with the 3-day trial (even tho my computer is under the minimum system requirements with a 2.0ghz P4...the rest of the system is over the minimums tho....Basically it has some jumpyness to it anywhere outside of a cave or underground facility, but it isn't so bad that it makes me hate playing it....yet....)

But yeah, after the first 1-2 days of the trial I wanted it, so I bought it online from the website($50...I didn't want to wait to pick it up somewhere else), you have to use a credit card when you sign up to get the free month...instead of getting a one month of trial time, you pay for your first month (or 3 months, 6 months, I took 1 month), and then you get one month free for paying to play.  I wasn't impressed with that part much, but I liked what the game had to offer so it was alright.

The game is pretty fun, I am on the Ranger path right now on the way to be a Sniper at lv 30...they get torqueshell guns...the shots from those accelerate the further away you are, causing more damage at a greater distance...so I'm kind of excited to see how that will work out with my gimped processor, haha.  But the rest of the game like the quests are like your typical MMORPG quest from like, WoW or LOTR, with the little quest banners (these ones happen to be radios) above the NPCs' heads, after you finish it you get to select what reward you want.

The thing that caught my attention about the game thus far was the point and shoot with the mouse, again it IS the only recent Sci-Fi MMO that I've gotten into, so the change was/is nice...however, there are some glitches and bugs; in the storage footlockers sometimes my gear that is stored won't be in there when I open it up, then I have to exit out of the game completely and restart it from the Desktop.  Also, sometimes the game will crash for no reason by itself back out to the desktop.  I've gotten stuck in the background a few times, but the /stuck command usually bails me out no sweat.

The community seems unusually small to me...comparitively speaking, but I figure its just where the game is on the newer end of the spectrum, but usually whenever I have a question people are usually pretty helpful for the most part....unless it's about effin' Pravus Research Facility, then...well...we won't even get into it...

The map is the most complicated part of the game...it is topographical.....not just bird's eye view, where you can run to the map and you are there.  Well, sort of....the spot does still appear on the map, the little radio, but if it is higher it has a little arrow pointing up, and if lower a little arrow pointing down.  This is where it gets tricky.  The entrance to get to where the quest icon is, can be literally ANYWHERE, I'm talking halfway across the map.  Really, it's not that big of a problem, it just can get frustrating when you have to spend a big portion of time climbing back and forth up and down over the ledge of a lake cake that the entrance is on the middle ledge that you have to take a path that circles around the opposite side, all the way back up around.....sigh....Ok, I'll stop.  That's about the only thing I have against the game so far.

Anyways, I'll stop rambling, I would def. recommend it to anyone who would like a change from the stale realm of dime a dozen MMORPG's, just be prepared to deal with a few kinks.

Your command of language is fine, but you are so all over the place that I'd say you are either ADHD or on drugs ...

Please don't write "reviews". Thanks.

Beer, actually!!11!

But OK, I won't write anything else ever again.  Or might just to irritate people like you xD

Haha.

Beer I'm sure these guys are nice in RL but hay I'm sure you know that, but yeah I'm one who loves the game.

But of course I just got into it 1 1/2 months ago. But then now there is way more content that a non newb will not look at any more or most of the vets are haveing fun still but it is the WAY you play MMORPG's that depends what games you will have fun in or for how long.

I suggest you listen to the awesome podcast Tabula cast, they love thae game and I rather listen to someone who likes it when I'm new to it. www.rgtr.com/news/latest_news/tom_potter_on_tabulacast.html You can say I'm a fanboy of TabulaCast, but actualy I like PodCasts in general too. I recomend them when playing any MMO in order not to get bumbed out.

www.rgtr.com/news/latest_news/tom_potter_on_tabulacast.html TabulaCasr 28 was pretty cool. But yes I understand you guys are borred or whatever and I truly wish you could see it all as a newb like what I am,

But oh well, just bop your selfes on the head and get your memory erased and then come back, you'll love it :)

It seems my reaoning to wait untill after the 6[7 month mark was correct again in this game because it seems that now they are finaly adding what they wanted to,

A good time to come back if you do not want to wait a little motre would be 2 months from now.

Also IMO TabulaCast 28 has been informitive in this respect you might want to watch it if you have not already, the link is in the news page on the TR website www.rgtr.com/news/latest_news/tom_potter_on_tabulacast.html

I play on all the servers and I see people all around the maps, one thing was needed though is a better way to get into groups, and they finaly got that going in test server now so that's cool.

I would geuss about 100,000 subs. and going on the up swing, sinve the low swing has gone past now it seems.

I'm not sure what you could be talking about. The it looks good to me, I even play with the radar off to be more immersed.

I guess I'm just taking my time and haveing fun, and it is actualy good imo to have to look up a hill and find a way up or a hidden path.

What do you want? For it all to be in one big flat room with objectives straight in one direction?

I am having fun too, but when my toon can see over a hill (with camera in first person, or eye level) then I should be able to get over that hill. The idea of "invisible wall" is just that, and not hard to understand. As for the comment about "one big flat room with objectives straight in one direction"? Where did that come from, I thought I stated that I wanted more than one direction of access...

I see, yeah, that's cool. I was just really confused.

I used to hate it when I could not jump off a building in SWG, Personaly I don't see any of that in TR,  but hay, that's just me. That's probavly why I was ao confused about what you were saying.

I do remember once I could not get over a ledg but then I figured it was just sapposed to be steeper then it looked, or matbe they forgot to put walk mesh there.

I would suggest you tell them exactly were they might of forgot to put walk mesh and bug it or something.

My guess is you have already so cool.

The End game to me is really when there is going to be other people who enjoy the game to play with and a good story line and the feeling of living in it, which is what I get when there is an active community that likes the game. And with new stuff every once in a while.

I hate to say this but SWG was a good game and yes it lost its luster after changes but I swear you could still grow your own cities but by then the cities were dead so no point.

TR has a good community and I love the lore so it's good to go with me. EVE is good too, you can finally play the story line/lore with Empyrean Age now.

That's what people like IMO in MMO's besides a continuing lore, and that is to be able to highly interact with each other. IMO that is.

P.S. Maybe it is good sometimes to wait for game to get to the 6 or 7 month mark live to THEN join into it.

All though the comunity is pretty cool now and I heard they were always pretty cool to. but still I'm glad I started just now.

Mass Effect is like walk this way and shoot this thing then that one and hardly even get shot at your self.

Getting behind a wall for no reason except that you can do it,

But TR is awesome and is actualy a thinking mans shooter. You take cover and it is actually taken into account, you use Cyber mage type powers and all the guns are different and useful.

But hay if that is your opinion then cool for you.

I'm not sure what you could be talking about. The it looks good to me, I even play with the radar off to be more immersed.

I guess I'm just taking my time and haveing fun, and it is actualy good imo to have to look up a hill and find a way up or a hidden path.

The comunity is good the Devs are good, it's looking good to me.

I just got into TR recently and so fmpov I'm good to go.

Sure :)

Ah yes it must be a habit from all the acronims running around. WAR EVE, got it.

Huh.  One of the few times I truly cannot make out what the point of the OP is.

Earthrise might be good in 3-4 years, or it might be the next great vaporware.  We'll see.

Hehe yeah I'm just kidding around.

BTW you play EvE still, cool it is an awesome game, but I personly got borred of it lately, I will check it out aghain when Factional warfare comes out I'm sure. I suggest others try it out too, it seems pretty cool.

P.S. This is Magnum's Mom, :) and he is being punished right now!!!!!!!

So I'm going to stay with the MMO I hate!

Just kidding maybe, I don't know.

P.S. BTW don't take what I say personaly, I'm just joking around here. :)

P.S.S. I admit I have complained about MMORPG's my self I can not lie about that. ;)

P.S. IMO the only opinion that is worth listening to though is your own but it does help to know people can enjoy a game you also might want to play.

Lol so you mean you must not listen to people's opinions unless they agree with you.

Congratu-fucking-lations, you're on my idiots list.

That is what you got from what I said? Ok, but think about it, why would I mean something like that, if I worded it incorrectly then give me a brake.

But then you are calling me and idiot? Nice. what you say about a game will really be taken seriously now for sure, right?

But I was trying to say that we all need to try things out for our self, that is what matters is if WE like a game, and what other people think is not as important since the person is most likely much different then you or I.

And that when I'm enjoying a game I do like to here good things about it, and people saying bad things even though I believe they have the right, is just going to bring me down and for what reason?

But what ever. let the OP like this game, it should not hurt you, there are plent other MMORPG's out their allot of them now a days anyways. get over it is the best thing to do trust me, I went through hating a game and it is not good for your health.

EVERY MMO has people saying bad things about it, it is partly because no matter how good it is it just gets to a point were you need a break but some people think the game is bad in their minds when they just over did the game and need that break and should just forget about it untill a few months then come back or not.

I like the balance between PvP and PvE, it is fun and worth playing as much as any good MMORPG.

Great comunity that love the game too. listen to this podcast and you will understand it much better.....  http://www.virginworlds.com/podcast.php?show=13&ep=1 .....

I love the story and the players stories and audio is cool and makes sence

Also the AI is awesome and it is good for PvE and PvP to be matched up so well in any game I ever played before.....

Tabula Rasa is MUCH better then I was to believe. At least now it is at the 6 month release mark.

P.S. IMO the only opinion that is worth listening to though is your own but it does help to know people can enjoy a game you also might want to play.

Just listen to this podcast and you will know all you need to know

http://www.virginworlds.com/podcast.php?show=13&ep=1

I suggest the only person you can know is going to tell you what you need to hear is yourself.

If you over play a game it gets old to you no matter WHAT game, even Warhammer or Conan or whatever is going to get old if you over do it, every game a person needs to take a rest from and anything in the game can be construed in every way depending on who you ask.

IMO this game is awesome and has good AI better then any other MMO so far and it IS getting Clan controlled outposts in about a month. And many aspects get better all the time,

And the community is one of the great ones you here about in games too.

There is soooo much to this game no one could give you a fare opinion on it except for your self.

Even when I was in corps, it was like still borring and not their fault, it was like why are we ganking this dude? oh because we are bored, the probelm is there is no real hunting, someone is there or not and afk enough for you to catch them or not or it is camping some gate for ever.

I got about 18mill SP not and I'm just going to stop skilling up after my sub runs out and then  maybe re up one a year for a month.

To the OP I agree, and IMO the missions are like mining NPC ships, for goodness sakes the story linge they give you is meaningless too and in the begining I thought it would get better but never did after 2 1/2 years.

But beware the skill system were you have to lofg in all times of the day will get you just having to keep doing it even if you are only logging on just to change them, that stinks. I have to log in even when I do not want to play? pft.

And there is no actual reason to PvP, you have to make one up and sit at a gate, that sucks.

the problem is they expect the players to make up the content, well sorry to say but players are mostly borring, unless they are talking in a podcast but then that is not even in the actual gameplay of it,

The worst thing that can happen to someone is that they are left with nothing to do and they are just logging in to change skills, and that  happened to me. Because you got to change them or you loose any hope of doing better in the future. Or for whatever reason one could think of, but that's no good.

Even if you war deck it is so boring like you say with the sitting and waiting for someone to come along etc...
