Thanks guys. Sounds like a lot of stuff to look into. Anarchy might be fun to get into again. Ryzom, isn't that free until level 120 or something? I dunno exactly... Last I checked EQ2's f2p was incredibly gimped... PotBS is sounding interesting too.. hmm.. But I never heard of Uncharted Waters Online |

Thanks for the responses. PoTBS never intrigued me much, but I've tried Anarchy Online, and might try it again. I never did get into crafting the last time I tried it. |

Are there any F2P MMOs that have a more in depth crafting system? Something a little more complex than "get these materials to make 1 sword" ?
I've tried Wurm Online and I found it to be too slow and out-dated...
I've heard Eden Online is a decent F2P game, what's the crafting like? |

This reminds me of a time I was playing an instance in DCUO. I was playing an ice villainess named "Snowfake." I.e. FAKE. Like, Fake snow, or implying that the character has a "fake" personality or alter-ego.I thought it was a funny, comic-booky name to use for a villain in DCUO. The people in the instance somehow got on the topic of villain names and were ranting (in voice chat, mind you) about how so many people try to pick names that are "too serious" for villain names. Then they mentioned aloud, "What kind of name is 'Snow Flake'? I mean really? A flake of snow? Come on." At that point I activated my mic and tried to yell back at them, "Read it again, it says Snow FAKE, how is that a serious villain name?" But suddenly my mic produced extremely loud feedback in the chat channel and they all started screaming into their mics in agony... Oh well... |

I've actually been considering trying AC. I like older games. XP |

After reading this, it seems like you need to choose the same/similar class as your friend in order to quest with them in the beginning? (Else it's a lot of solo until you can?) |

Yeah I thought of DS3 too, but the problem I heard with that is that the co-op is really badly done... the second player doesn't get anything, just sort of helps out. (Rather like the co-op in Fable 2 actually.) |

What about that new co-op game, "Hunted: The Demon's Forge" ?
It got a lot of mixed reviews though |

Oh yeah, Torchlight was really good! |

Vindictus seems pretty cool so far, but Mytheon looks like it's gonna hit the spot. XD |

Hi all, Are there any somewhat recent games similar to Diablo 2? They don't have to be MMO's but I'd be looking for a closed online matchmaking system (like Bnet in Diablo 2) that prevents hacking. Basically I want a game like Diablo 2 or Titan Quest but with really good online play. Any suggestions? |

Yeah, I just got a key too! Too bad I have to stay at work before I can actually start downloading it at home :( |

A Good "Casual" MMO? Or not good in general?

Thanks for your input guys. I guess I'll just see for myself. If I like it, great. If not, it wouldn't be the first time I wasted money on a game. haha |

A Good "Casual" MMO? Or not good in general?

Hi all, I've been wanting to try STO for a while now, but all I see is negativity surrounding the game. I'm trying to decide if I want to make that initial $50 plunge that so many are wary of. I'm a college student and in general don't really have a lot of time to commit to the usual MMO... From what I've read, it seems like the major complaints about STO stem from the fact that it's sort of a casual MMO being either too simplistic or too non-traditional (as is the case with the loading/instancing complaints.) Well, an MMO that doesn't require a lot of time commitment is something I'd be willing to play at the moment. (I'm aware that that is somewhat of an oxymoron, but I do love MMOs for the online play and dynamic worlds, and just want to find one that doesn't need constant attention to have fun.) My question is, all negativity aside, is anyone willing to make a case that STO is a good "casual" MMO? |

Anybody else realize the Sith are the good guys?

Using a "code" like these only makes you evil if you use it to do things which are morally suspect or morally wrong. The Dark Side, supposedly, is the definition of evil--using it, though, does not imply that you are using it to do evil, but it is gernerally well known that if one taps into it too often, it will consume them and turn them into an agent of evil--someone who always does what is mroally wrong. Too bad you can't be a non-standard Force user who follows neither the Sith nor the Jedi's teachings. |

Thanks for the response, AmazingAvery.
Your post was intelligently written, and I read it all. I think I'll probably take a peek and see how it's going for myself. |

Really?
That's no good... I really want this game to get better--it has so much potential.
I just need something *fun*. Darkfall was supposed to be that... but it was just... off key. |

Thank you!
I need to rinse the bad taste out of mouth left behind by Darkfall.... |
