Just because I have to, A Tale in the Desert!!:-P Great crafting game, with very very minute bugs that have nothing to do about crafting (but I can't even find the minute bugs we ran into in beta, so all is well so far I also expressed my anger with $OE having anything to do with Vanguard, but people who believe in things are willing to fight wars, even if you have a logical argument against something. As a note, I'm quite possative that Anarchy Online still holds the record for most broken and missing features at launch. It did well because of it's timing, being one of the very very few (if not the only) Sci-fi MMO, plus a dev team that works hard. I'm willing to bet that Irith Online has many more issues with bugs and confusion and choppy animations/coding than D&L has at launch. From what I've heard, yes there's a LOT of negative sides to D&L, however I don't see the game going poof, I see it developing into a medium popular game (meaning not up there with WoW, EQ2, Eve, but around Asheron's Call, Lineage II, Saga or Ryzom popularity). Reason being, the devs usualy get a better grip of their game during live than beta, there's enough exploration options to keep things interesting, and for the same reason Shadowbane still has a cult following, designed around PvP and the development of empires. Plus a crafter is always willing to try a game out, they might find some things about this game that they like D&L Crating Issues Only complaint I can understand them having is wanting a forum section, that makes sense, but not being spoonfed how to do something, they can get over it. Old games like EQ1 back in the day, the only way you knew anything was because a player took the time to figure it out and write about it. Some people actualy INJOY figuring things out, and usualy this happens to be the type of person that likes to craft. Someone will figure it out and share it with the public better than a developer could explain it. This increases the need for a crafting community to actualy talk to eachother besides the WTB, WTT messages. New gamers are useto having thair hands held and if it's not spelled out enough so that a slow 11 year old understands it at first glance, they start whining and complaining, and give up. It's like listening to the sound of an engine to hear when to shift gears, you don't need to use the dumby light. Use the community, ask questions, or figure it out and become the honored teacher of others to follow. |
