If you have any questions about Aion, Aion Source is the best place to look for answers.

For those of you interested in playing with us. You will find most of the english speaking players on North China server Region 2 Azariel. For more info checkout Aion Source. As for the game itself, I am having a blast. I just began taking up crafting and it is surprisingly easy to level up your production skills. For example: Say you want to level up from lvl 10 - 20 Armorsmithing. The NPC will give you a level 10 repeatable crafting quest called a "work order" that tells you to make X number of the item. The item you create is for exp alone and cannot be traded or sold. But the mats used for the quest item are all attainable from the nearby Armorsmithing NPC. Every 10 levels you will receive these types of quests. The only lag I experience is during peak times (afternoon or late at night) and I am from US central. But even then, the lag is only for a few seconds or less and is nothing to worry about. I know players who are already level 35 in our guild and the translations to english are still available.

I'll be playing my Asmodian Sorcerer after OB ends into retail but I will reroll Elyos during the NA OB/retail to keep things somewhat new.

I didn't expect Aion to be a groundbreaking game in a sense, but more of a improvement over existing MMORPGs, and I got what I wished for. Grapically Aion is stellar using the CryEngine (Farcry). The soundtrack is also great and adds to the atmosphere of the world and the situation you are in (battle/normal music for ex.). Quests are your standard courier/kill X quests but they make up a majority of your exp, though I can not say how long this will last as you progress in levels. The quest grinding was to be expected or grinding, but I am playing this game for the PvP. P.S. Depending on your class, soloing can become more difficult as you reach higher levels. For example my Sorcerer at level 14 has a difficult time defeating some level 15 mobs. It takes him quite a bit of effort and I often have to cast nearly 7 -8 skills just to kill one monster, and I suffer probably half or a third of my health in damage. Some quests I cannot even complete by myself so my guess is that parties will be essential later on for leveling. |

Those of us playing the chinese open beta... thoughts so far?
General Discussion « Aion 4/13/09 1:27:30 AM
Graphics, sound, and music are all great in this game. Especially the music, props to the composer for this game.
Fortunately most of my exp so far have come from quests but don't expect anything revolutionary from the quests. It is your standard point A to B deliver quests and kill X number of monsters for an item or so. However this I do not mind one bit.
I am playing this game for the RvR and PvP, and from what I hear, Abyss action starts at either lvl 20 or 25.
I plan on playing Aion after OB and purchasing time cards from a 3rd party site if possible. It sounds desperate but the current batch of MMORPGs out right now doesn't appeal to me and I could use the extra experience learning how to play my class.
P.S. The majority of the Aion Source (popular Aion fansite) players play on the Azariel server in Region 2 North China. If you want to play with other English players, this server is your best bet.

If you want skill based PvP that requires some teamwork, try Infantry Online. Skill based PvP that requires running and gunning for the most part, Combat Arms.

EVE Online fits a few of your requirements. No instances, painful death penalties and a hard game where grouping is necessary.

Samurai of Legend
Great community, f2p, not resource based, no turns.

Take a look at Infantry Online.

Check out Infantry Online. 3rd person shooter, several classes, requires teamwork, stat tracking, shop to customize character.

Runes of Magic is a good side game to play while waiting for Aion. http://www.runesofmagic.com/us/content,20,features.html 1. Free2play: no monthly fees, free to download |

If you're into 3rd person shooters (overhead view) with live stat tracking, no levels, and a shop to customize your character's equipment with several classes as well, Infantry Online is for you.
Runes of Magic for a F2P MMORPG that has dual classes, housing, auction house, mounts, and not too much of a grind.

Infantry Online, specifically CTF. http://www.station.sony.com/casualProduct.vm?Id=039 -No grinding required. -3rd person game. -Team based. -Low system requirements. -Very few if any hacks. -Live online stats tracking. |

Which will be better Aion or Runes of Magic?
General Discussion « Runes of Magic 12/21/08 1:37:58 AM
I will be playing RoM until Aion enters open beta (hopefully there will be no wipe).
RoM is a good f2p game, possibly the best if it keeps up what it is currently doing. However Aion from the graphics and pvp (Abyss) is just too good to pass up.

I'll try not to be bias since i'm a RoM player but here is a link to help you out since a lot of people are wondering the same thing.

A few games I would recommend online are World in Conflict and Tom Clancy's End War. Offline, any game in the Total War series would be fine ^_^ ----- For a fantasy MMORPG, try Runes of Magic.
