Guild Wars 2 - Mass info for the uninitiated
General Discussion « Guild Wars 2 5/28/12 2:31:14 PM
I didn't see housing or even guild housing listed, bummer. Without that or even a decent appearance tab(dye is a weak choice). Not to mention nothing was said about hobbies like fishing or any kind of fluff content for RP'rs. GW2 looks like it will turn out to be just another eye-candy mmo with no immersion. Dissapointing to say the least. |

With all the problems GW2 dodge sounds like it has, I wish AN would just use a similar dodge mechanic like Tera does. |

LucasArts & Spike To Unveil New SW Game Franchise
General Gaming « General Discussion 5/26/12 1:01:30 AM
I am surprised no one recalls that it was already leaked that there were hints and a couple screens of a current Star Wars Battlefront being worked on. I am betting the news will be something like a Star Wars: Battlefront Online version of CoD or MW. |

APB: Reloaded: v1.8 Released with a Bonus
News Discussion « General Discussion 5/24/12 6:43:11 PM
APB is a waste of great artistic graphics in a mmo that encourages online-bullying. That being said, these coupons are pointless because even if they paid me, I wouldn't play the game anymore. |

Rift: Conquest - Open World, Three Faction PvP
News Discussion « General Discussion 5/24/12 6:41:14 PM
Rift doesn't need more reasons for button-mashing than it already has. I really wish modern mmo devs would start focusing on adding depth and content to games instead of more pew-pew console style garbage. |

Here's to hoping Red5 sticks to their guns about no character levels and doesn't cave in to whiners like CCP always does. |

Star Wars: The Old Republic: New Video Diary Spotlights 1.3 and Beyond
News Discussion « General Discussion 5/22/12 6:55:37 PM
SWTOR wouldn't need character transfer or a better LFG tool if the game itself was better. But alas, SWTOR still bites and has nothing to do with Star Wars other than the label on the box. |

Star Wars: The Old Republic: Bioware Rocked By Layoffs
News Discussion « General Discussion 5/22/12 12:47:18 PM
Well SWTOR is obviously a sinking ship now. While some think it might be normal, it isn't. What some people are mistaking is that normally staff get reassigned to other projects after launch, not fired.
Another reason the ship is apparently sinking is because if BW had any hope of making a comeback, they would be making use of the staff they have, not fire them. Instead BW seems to be cutting losses now and prepared to let the game idle with trivial updates every once in a while.
It really is sad so many companies these days don't listen to the gamers and learn from the mistakes of the past failed mmo's. |

Star Wars: The Old Republic: Community Conundrum
News Discussion « General Discussion 5/16/12 10:21:43 AM
It's not called tourism like that other poster claimed, it's called BW made a crappy game that only appeals to a niche fanbase. It's too bad BW didn't focus on appealing to the actual SW fanbase instead of going the greedy and lazy route of trying to clone WoW. |

Over the past few months I have been gradually getting more gold farmers, spam, and other types of rude site members sending mail to my inbox. Maybe I missed it, but there doesn't seem to be a way to report spam or gold farmers mailing me. |

TSW the most content of any MMO released in the past 5 years
General Discussion « The Secret World 5/12/12 11:01:11 PM
If TSW has so much content, then why do they restrict players to only being able to pick up 3 quests at a time? Sounds like the opposite of the OP's statement to me. |

I used to love EVE after playing it for years until I lost all respect for the devs after their giving into the whining brats that couldn't live without a bass ackwards feature that involved being able to spin their ship while in the hangar. It's sad that EVE that had so much promise for being able to evolve with gaming technology, only to be forced to devolve their own game because of a few whining kiddies. |

The Secret World: SWTOR vs. TSW – A Story Comparison
News Discussion « General Discussion 5/11/12 10:21:09 AM
Firstoff, SWTOR doesn't have enough story to matter for anything. SWTOR only has voiceovers and is for the majority just a lot of pewpew with no challenges to satisfy the WoW fanbois. |

Star Wars: The Old Republic: What's Coming in Update 1.3?
News Discussion « General Discussion 5/09/12 9:46:45 AM
Of course as usual, the content updates are a waste and a slap in the face for SW RP'ers who care about the canon and not some money-grabbing WoW-clone with no soul. In fact it's ironic in the freeze frame above it shows two characters sitting at a table talking which of course is impossible to actually do in-game. Nice show of more false advertising Bioware. |

The Elder Scrolls Online: Three-Faction PVP a la DAOC
News Discussion « General Discussion 5/09/12 9:41:35 AM
Originally posted by Ilaya First off, SWTOR had only two factions. Secondly, BW doesn't use the traditional Hero engine, they use a gutted version of it that they botched. If you doubt it, read BW's own interview discussion about it. |

The Elder Scrolls Online: Three-Faction PVP a la DAOC
News Discussion « General Discussion 5/09/12 9:38:33 AM
Originally posted by Reizla Forget that idea, if the devs allowed players to switch sides they would find a way to exploit it like always and create problems. I am glad the devs are using fixed factions. It will weed out the problem-kiddies. |

The Elder Scrolls Online: Three-Faction PVP a la DAOC
News Discussion « General Discussion 5/09/12 9:36:33 AM
Finally, a dev team that realizes that DAoC's three faction system is the way to go when it comes to faction pvp. Far too many devs are clueless these days when they create only two-sided faction pvp and wonder why it doesn't work. This is awesome news about ESO. |

The reason is that if any one of you read the interviews with BW about the Hero engine, you will see that BW basically gutted it from day one and the engine they currently use is nothing like the true engine. The problems SWTOR has is the fault of BW and BW alone. |
