Article at IGN about the possibility of a cross platform AoC for PC and 360.  They are exploring the possibilities it sounds like.  Sounds like an interesting challenge to me personally.

If they are able to overcome technical hurdles, what are your thoughts on this?  Do you think this would be <good/bad> for the <game/genre>?

Do you think people on one platform would have an <advantage/disadvantage> than people on the other platform?

Would you <support/run away from> such a bold move?

I support it.  A true gamer is a gamer at heart, whether it's PC, Xbox, PS, or Nintendo...or any other iPhone game.

A true gamer doesn't care and understands that in the end, we all play games to enjoy ourselves.

I'm all for this.  I really hope they do this; it is the future after all.

not all gamers are alike. And there is a big difference between a PC gamer and a console player. Personally I dont want to see the same kind of players on my server in Conan as those I see my son play with on his xbox360.

Most console types have no concept on how to play an MMO, much less how to work within a group

Most console types are rather immature

Most console types have little concept of roleplaying. You can say goodbye to any roleplaying once they flood any of those unofficial (and maybe even official) RP servers.

Dont get me wrong, I sometimes play Halo and Grand Theft Auto 4 with my son and his friends online. Its a fun time but I dont see myself wanting to play with these kinda people in an MMO. Its like oil and water, doesnt mix

I disagree.

PC gamers are pretty immature too.  Any gamer can be.

You should log onto WoW or CS:S More often to see what I mean.

Yeah, that would be my guess too.  I think every MMO should have a test server where you can  try the new patch coming up.

Also to be able to up your skills and items.

Those timezones are completely made up and not official.

these are unofficial but agreed upon by the community?

I found this floating around on the AoC official forums.  I guess this could be fake, or unofficial.

I do apologies if it is not legit.

No worries. I am just curious if its realistic or not because that could affect who picks what server. I am pretty sure all the servers will be in NJ so maybe the "timezone" is just a setting for the in-game clock? I have no clue, just curious. If anyone can confirm or deny or explain the exact meaning of the timezones it would be great!

Yes, I believe they all are in New Jersey.  So far that's what I'm hearing.

As for the clock, I'm not so sure they have an ingame clock (except for the Hyborian time, but every minute ingame is like 20 seconds in RL).

I wonder if they will have an option for a server time though, that would be kind of nice.  And easy for planning things.  I'll keep my eye open

Installing it on my gf's computer.  I'll let you know how it runs when the game launches.

I wonder if all of the US servers are in the same datacenter or if they are scattered around the country. I'd like to pick the one closest in relative terms to my location (if possible).

lol omg, they did.  Well maybe that isn't a wise choice then, lol.

Hmmm.  Anyone know what server is near Missouri...pvp?

Now is the hard part in choosing a server that is a good name...not over populated and not empty.

Deathwisper....anyone interested in rolling that one with me?

Lol...I think I was 14.

My friend played the game.  He was talking about it one night while we were talking on the phone and I was like "what do you do?"

He said...I don't know, just everything.  You can do anything you want.

I was confused.  lol  Keep in mind the only PC game I played was doom and duke nukem.  I was a console dude for some time.

So then he brought the game to school one day and told me I could try the demo.  At that time the t2a game had a single player demo you could try.  So I did and I ended up not liking it.  So months passed and so did my birthday.  I was 15 then.

For some reason I wanted to try the game again.  So my friend let me play on his account once and BOOM, I was hooked.

So I guess you could say I was 15 when I first started it, since the little demo doesn't count.  Man I miss UO :)

I started playing May 2000, but tried the demo in September 1999.

Awesome screenshots.

From the looks of it, you had the plauge of the textureless characters at times too.  I hope this will be fixed.

To fix the Texture issue with the characters.  I'm tired of seeing greatness, then moving the camera and then all the textures downgrade to crap.

That's it.  I'm happy with the game.  JUST FIX MY TEXTURES!

If WoW is McDonalds, then what the hell are games like D&D Online and Dark & Light?

I think it's safe to say that WoW is more like Red Lobster.  You get great service (depending where you live), you can sit down and enjoy a nice seafood dinner (WoW is fun, we all can admit that).  And when your done, your freaking FULL (WoW will fill you a bit, make you wonder WHY did I play all that, hence...why did I eat all that food.)

I would compare McDonalds more to Tabula Rasa or some other not so great game.  It looks good on paper, or for food sakes....commercials, but when you get in your remembered why you don't go to that restaurant anymore.

I'm running the game fine on Medium settings with an average computer.  The game is enjoyable even if you can't have the highest graphics.  Which is fine.  Graphics aren't the reason I play games, art style is and gameplay.

Sure it won't do much damage to WoW.  But that's fine.  The pop culture doesn't always like the best.  Music wise, tv wise, movie wise, beer taste, food.
