I seem to remember reading a quote from a Blizzard dev somewhere that said they had already begun work on their new title, and that it was a continuation of the Starcraft series, but he didn't say if it was an MMO or not.

Of course, I could be mistaken.

That's a quote from the WoW boards and it pretty much states my opinion upon WoW fanboys. Ignorant and consumed... :/

He sounds pretty reasonable to me. Would you be saying the same thing if it were a WAR-player saying this about WoW?

Don't call people names just because they don't agree with you.

You either gave your "friend" your account to play who in turn screwed you, you used a "service" to help you out or you installed a 3rd party mod that Blizzard has NO control over or responsibility for. The vast majority of hacked accounts are from key loggers. Blizzard can't protect you from them. You have to protect yourself. Your account info was not hacked from THEIR servers. It was hacked from YOUR computer. Blizzard doesn't own your PC. SOrry, but this tired argument about how Blizzard owes you when you screwed up is sad and reeks of liberal whining.

It sucks that it happens, but it does. Blizzard is not responsible. When you rear end someone in your car, because you were talking on the phone and not paying attention, do you blame Ford or Verizon? I bet some of you would try.

QFT. The situations detailed above happen countless times every day in the US, and are the reason for 90% of America's problems today. People need to just stop blaming other people for their own stupidity.

Look, I'm not here to flame anyone and it's pretty clear you are here to pick a fight. I just thought it was amusing that here you are shouting to the world about how awful this game is, and then you're all defensive about how leet you are. If you hate the game, why did you play it for so long?

Stop being a tool and just leave, if it really offends you so much.

-Benhamine

Absolutely, and mentioning that he has 5 level 70 characters (as if that actually MEANS anything) was just to throw that out there? I've been playing since the game came out as well, and I don't have 5 level 70s, but that doesn't mean I've played any less or that I'm not as good at the game.

He threw any ground he had away with his argument the moment he said "this game takes NO SKILL." And he DID say that. Don't go around throwing out the "WoW fanboy" tag on anyone who says something you're offended by.

WoW is good, and 8+ million other people also think so.
EDIT: I'd also like to add that if you're still interested in playing, roll on Dark Iron and contact me in-game. I'll let my guild know you're there and I'm sure they'll have no problems inviting you.

Bashing the game? I have not bashed the game.  I have played WoW for over 2 years now.  My account is still active since Feburary 2005.  I have almost 5 level 70 characters and I can say from experience that you are full of crap if you think I do not know how to play the game.

I still play the game and I don't brag for crap on the forums.

Right, okay.

"I'm teh uber roxxorz and I have teh leet 70s but this game SUX and I HATE IT!!1!"

You're bashing AND bragging, at the same time.

BRILLIANT!

My guild tried to get naxx going, but the most we could get was 25 ppl.. plenty to do it, but i was the only one that would have been able to use the drops, since most of the rest were at 70. can you imagine how hard it would be to get 25-40 ppl to do something thats not actually going to benefit them, where there is lv 70 endgame content that will?

This is exactly what I was talking about. You're just in the wrong guild, man. Find some people who appreciate the game as it is, rather than constantly pushing for whatever item is the most awesome. Epic items are cool and all, but the stories to tell afterwards are far more impressive.

Hi all,
I'm a 20 something college student who's looking for an mmorpg to play, I've been around the block.  I've played everything as old as EQ to everything as new as V:SOH.  Just wondering if you fine folks could give me some pointers.  I'm looking for a game that can hold my interest, can keep me entertained for the longeset possible period of time, and has a good learning curve.  I've strayed away fro WoW before, but it looks like that may be where I have to end up, because everyone's there.  Please note the only reasons I've strayed before have been kind of stupid (i.e. cartoony graphics, sometimes overly comical looking characters).  Is there anything you folks can suggest to me.  Thanks I appreciate it.

World of Warcraft is an easy game which lacks almost any challenge what-so-ever.  Once you max out your character which will take approximately 12-15 days for the average player (2-4 hours / 4-8 hours per day ) you will be able to enter raids.  World of Warcraft can easily be played alone from levels 1-69.  Upon reaching level 70, you may find yourself in a guild raiding the various areas of World of Warcraft, including the upcoming 25 man raid - The Black Temple where you will fight Illidan, a Demon Hunter who fell into madness after losing to Arthas at the Frozen Throne.

...

Hope that helps some.

I'm still waiting, Freeze.

They were handed out months ago. Where have you been?

Still being ignored, apparently, but I've come to expect it with these guys. They've been VERY unresponsive every time I've tried to contact them, and I've tried several times across various mediums, even PMing Freeze himself.

My point was they are spending resources with these silly promotional things, which, as was mentioned before, is great for the band (and they are a good band) but doesn't really do much for this game. I expect it to flop like so many before it, and be swept under the rug and never heard from again.

Have fun with that.

I guess its easier to solo your way to 70 then start bitching about how WOW is too dumbed down and simple and there was nothing to do;)

QFT! Now I can actually enjoy my time in the old raid dungeons without having to listen to a bunch of idiots arguing over their latest lewts.

Collecting the old epics will be more about aesthetic value than any "pwning" that may or may not happen. I can enjoy the storylines, the quests, the adventures we have in the old (and new) dungeons.

I can laugh at all the idiots who had previously /gquit so they can take on a second job as main tank or main healer, only to be shoved in the back and get treated like crap (and then complain about it for 2 months before quitting the game).

I switched to a G15 gaming keyboard. Looks pertier.

This was my problem as well. Since they removed certain useful keys and the numpad so they had room to add the WoW-specific shortcuts, the WoW keyset was more annoying than useful. For a new player it might be nifty, but they released the keyset too late for serious players to make any use of it.

Having said that, the ability to remove the keyset and switch to something else is extremely cool, and the extra USB ports on the back are a lifesaver, not to mention the extra hotkeys and controls for Media Player along the top.

I agree, the whole thing is pretty low and disgusting.

"i maed my oen gaeme an its just liek WoW but wit 500 lvs ROFLOLOL!!1!1"

Already had 39 people logged in when I checked it out, though, that's pretty impressive. I'm just curious what kind of person skips out of playing WoW so they can play a F2P browser-based WoW-ripoff, let alone an illegally made one.

Hang on, this isn't right.  You're all supposed to agree with me, make some not-so-subtle digs about the game, make some jibes about the kind of people who play it, even though you've probably never played it, and praise games that you haven't played for years...

Using reasoning isn't fair when all I was trying to do was tell you how much the game sucks.  :(

Perhaps they had turned off their "sarcasm detectors" and had moved that excess power into their "reasoning capacitor".
Either way, sarcasm can be a funny thing, and even funnier when it is mistaken for something else

QFT.

Sarcasm on its own is amusing, as seen in the OP, but it's always at its finest when half of the readerbase simply didn't get the joke.

Server merges? In WoW? What a joke.

who is asking for them is the WOW players, if they asking means the servers are empty witch means people are leaving the game.

It might also mean they are just stupid.

It might also mean they are playing at the wrong time.

It might also mean their server is broken and they need to move to a different one (as everyone else already has, apparently).

It might also mean you're just making stuff up to make WoW look bad.

Don't automatically assume that what a few people say is true for the whole game.

Check a bittorrent website or something. I'm sure it won't be too hard to find, since you don't need the CD keys once they're attached to your account.

I feel a little credulous here. You are not talking about a single exploit, but a whole group of them suddenly appearing. And very unsubtely as well. If a hacker has the sort of access required to magic his gathering skills to 300, why doesn't he instead just increase his gold up to 20,000? I'd guess both are just numbers in the same character database

/agree

Hackers don't just gallivant about the wilderness running at 1200x speed on a naked level 2 character. It just doesn't work that way. Also, if he took 0 damage from an elite dragon, how did he then die while opening a chest?

I call shenanigans on this thread.
