The game was scrapped when Flagship Studios went under. It didn't matter much, since the game was just another 2D Diablo clone. Dungeon Runners is the same thing and does it much better, IMO. |

I have WAY too many important things to be doing, and I can't be bothered to schedule my game time. I just want to log in and play the stupid game when I have some free time. If people think that makes me "lazy" then I think people need to take a good, long look at their priorities. As for the accusation of games "handing everything to us", I very much disagree. If anything, they are trying more and more to force players into spending their entire lives in these treadmills, which has caused me to quit WoW yet again (after having just resubscribed last week in anticipation of the expansion, no less!) after reading the changes that were being made to not only raiding but PvP as well. Separate badges for each level of raid? 25-man loot is superior to 10-man loot? Enforced Arena personal rating on EVERY piece of PvP gear? It's not we, the gamers, who are lazy, it's the developers. Rep/arena/badge grinds and repeatable content are easier than coming up with a genuinely fun game. |

I think what they need to do is a combination of total damage/healing done and a person's total contribution to the BG's objectives. For example, in AB, total damage done as well as extra points for people who contribute to capturing a flag (a huge burst of points to all those standing near it) or defending a flag (a steady trickle of points to those standing near it). Not only would this encourage people to contribute to the battle directly, but it would force them to stand near the flags as well, which is one of the larger issues with AB as a whole. Of course, the area in which you would earn points would have to be carefully designed and the numbers carefully managed, to prevent leeching or "double-dipping" by going from flag to flag when you know they are about to be capped. |

I downloaded it over the weekend and pulled a solid 350 kbps, and was able to download it in about 3 hours. |

Blizzard has NO REASON to ask you for your password, ever. They can do anything they like to your account whenever they want. If they had simply asked for your account name and perhaps your real name, I would say you could at least think about taking it seriously, but asking for your password is a dead clear giveaway. Feel free to ignore it, or (even better) forward it to Blizzard with a short explanation. I'm sure they'll get a good chuckle out of it. |

I couldn't agree more. This is a dark time for MMOs, possibly the darkest in the genre's short history. WoW is a decent game, but still lacking in several key places, and it's obvious that Blizzard has no idea how to fix it. Don't get me wrong, they are fantastic developers, and the game certainly couldn't have come as far as it has in anyone else's hands. I will likely play the expansion, but I refuse to participate in Arena and I won't hold my breath for raiding. If it's the same as it's always been (and it's looking that way now) then I will probably be finished with it after a month, if that. |

What you have to remember (and this is part of why the genre is doing so poorly) is that EQ was a different era, and a different breed of gamer. There are a lot of dumb people playing MMOs now who don't like to lose, and they especially don't like being held back because they lost. The game companies want their money the same as yours, though, and since they outnumber us, they are more important. So the game is dumbed down to make it easier for the terrible players, and they are allowed to catch up to the rest of us, which means the devs have to compensate even further to make up for the "white noise" of terrible players flooding the game, looking to complete content that is leagues ahead of them. Eventually, the people who are able to complete that kind of content are left out entirely, drowned in the sea of complaints about such-and-such being "too hard" for the masses. Games are easier to make, because they don't need any REAL content, they just have to make people believe they are progressing (i.e. "achievements" and titles and stat-flooded "epic" gear) but not actually doing anything. The whiners prevent them from doing any actual work because it would stifle their self-esteem. It's a corporate dream. |

With that said, I still think it's possible, OP, that you changed it without realizing. I'm sure we all do things like that every once in a while. If they did indeed change your name without warning, I'm curious to see where this will go. |

Sounds like they know what's wrong with PvP, but I don't know why they didn't fix these things now (and get rid of this ridiculous Arena system) instead of "some time in the distant future". |

It's like a coder bragging about how many bugs he's fixed. It doesn't really mean much if you're not making an attempt to fix the source of the problem to begin with. |
