We get to see another Star Wars MMO fail?
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 12/15/08 8:29:40 PM
Why? Could your post be any more useless if you tried? If you think its going to fail - give some reasons / logic behind your thinking so we can discuss it. Blanket generalizations - fail as posts |

Lol - more than Star Wars - someone needs to get a grip on reality. There are 6 main movies for Star Wars, an animated movie, the animated T.V series, tons of books (I own 50) and comics that take the SW universe on after the movies, and lots set before. Dont forget lots of successful games - PC & Console - shooters, rpgs, rts that extend the universe. Even Star Trek has more lore than SGW - movies, tv series, hundreds of books. |

The new overflow feature on backpacks would have to be the worst piece of coding ever patched into a game. I have no idea why they put this in and didnt see it in the patch notes. |

AoC Community Survey #5 (6 month check-up) RESULTS ARE IN
General Discussion « Age of Conan 12/14/08 7:53:34 PM
6 months to turn AoC into an average game? - 67% rated Fleshing out content as average or worse. - 71% rated balancing classes average or worse - 64% rated patches in general average or worse. So that was the negative spin, flipped the other way - 25% rated Fleshing out content above average. - 20% rated balancing classes above average. - 31% rated patches in general above average. Its only a great result if Funcom's goal is make a mediocre game (average). Will be interesting to see the next survey to see if the same rate of improvement continues. |

This game is broken and beyond repair..

The skill that ignored 100% armor got nerfed to ignore 50%. PLus its positional attacks that kill you - if they get flank/rear attack it ignores armor. So turn to face. Of course if there are two you cant. |

Vodoo Extreme ranks AoC #2 RPG game of 2008.
General Discussion « Age of Conan 12/11/08 12:31:15 AM
Well if the Poll was really representative - that would mean that there are 20 million people playing AoC as it polled double WoTLK. |
|
And funcom had so much shit to get together. At least no-one wasted money buying new computers to run WAR. I feel sorry for the people that bought new PC's to play AoC and then find funcom lied about what was actually in the game. |

SWTOR - 8 classes? New Article [Dec.4]
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 12/09/08 12:39:19 AM
Or maybe they took a leaf out of WOW's book and picked a style that would run on a lot of computers and not require the latest and greatest - aka Vanguard, AOC etc. |

Aah yes - the elitist epeen snobbery. So what reason is there to pvp in Darkfall? |

I am enjoying both the PvE and PvP in WAR. However I have no interest whatsoever in FFA PvP - so I wont be leaving WAR for Darkfall. |

The hot air left the balloon ...

For me the ideal for this game would be - if each server rather than following the shard mentality of games like WOW, WAR, AOC etc was a single planet with different storylines. I think this would open up all sorts of possibilities - what do others think? |

I disagree - instancing would be where your party opens the door and walks in and everyone is in an alternate reality version of the same house so that each member of the party can loot the house without any arguments over who gets the ring, cash etc or who gets to kill the owner. The two weeks would be a load time. |

I think you to need to revise your wording. I dont recall 28% being a majority. So whilst its a definite improvement from the previous survey it also shows Funcom has a lot of room for improvement. |

Draccan - that sandbox MMO you are looking for that lets you create your own story and content already exists. Its called 2nd life.
I disagree with your statement above. I think story promotes role-play as it helps those bazillions of casual players who have no idea about role-play to get into a character. To me when I read whats been published so far I get the impression that Bioware want you to play a heroic role - something thats the norm for single player games but has been sadly missing from MMO's. I am unsure how you can have 10,000 heroes running around in a MMO though. |
