Any game can become a grind Fest if you allow it to become one. Vanguard has multiple quest lines to enjoy not mentioning crafting, diplomacy and if you turn into a grind Fest it’s because you choose not to delve into the inner makings of the game.

I forget where I saw the article but they get a TREANT yes a a BIG ASS TREE FORM at lvl 10 and it's supposed to look just like the ones in Lord of the Rings. VERY COOL IMO

That sucks - Guild Wars with its expansions has 10 primary classes to choose from, and when you add a secondary thats 90 possible class combinations.


Ok well he does not understand what he is saying. Let me help.

There are four classes per area of choice, I will use examples from the net to help illustrate and to further educate you and the others that seem to not understand or refuse to read before they speak (or write).

Protective Fighter Classes - Warrior, Paladin, Inquisitor and Dark Knight
Offensive Fighter Classes  - Monk, Rogue, Ranger and Bard
Healer Classes - Cleric, Blood Mage, Disciple and Shaman
Caster Classes - Sorcerer, Druid, Psionicist and Necromancer.

These are the 4 classes of choice for each area. Now, each one of these classes may choose 1 of 3 paths in which to specialize, this gives you more options for a broader character build. For example, a Monk is Monk to start but when he reaches a certain level he is allowed to pick a path. From what I have read the Paths are Drunken Master, Tiger Style, and Dragon style. So as you can see ther are far more classes than just 16 to choose from.

Hope this clears some things up or at least shows you guys that Sigil has a great game with some awesome concepts.

Though I kind of agree with the OP I also think he is being a bit harsh. LOTRO is a going to be a great game with a huge world to explore and DDO needs more time to grow but IMO it will be around for a long time.

Well asshat Guild Wars is just a grind plain and simple its linear and lacks depth no matter how you cut it. There is so much more Vanguard and Guild Wars will never be in the same league.

1. Vanguard is not just hack and slash.
2. Vanguard is not just a quest for leet items.
3. Vanguard has a Diplomacy line of quests (again not just killing for drops)
4. Vanguard has a very detailed crafting system Guild Wars is lack luster to say the least.
5. Vanguard has a deep quest line not just 1 line leading to end game it has multiple lines ie Diplomacy adds 2 ways to end game. 
6. Vanguard has 22 COUNT THEM 22! Races how many does GW have?
7. Vanguard has 16 classes to choose from.

Though I respect RP'ers for who they are and dispise Leet'ists for who the tend to be I have to say keep Roleplaying where it belongs, at a table with a group of friends that are like minded.

I am sorry to say "UNLESS" you have a dedicated server for roleplaying plaese do not force people that are not into roleplaying to have to deal with it. It is annoying and in most cases just tends to slow down the pace of the game and group.

I can remember one time that I was in DDO and we spent 3 hours to get to the end of the dragon raid because a roleplaying cleric was afraid of heights, and, argh.....nuff said.

The "real" problem with Shadowbane is that in comparison with the all the other MMO's out there it just does not cut the mustard. There are so many other better games out there that I would rather play and I would have to consider any time wasted in Shadowbane just that...wasted time.

 You might want to re-look at your Warcraft lore guide book as Alliance is acually what you would refer to as the "bad guys" bent on world domination. This is an argument that "A LOT" of WoW people have had in the past but if you have played all the games and taken the time to read the history you would find that my opinion is in the majority.
I am fortunate enough to play with 5 guys I have known since HS (17 years) and a group of people that I have been playing MMO's with for about 7 years and have also become very close friends. So I am lucky when it comes to my online family.

Vanguard is going to be the next big thing. I have seen and played all the big ones (and some bad ones )and this one stands out. For all the Sony haters get over it they have no real control over this game and I am sure you can get over your gimped jedi by now. I was in SWG when it took 13 damn profs to unluck and I am over it.

Me, my guild (over 150 peeps) and just about every gamer I know are going to be there for launch. I hope to see a few of you there.
