WAR is an EPIC fail.  DAOC is FAR superior.

I agree that leveling is an obsolete model.  As a previous poster said I think sandbox games are poised to make a big comeback.  Say what you want about the "journey" - but I can only make that "journey" so many times before it is a chore, regardless of the game.  End game is what most people strive to attain.  There are so many different paths of character progression developers could take - I think that leveling is just a lazy way to keep people playing for extended periods of time.  If you give us meaningful and fun gameplay players will play the game on its merits.

FOr armor you can used the armor you get from quests, which usually isn't to good, or get some MAstercrafted armor from a player.  TO do this though you need t harvest one rare for each piece of armor (ore= chain, plate/  pelts = leather / roots = cloth) and than find a player to make it for you.  MC armor is the best available during the lower levels and is available every 10 levels starting at 12, than 22, 32, etc.

Nagafen is doing great and is one of the highest pop servers in the game.  Yesterday they just merged Venekor w/ Nagafen since Venekor had a very low pop, so now there are even more people to kill!

Been playing since the SC system was put in and have not spent one dollar on it.  None of it affects gameplay, it is all appearance and fluff items.  Don't let this be the reason not to play, EQ2 is the best MMO out there hands down.

They reactivate old accounts sometimes, just have to keep checking back.  Or you could just create a trial account and check the game out.

Currently playing EQ2 Nagafen (PVP).  EQ2 is hands down the best game out right now in my opinion.  It has everything one could want in an MMO.  Surprisingly Im having more funing PvPing in this game than I did in Warhammer. 

This discussion is a moot point.  PvP in MMOs is here to stay and will not be going anywhere.  I think the solution to this problem has already been in place for years, both PVE servers and PVP servers.

WAR isnt where DAOC was when you (and many others) left. However, neither was DAOC  months after its release. It took a while before DAOC because the one of the best PvP games out there.

Ive little doubt that WAR will get there as well. It has the foundation. The biggest issue is that players as a community dont have the patience for MMOs to mature as then one did.

Its not that people do not have the patience anymore, its that there is so much more expected out of an MMO these days.  When DAOC released it was a truly unique game.  WAR is 10x worse than DAOC, and that is simply inexcusable.  Mythic had all the DAOC resources at their fingertips, so why does ORVR suck in WAR?   The DAOC rvr format was an absolute winner, but still Mythic tried to reinvent the wheel.  They should have just improved the DAOC rvr system instead of trying to make this game WOW with pvp.

Just started playing on Nagafen (PvP) and am having a blast.  There are plenty of people playing there and I haven't had any trouble finding groups.

Anyone have any idea what the zone domination system consists of?
