might not be all the trailer either... |

As character classes get buffed up the older content never got augmented to handle the new abilities of players. So the older stuff in original is very easy now. Especially at the moment with the new Spell power upgrade and abiliy damage upgrades. |

Poll: GW2 VS. SWTOR - who will inherit the WOW throne?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 10/12/10 10:14:45 AM
On the Star Wars lore...while a lot of people like the old repub game....I would probably guess of the masses of star wars fans they are more in the lore and time period of the films as opposed to the past that was never visually shown to them through the eyes of Lucas....though how crappy that view might be can be debated. |

Originally posted by bunnyhopper I think the swimmer would call swimming with the sharks stupid....and the farm game player would say the game is now not fun because it removes the strategy. Killing or being killed by others is not the only thing that makes something hardcore. Eve Online even without PvP would still be hardcore in playing the market to make money. Myst never had killing and solving some of the stuff without a guide is hardcore. Just because a game does not have PvP does not mean it is not hardcore.....adding PvP just to make it "hardcore" in your eyes can ruin the "hardcore" that is already in the game and make it not more hardcore, but more crappy. |

soliders in afghanistan would call us all themepark players probably...no matter your "game" |
|

you might say that they do not exist, but someone that views those extremes as hardcore would say your idea of hardcore is not hardcore....as someone playing the farm game on facebook might think their game is hardcore....hardcore is relative...to try to claim one is more hardcore than another is very subjective to what one individual thinks is hardcore. |
|

And realer hardcore would be total looting even of a players bank, destruction of their in game housing, and perma death....
even harder realer hardcore than that would be every time a player kills you can takes all your stuff you have to go out and buy the game again to play again....
even harder of the real hard hardcore would be when your character dies you are actually killed in your home by a ninja from the game designer....
hardcore is all relative. |

How long did your first WoW level 80 take?
General Discussion « World of Warcraft 10/04/10 12:32:45 AM
About 4 years and a few months i would say. Seeing as I started my first character in Nov of 2004 and you could not make 80 till at the least Nov 2008. |

Everquest nostalgia. Edit, Nostalgia. What are your memories?
Hogcaller Inn (General) « Everquest 10/04/10 12:27:05 AM
I remember as a kid going to the Smithsonian Air and Space museum and getting freeze dried ice cream and I thought it was the greatest thing ever. Went back about 10 years later and got it again....and it tastes like crap though it is the same. Sometimes your memories are better than how the real thing is after your tastes, desires, and expectations have refined. |

there would just be a lot less people playing mmo's...investment into them would be smaller....less games would be produced. There is a reason in the western world that WoW has so many players compaired to other games. Fact is it seems most people do not care for the style of other games. I doubt more would like them now if WoW was not around or they would be playing them instead of WoW. Blizzard sold WoW because of their name...then the players of the game actually liked it. EQ2 came out at the same time with a lot of hype. It sold well, but a lot of players did not like it. |

EA response to consumer about APB
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 9/29/10 11:55:11 AM
Why would they send an lawyer...they would just file a motion to dismiss for lack of standing due to EA not being the owner and holding no liability in the company that created and ran APB. Unless EA was running the servers they have not liability except an agreement to provide cash to APB in return for them getting the returns for sales of the software and a return on their investment. |
