SWTOR 1-50 is a very good gaming experience. the Cartel shop augments this experience and lets you dip into the lvl 50 PvP or PvE for a small credit card purchase. That's pretty good. A smart move from Bioware/EA.

 

Problem with endgame Ops raiding or PvP in SWTOR is there isn't anything great or new there. The magic in the game is the story. What Bioware/EA really needs to do is produce good story-based expansions. That would really drive the game forward.

You seem to be missing the major problem with the game, far to much story and not enough to do.  Now you want more story?  Sorry that it seems to me would be a major mistake.  While a deep story is good in a MMO, you also need to include things to do.  Personally I think the game is unfixable as the game systems need a major overhaul.  If they want to save the game, they need to do what SWG did, add a space expansion and remove that ridiculous arcade thing, it is does not belong in a MMO.  I might go back and resub if they did that.  If they just add more story they are wasting their time, the vast majority of past subscribers will just laugh at them.

   I cannot speak for anyone else ( although many people who post claim to speak for everyone) but what I want is more story, cut scenes, more combat, better space game, crafting a bit more usefull.  If the next expansion concentrated on these I would be happy.  I understand you have the PvPeers so that has to be in the next expak also

SWTOR is just not worth the sub or the F2P restrictions, which is the problem. If EA really wanted to turn things around they would of designed a F2P that is both profitable and inviting - now they will have neither. It won't be as profitable as it could of been because not many who bought the game will come back and the new players will soon find they have to sub or get nickled and dimes to be able to continue - many won't - they are F2P players for a reason.

 

I am not a GW2 fan - but I also think SWTOR would be better suited to be B2P with a cosmetic cash shop.

 That might be the case, but many who bought SWTOR felt that it was not the sub fee. F2P should be designed to invite those players back, not puch them away again. But I see the point, if you like the game it is worth the $15. But it is hard to like the game, EA missed up by launching SWTOR to soon, then they messed up by not fixing llum ASAP. Then they brought out the nerf hammer seriously hampering several classes. And now they roll out the worst F2P implementation I have ever seen.

   I enjoy the game, in fact I guess sony did a good job with the F2P because I will be subbing again, for one month anyway

Just helping them make an informed decision mate. and the game is not free to try, its free to suffer. because its not that its a free trial (after all, you get to do almost 95% of the content) its that the game punishes you for trying :3

No sprint (dont tell me the BS of getting it by lvl 15, the maps are so big that by level 10 youll want to kill yourself), increased costs at shops, decreased exp so that you have to grind for your story, limited loot, and constant reminders that if you just open your wallet, everything can go away, in your inventory, in your character screen, in your companion screen, every time you complete a quest, every time you want to use the general chat, a BIG FLASHING YELLOW DOT (wich you cant make go away), instead of an option in the menu or something. Im amazed they dont make you pay for the advanced classes.

For the ppl that still think this game is wtill worth it with this F2P model are just in denial. Come if this was suppose to be a F2P there shouldnt be so many stupid restrictions. Bioware should follow models like GW2 as least. Buy the box and put in a cash shop for example. You cannot provide enough evidence to prove us wrong. I dont mind buying the box and play F2P, hell thats what i did for GW2, I even spend some money in the cash shop. Is just plain stupid for you have to pay for a second or third quick bar, that you have to pay to do the operations. I repeat and you cannot argue this point. This is NOT a F2P this is a Free Trial Extended. You enjoy the game than sub, but you will see that 8/10 players agree with me. Why I want the game to be a real F2P simply enough this game is not worth the 15$ this game would be great with a real F2P model. 

   Meh I bought GW2 and well it is not a bad game, it is a game I would never sub for, (if they had a sub) I find it a bit boring. I do not think TOR is a "free trial extended" game, that type of game would be Tera or AOC. The people who will play and enjoy TOR play it for the story and production values not to level super fast. For some people just buying a few items in the cartel shop will be enough for others they will sub , but the people who will enjoy the game like story, production and animations etc

  Agreed and that is why I liked it. Others were expecting SWG2, we see a backlash from mmorpg posters because prob 70% are hard core players and TOR was made for more casual players which is why F2P should be a huge success
