1:Right, feels like Planetside eh... clearly you have never played Planetside, or your too drunk to remember the actual gameplay of FE. Planetside was so much more on the game mechanic side, it actually resembled a FPS game. Which FE doesnt, it could be insulting for Planetside fans to compare FEs combat with theirs. 2:The style was much more fun and orginal compared to Aion/CO, ye orginal for sure, more fun... only if your a maschosist, what kind of statement is that, bullshit. 3:Oh and better then COs character custimation system... oh dear now your really on deep waters, I actually liked the custimation system in FE but its still quite inferior to any of the CoX games.. as well as CO to put it mildly. 4:I take it your trying to insult or say that only WoW fans and brats should stay away from your majestic game eh? Thank you.
1: You think planetside feels like a real FPS? It doesnt to me. I was comparing it to another mmo then standalone games for they will always be better. Also both games seem to fire and have same recoil type to me. Also It an rpgfps even if you aim right. They have a chance to dogde. 2. It an opinion. CO and Aion are cookier cutter crap. It does feel like your in another world with its graphics. CO makes you feel like your in a cartoon. Aion just there. I dont understand why you calling opinion's bullshit ether. Are you ok? 3. I was refering to the CO class system not its character avatar costom crap. CO character classes Is all cookie cutter. The spells just different names with different animations that do the same exact thing. Aion classes same old. After years of the same stuff it becomes more borring. So when something unique comes along you can actually have more fun in it then the other crap. 4. No, .Im saying the game not polish nor will it ever feel like it. It rough game and not for people who scream about polish.... like you. |

Mythic- You got the Warhammer IP!!! How did you fail??!

Indeed. The farming for loot through PvP was pathetic. The bugs at start killed it for me though.. It all just one big grind for better loot like WoW. If it was more like DAoC where you made template once then go out and protect your realm. The 48classes and many ways to level up gave pvers enough todo without raising level cap. Sigh I just wish DAoC classes were balance by 1v1(if it balance 1v1 it'll be balance by any scale aswell other then AoE effects) and not realm vs realm too many gimp classes or gimp specs to make the game fun for me to still play.

I never even heard of this game till I hop into beta yesterday. The characters look alright for today standard but the world was lacking... the polygon count. The animations needed a lot of work but It did have the apocalypse feel to it. I seen nothing wrong with the "FPS" here. It felt just as much fps as planetside did to me. You got to remember it an mmo. Im sure they are limited on what they can do here. One thing is the Engine does feel... clunky. This includes combat. This should be there prime focus for sept release or no one will enjoy it. You'll have to play it to really understand how it feels. AI has some issues with pathing. The humans AI did sidestep. I don't know if this was a bug or actually sidestep though. Also I seen worst UI this one is rough for today age. It feels like the old EQ and DAoC UI's. Anyway, I enjoyed playing this game more then Aion and Champion combine. The feel of an apocalypse world with this style combat was more fun and original. The crafting made it even more fun. The cooking craft was important right from get go. You wanted health and the stamina regen buffs. It was nice. The character AP system felt unique and better then Aion and Champions online characters classes/customization. One thing. This feels like an Indie mmo and strongly encourage younger players who were spoil by WoW polishness to stay away. I wish these guys had more of a budget to polish the game up but I seen more people buy the darkfall crap who didn't even had the balls to allow open beta. Edit: added in combat thoughts. I hope this game good luck. If they polish enough by sept 15 I might buy it over Aion. |

Reducing the PvP Zerg, by INCREASING the AoE damage
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 8/18/09 12:01:02 AM
*In my DAoC days AoE was too powerful in solving the zerg problem. It became problematic for keep seiges and stuff. CC is always a boring way to fix population aswell and creates problems of assist trains. I never like AoE is king and CC. *What work the best for me is Friendly Fire. This always seem to help with zergs in planetside. You cant hit your target if someone in front of you. This only works in FPS style games though. It also introduced other problems for bad players can ruin your experience or greifers. *WAR tried to introduced collision detection for ally players but not enough technological resource. |

Do you have a paid fileplanet account? If so read this.... http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/247737/71MB-patch-that-took-ten-minutes-and-works.html |

Originally posted by Rayx0r I didn't mean to suggest this problem happen before in champion online. It happen in other releases. I'll edit the post to clarify.
Edit: You are right that something happen with networking. It what stress test are for but It a patcher like other stated. I really hope the problem is caused by an outside source and not number of players. |

It's that it did happen before in earlier mmos. I stated elsewhere that developers should be more experience then this. This patcher is horrible. WoW has 5million players and rarely has problem on patch days now. Also It released 5years ago when mmos were still new. Most mmos that were newer had launch day and stress day nailed down right. Cryptic develop an mmo before this. They shouldn't be allowed excuses. It feels under-budget and rushed. |

Originally posted by Larpus Easier said when they are developing two mmos at once. It must be a lot of money moving around over there. Also why they need more money upfront because of two mmos. I expect decent Hero game anyway. CoH was fun but i hated the class system. So if it even turns out unbalance but I enjoy the class system and combat/PvP. I think I might stick around till another next gen mmo comes out. |

torrent download discussions not allowed on forums?

I can understand asking to stop discussion of torrent on their forums for liability reason. I don't understand. Them demanding people to take down the torrents. =/ |

Well they may have given them a bank, or perhaps a key generator. There's no saying that the sites reported in "oh by the way we gave away 20,000 keys" or anything like that. By the time they knew, perhaps they figured their server would hold.
They should atleast predict a 100k load. Also it would of been cleared up long time ago if it wasnt for the freezing files transfers |

I dont mind the problems, i do mind the poor communication.
General Discussion « Champions Online 8/17/09 9:05:29 PM
They tried communication and all they did was give out bad information on how to fix problem. All I hope is someone get fired from making a horrible patcher. You think from years of mmo experience. They should know about huge patches should have many alternative ways of downloading and torrent style of patches. |

I found this out last night. I thought maybe the subscription fee was small then the MT to help with cost. So Now they add in games items to MT store. WHY? Do there servers cost more to run, If so then charge more. wait.... Isnt the idea of an mmo to go out and adventure to get these items. I always like going to old content to get some rare item to show off. Now people just buy it in some store. On top of it I can't find the list of these items anywhere. No wonder no one gives a rat ass about this game. They dont give a **** about there customers. I was going to wait for the 17th to see the items but they stated in games items will be in the MT store. I don't care if it just a penguin custom. It shouldn't be allowed and **** this game

Aion more polish with end game PvPvE and raiding. This is way more then what CO offers. I think there only Arenas or dueling for CO. |
|
|
The only thing I do not like about this game is the lack of classes. My most played mmo was DAoC with like 48? classes with many spec options to.... 8 with no spec options? This just turns me off from get go. |
