And I can tell you that you can build up a bit of tolerance if you can keep playing these kind of games everyday, when you feel sick, rest, and play again. After a while you'll get less sick while playing. However, when you stop doing this for a while, you'll get sick again. That's what happened to me. I used to play conter-strike, the only FPS i played for an extended amount of time everyday around 8 years ago. At first I was sick after playing 1/2 hour or so, but after a while I can play 3-4 hours without any problem. Stopped playing CS for a few years, and nowadays I can't play any FPS games. eg. I bought Alan Wake when it's on special a while ago and I just can't play it without feeling really sick. For RPG/MMORPG nowadays I usually use 3rd person view and try to zoom out as far as possible to avoid large camera movement. |

Yes you have to turn pvp mode on to attack others, however you can get attacked by anyone who turn on pvp at anytime.

There are also tons of non-school styles and you can learn them all if you can find the manuals for those. I've read on some website that they are planning to make school-less play more viable.

They are already selling cash shop items and allow you to top up in game gold. Think about the uproar if wipe after this.

"What if Disney gave YOU the decision to choose the developer of the next Star Wars MMORP...who would you choose?
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 11/20/12 6:07:01 PM
CCP
However......
I'd give developers who've known to make great games but have never make a MMO a try: Rockstar Gearbox or even Irrational games

The Botting Epidemic is Disheartening [updated]
General Discussion « Guild Wars 2 10/05/12 2:09:04 AM
Originally posted by tank017 I've seen and reported 4 bots (in a train) in the human starting area on blackgate the other day. All 4 were rangers. Is there a reason why they like to use ranger for botting? Is it because of the pets? |

After playing the last beta and now playing my main, a warrior to lvl 22, I'm still undecided into what kind of game this is. Is it a good, an ok or a meh game? Guess I'll have to play more to find out.
But this game gives me the strangest feeling - you know when you enjoying a game and suddenly you realise it's 3am in the morning? - this game is the opposite. I usually start playing at around 10:30 at night after I put my child to sleep. After doing a few hearts, 10 or so DEs, a few story quests, gather mats, crafts, explore POIs and vistas and caves, find some skill point, level 2-3 times, and I alt-tab to have a look at the clock and it's usually just past midnight. Maybe because of the teleport, sometimes when I'm on my way to heart/personal quests/POI, some DEs pop up so I join them, one DE lead to another and after finishing a few DEs I can just teleport close to where I was and continue doing what I was. Also I can teleport to crafting stations whenever I want and teleport back to doing I was as well. This is probably the best feature so far for me who have little time to play each night. I can play the game and not wasting 30-50 mins each session on unneeded travelling alone.
Usually doing that amount of content in other MMO I'd call it a day and go to bed (and usually at 2am or even later). For the past few nights I was unsure on what I wanted to do after completing said amount of content, in the end I chose to go to bed early. I guess that's a good thing, because sometimes I nod off when I was on a mount trying to reach some point in other MMO. But then after a GW2 session it gives me a feeling that I've not played enough time-wise. Content-wise I'm enough but time-wise no, so this is the strangest feeling I have on a MMO (or even a game) for years. |

Simple Question: Is Guild Wars 2 worth $59.99?
Reviews & Impressions « Guild Wars 2 8/26/12 8:51:28 PM
I didn't pre-purchase and don't have access to head start, but I paid $48 only for the game courtesy of GMG. Heck I paid $59 for Diablo 3 and thought that was an ok game and worth the money, so I wouldn't really worry about the $48 I paid for this game.

If you don't like grinding, you shouldn't be playing RPGs
General Discussion « Aion 8/07/09 8:06:59 PM
Life is a grind for most people and many of them complain too. So they shouldn't live? The fact is, if a game is a grind for some people, but at the end of the day they still get some fun out of it even though they complain, then let them do it. Why tell others what they should or should not do? |

Xfire shows that WAR gaming takes a dive!!! :(
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 9/23/08 10:46:54 AM
Originally posted by OrionMan
mmm.... War was launched on 18th Sep, and according to xfire, it actually went up 7% since launch.
If you are saying it went down 40% from 21st to 22nd, lets check other top rank games on xfire Wow: down 39.2% COD4: down 30% COD2: down 32% CS: down 33% War: down 37.4%
and some other top rank mmorpg: EVE: down 31% LotrO: down 44%
So it's normal to go down around 30%-40% from sunday to monday, people do have to work you know.
According to you : Are you sure this is not related to that a tonn of players think the game is boreing or that graphics is subpar? Read on a different post that dramatic changes in xfire (like 40%), certainly not can be explained by weekend effects. Xfire is supposedly a good tool to use to monitor game populations;)
Cannot be explained by weekend effects? ... hmm Tons of players must think WOW is boring or that the graphic is subpar week after week... |
