his point was whats the point in having to switch weapons just to get more skills instead of just giving them to the character. to which i'd have to agree with him. i can understand on one level you may want to say its breaking immersion if you can use the same skill with different weapons but then you're just splitting hairs.

 I don't understand the point, you still have the skills on another weapon. I don't see a problem in how they are doing it. It also brings in strategy, which skills you have equiped instead of having 100 skills all over your screen you have to be prepared before the battle.

actually its less preparation/strategy needed since you switch to a weapon and bam you have whatever skills you needed at the moment. its an annoying type of game play. it also punishes those with bad latency, to which im sure you probably have a "sucks to be them" attitude.

Its just a question of time until the plug is pulled, and all that work and effort you put into your character is deleted.....

The few SWTOR fans can try and keep a stiff upper lip, but reality is setting in.......And, we KNOW even they get bored with it, just would never ever admit it......

 

But hey YOU LOVE SWTOR!

I think Zenimax has the brains to actually not change it based on that. Casual players have ruined too many mmos in the past years.

The dumbing down of games, and making content trivial, along with welfare armor/weapons, was all because of casual players....

Hey Sov, you have me a bit worried mate....

The one area of concern I have is combat animations, particle effects and just overall "feel" of the abilities. For instance, when RIFT launched, when you heaved a fireball at something, it didnt sound right, and when it hit it was rather limp. It didnt feel powerful at all.

Hate to do it, but for example in WOW. When a mage heaves a fireball/whatever, the sound is right on and the explosion makes it seem as if you really have 'power' behind it.

Ive asked a certain writer on here for his take on it, and he failed to answer it....On another website, a writer actually commented on it.

How does the combat feel? Particle effect? Do you feel strong/powerful?

I remember this discussion when RIFT was getting ready to go into public beta.

We had a few members on the forums look at past MMO's and average out the time from public beta to launch. If I remember correctly, it was four months. Around that time frame.

That being said, most of the 'bigger' mmos launch around year end to take advantage of Xmas. Same with expansions.......

Maybe someone here with some time on their hands could do an update on when MMOs went from public beta to launch....Just for the hell of it...........
