Well, it's the side with the currently lowest morale. In the current Campaign has the Allies been pushed back from where they normally wont be able to push back. This however has now been prove to not be true. During the last days has the allies been able to puch back the Axis quite a bit. In other words this Campaign isn't in no way over. Which sums it up. There are no underdogs. There are only one side with lower morale then the other side, or less well organised (which often mean the same). |

Also thinkin of playing and has some questions.

Welcome to WWII Online and the Axis forces Emmettrhall.
I see you're addicted already. :) I have played this game since 2002. I have also tried other games during this period but none has cut it for me as WWII Online does. |

Kampfgruppe Wiking aka KGW is always recruiting. KGW is an Axis squad that muster 40-60 members online each Squad Night (Wednesdays and Sundays, Berlin hours). We have over 100 active members, and you must be playing regularly on our Squad Nights during the trial period to stay a member. We have four branches: Oden is the Infanterie Abteilung, Thor is the Panzer Abteilung, Sleipner is the Artillerie Abteilung, and Hugin is the Luftwaffe Abteilung. All cooperate very closely. We also have a long history of close cooperation with several other squads on the Axis side. So we often has some hundred men in and around the area where we attacks. KGW was created in 2000 when CRS/Playnet announced WWII Online. Vist us at www.kgwiking.com or seek us up online. You will find us easily on an Wednesday or Sunday night. :) |

Then should you look again. SpeedTree is updated. All trees are new together with new high grass (don't know about the bushes). All houses is now 3D. All 2D houses is said to be replaced with 3D buildings. Did you really miss the new Pillboxes, the new Oil storage tanks, the new Farm house, the new Windmill. You really didn't watch the screenshots did you. CRS has never said a totally new graphic engine is on its way. They have all the time said they will update their old engine Unity 3D from v1.0 to v2.0. The update from 1.0 to 1.5 is a major leap halfway to v2.0. Don't you agree? The Ragdoll effect and the Weather effect is just the firsts of many new cool features that is about to come to WWII Online due to the updated Unity 3D® engine. This update has nothing to do with how the terrain looks like. The geological formation is from the Terrain Engine™. CRS is looking for a replacement. From the beginning where the plan to create a new Terrain Engine. Then was the plan to purchase a third party terrain engine, but now one had what CRS demanded, so now are they back on square one again. When they got the time for it will they have to create (or update) a new Terrain Engine, unless someone else gets there before them so they can buy the license. This is nothing new for those of us how have paid attention. |

New capture system is about to come. No more crates to hump.
What I understand will the whole flag building be the new "table" so to speak. The capture will start when you enter the building, and it wont start if there is an enemy inside together with you. You need to actually control the building to capture it. More details about this new feature will come later on. |

I'm just asking after games that has the same very demanding features that WWII Online has. It would be very interesting especially since you claim the graphic suck. I say the graphic is pretty good considering everything the game does, and not many games deliver the same gaming experience (please tell me just one you think is likewise or even better). Graphic isn't everything, unless you are saticified with shoebox games. Shoebox games priorities graphics over game play, which isn't my cup of tea, but I know lots of people like them. I could rant about this and that game sucks too since they have a very poor gameplay. WWII Online isn't for everyone. People who enjoy shoebox games prefer easy gameplay (want to play the unvincible Hollywood hero that wont die) and stunning graphics. Great graphics is good, but only if it doesn't reduce the gameplay. |

Well Deathtripp, it isn't any ordinary shoebox shooter where you only can see some hundred meters and don't hear anything that is more then 20 meters away. On the ground can you see over 3000 meter and in the air and at sea can you see 8000 meter in WWII Online. The reason other games can't give you a visual distance more then a hundered meters and a almost silient world is that thouse games priorities the graphics before the gameplay. You do realize that a game that has to handle fast going aircrafts that not only has to load static buildings and trees also must be able to load hundreds of targets on the ground when they flows a few hundred meters over the ground, over and over again. To able to do all this must the graphic be less "impressive" to the eye then in a rather uncomplicated shoebox game. But if you knows something I don't know would I be very pleased to hear about it. So by all means, please list the games that has similar graphical and audiol features as WWII Online has. 1) Visual distance at ground that is over 3000 meter 2) Audio distance that is 400 meter for small calibre, and 3000 meter for heavy calibre 3) Unlimited numbers of players at the same place (128 is visual maximum in WWII Online) 4) A continouos gameworld with no zones/maps to load 5) Ground, Air and Sea combat in the same seamless gameworld

It has always been like that. It is only STO that works the way needed to have a forward artillery coordinatot, and artillery shells isn't STO yet. I don't even thing bombs is STO yet. |

A note on the graphics. You can either choose a shoebox game like Call of Duty with an excellent graphic. But as with all shoebox games can will you only be able to see a few hundred meters, at the best, and you can only play with 31other players, or 63 at the best. In WWII Online is there no limits on how many other players you can with at the same time. In WWII Online can you see infantry and ground vehicle up to 3000 meter, and aircrafts and ships up to 8000 meter. Add to this the sound. In a shoebox game can you only hear what is very close to your self. In WWII Online can you hear hundreds of different sounds at the same time, and from several hundred meters away. Heavy guns is heard from severel kilometers distance. It might sound strange, but if you want to hear lots of sound sources, and at distance to make it more realistic so will it have a penalty on the graphics. At some end is it a good statement to say that other games has a "more realistic graphic", but that graphic makes those games less realistic. At the same time give the "less realistic graphic" in WWII Online the oppertunity to have a really good realistic gameplay in WWII Online. With that said, I am very exited about what CRS can with the graphics after their new graphic engine that will be upgraded with the next patch is introduced. :) |

Thinking of joining up - Questions :)

The new patch v1.30 is said to introduce a new training basic section, as well as a Advanced training section. That will probarbly help you and the rest of us old timers as well. I am very good at failing in-game. I still have lots to learn so I think the advanced training will be good for me (or even the basic training maybe :P). |

Calling everone "Doc" is kind of odd, but wont help your cause. I don't think CRS even checks in to this forum. The have a full time developing their game. And when they get some spare time do they discuss various topics in the game forums with the players. |

What made you so upset Sonny? What has CRS stalled according to you? Not released v1.30 fast enough? So it is you that decide the deadline for when to release the next patch. I didn't know this. I understand you know far more about game testing and game design then the whole lot of us. I bow for your great wisdom Axis-Hater! Since you are such an intelligent person, what do you do for a living. Run Cisco or Microsoft maybe? Or just kicking back after collecting your last Nobel Prize even? |

You are a real funny kid. But I think you already knows that. The only threads that has been removed as far as I know is threads about cheating. And to call the Mods Axis bias made me laugh so dam hard I had to change my pants. :) That was a real give away sonny. I still can't stop laughing. If you could hold your head level would you be surprised to get an answer from the developers within an hour or two. There is not lots of other games where the developers is on a constant daily dialog to the players, is there. But judging from your tone here is it obvious that someone failed miserably teaching you common manners. Hence why the Rats proberbly ignored you. I know I would. Only reason I post here is due that some people might actually believe your crap you spreading around in your crusade. |

The latest development is that the Axis during the night have succesfully landed in eastern England and liberated most of the town. :) But the fight over England is still not over. The Allies tries fiercefully to push us out to save their tea and sheeps. This map has been awesome with the front moving back and forth and as such very unpredictable outcome. Any talk about Axis walkout is just nonsense and an obvious attempt to damage this great game by trying to hold off potenial new players at bay. |

The game it pretty well balanced if you ask me. What tips the front is two things, and neither can the game developer alter much. First is it the real cunning game the two High Commands play out against each other. The High Commands sets up traps in order for the enemy to walk into and WAAAHHMMOOO! the traps smashs over the neck and we have a break-out through the frontline. The other is morale. If the break-out will result in a Division or two is annihilated (and by so removed from the game for a number of hours) is it not unlikely the morale is getting low pretty quickly which can speed up the pace of the front movement even further.
Nore can You balance low morale or to reduce ones side to set up traps, nore is it a good thing to do if you could. The last map was one of the longer ones, and the Axis won it after the frontline has moved back and forth several times, eventually establishing a firm bridgehead on english soil before the map was reset. Now look at the current map. First it looked like it would be a quick victory for the Axis. We stood just outside the French major Industrial area jst after a few weeks. Then were our southern front feircefully pushed back all the way into Germany. Eventually did we have the Allies just two towns from Köln which is part of Germanys important military Industrial facilities. The Allied now had the whole southern front in a firm grip and the it seemed to be a matter of hours before the Axis would fold. The Allies were now very confident that the victory was theirs. Maybe a little too confident if you ask me. ;) Now when the time looked very bleak did the Axis High Command set up a cunning trap near Antwerp. It was performed very well. After Antwerp finally was liberated after many bloody hours of hard fights around and inside Antwerp has the Allies been on the defensive and since been pushed out from Germany. Now is Luxemburg and the surrounding towns liberated as well. The Allies morale is at its lowest level and nothing will stop our march towards the English Channel to finally conqour England and another glorious victory. :) |

Summer is over and everyone is back at work. In other words, the battle for Europe is raging as hard as it ever did. Six Attack Objectives (AO) up on both sides. That means you have pretty good fighting all over the western European frontline. |
