Found the Answer to my question.  Should of looked harder I suppose.

Ranks are calculated every day at 2:00AM EST.  They are only based on the last 30 days of data.  We look at the following factors when determining your rank:

  • How many days you visited the site (and logged in).  This is also counted when you use our "autologin" feature.
  • How much information you have posted in our forums (not the amount of posts) The quality of your posts.  If you post lot of "filler" posts that only consist of a few words this will cost you rank points. Any posts of yours that had to be deleted will cost you 5 rank points (there are only 100 total).  To prevent your posts from being deleted, please obey our Rules of Conduct.

I like this system by the way.  It incorporates everything that defines a great member.  Keep up the good work mmorpg.com staff!

The system is partially flawed in that it penalizes short posts. This is not necessarily indicative of a poor post, as answering a question often only takes a few sentences, especially if one is concise.

For example, if someone asks, "Where does <insert weapon> drop?" and you reply, "It drops in <insert location> off of <insert monster>" and provide a link, you have answered well, but have only written a small amount.

At any rate, I suppose the rating does not matter - I do not even bother looking at how many stars one has. Still, I must contest the fairness of the system as it seems absurdly simplistic and amazingly shortsighted.

That's where titles come in.  If you see a really helpful post like that, feel free to email me at community@mmorpg.com.  I'll look into adding a "Report" catagory for exceptional posts, too, so we can reward those users!

Hey Sea: What likely happened is that your mailbox was full at some point and bounced the email back, deactivating all the mails we send you.  Have you tried signing back up for the mailing lists and news letter?

First the easy question - OP is original poster, or the guy who started the thread!

Now, on to the cookies...is this just on MMORPG.com?  Are your cookies working on other sites?

Is this the entire AoC forum, or just the guild section?

Hey Lobo,

Please email community@mmorpg.com if you want to discuss your case specifically :)

In regards to invites, though, MMORPG.com uses stickied invite thread such as this one for Mythos.  This is to avoid a ton of clutter concerning invites...before we added the sticky threads, we'd have forums where the first 2 pages were 19 invite threads and 1 thread talking about the game.

I understand and totally support your desire to give out these beta keys, and I'll look into getting the stickied thread cleaned up and clarified if you think that will help.  Remember though that a warning is not a ban and the invitation warnings don't even count toward your 3 strikes :)

This is an interesting idea to grow into, but for now I think our Live Chat offers a lot of flexibility on creating rooms etc. :)

Hey Sornin, how odd!  I very rarely have chug on the site.  Is it MMORPG.com only that you have this issue with?  What connection/web browser are you using?

We're looking into adding veteran titles, but this would be seperate from the star system.
