How the heck is teso rated higher then AA is beyond me.

 

if you're talking about the hype rating of ESO, that was manipulated, i have no doubt about it.
ESO had 8.3X, but it rose to 8.5X in just about a week, while every other game took quite a dive.

 

what i know about this system is, that you need a certain amount of land claims(not sure how many) on the northern continent. afterwards, you will be able to turn your guild into a faction, and this player created faction will be able to invite all races from the npc factions.

that's all i know about this, there may be more.

thing is useless. You'll most likely see around 5~8 jobs that are usable. They are tweaking

at the moment so by the time it reach other countries, i guess it'll get better.

 

One big problem is the revealed land that we can play on are really small and the housing

zones are even smaller. There are no space for any room right now on almost every server

in korea and without house or farm, you are at great disadvantage. One thing to remember

when you guys play when the game comes out. Build your house ASAP. It's the most important

The game doesn't really have that UO level of freedom, sandbox element. It's like in between

WoW and UO. Everything just feels like it's not finished. IF they would polish a little bit more

it would've been really great. I'm sure it'll get better by the time it gets released overseas.

i agree with you on that point.

xlgames stated that they will be releasing monthly content updates, with new zones and other stuff, which would solve the problem. heard(not confirmed) that the dwarves will be added in february with such an update.

if they are actually capable of keeping their promise and release a content update each month, then the game that we would be getting would be much bigger, than what is currently live in korea, IMO something to look forward to.

Cons:

1.

Little content, only 1 small map for each level range, you follow the main road do some quests then move to the next map,and you are still on the same road, its like watching a highway movie. Most linear map in any MMO ive ever played.Top level players run around everywhere in like 5 days. There are 1/3 maps not released yet though. I believe the third map wont be so linear since it will be all top level zones.

Little content? Seriously did you even play this game? Yes there is a main story arc you can go through, but by no means is it forcing you to do that. There are plenty of area's  you can go to and level up for each level range. This is themepark mentality at its finest

About the map size: there are 3 continent, 2 are released (west and east), you will be mainly playing on one of them depends on which side you blong, each continent belongs to a faction. Around  8 to 10 maps on each continent , if you are riding a horse, which has speed of 9m/s (officially listed in the horse stats window in game), you need about 7 to 15 mins to cross 1 map.

You only play on one continent if you are themepark at the core and never get off the rails.

Extremly simplified resource production system, no matter what resource you want to produce, it takes only 3 steps.

   a. Plant the seed( different seed for different resource, eg: seeds for flowers, little pigs for pigs, no difference except the names and graphics), seeds for all resources can be bought from npc vendors.

   b. Decide if you are willing to use a specific item ( water for plant, beans for ducks, etc) to reduce the time needed by 10%,then wait.

   c. Pick up the item.

Still better than 90% of other MMO's out there with there resource/crafting systems.

You need a big enough guild to play the game, and you need to stick with your guildies or friends all the time at higher levels ( I mean all the time, all) basically there is no 1v1, zergs swarming around at high level map  (you cant pvp in low level maps), maybe its because there are too many players and the maps are too small, but its impossible for you to live past 5 mins if you walk there alone, even at 6 am korea time on monday. Remember the game is just in the second week of its OB and not even released yet.

Also false. Me and a buddy explored every inch of the 3rd continent that was available and both faction continents as well extensively. You can PvP in lower area's its just restricted to Faction v Faction. It opens up later on in the higher area's where you can "outlaw" and kill. 

 

 

 

If your going to review a game, at least review it with factual information instead of spouting off at the mouth. I'm curious to know what level you even got too in the beta. 

Lol, seriousily you just simply say false this faulse that but you didnt notice that you couldnt state a proper reason to prove your words.... and it looks like you didnt read what I was writing.

For example.. what does the first "false" in your reply even mean? I said you can only build in restricted area and its true, and I also said by the time i wrote that there is no place for another house, since you didnt know which server i play at how did you know its false?

FYI, one can rush to level 50 which is the level cap right now in less than 3 days, and since you can't build castle or claim zones yet in this game, let alone siege,  there is not much you can do after capped, I didnt rush my level but there are several 50 players in my guild, and what they do mustly now( Yes i payed for 1 month, so save it if you think I am a hater)  is roaming around in a grp trying to find opposite faction players to kill, maybe you should tell them what to do since you seem to be the few really know the right way to play this game.

By the way, you cant pvp in low level zones, you can go to the low level zone in another faction's continents ofcourse, but you cant attack them there, all you can do is let them attack you first and get killed or, if for some reason they are that dumb which is almost not possible... get attacked first by normaly several players then kill them all like a raid boss.

If you want to tell everyone how amazing Archage is, just do it. If there is really anything wrong in my post, just point it out, but stop puking the word false randomly without providing any evidence but your own opinion.

actually, yes you can. it's already possible to claim zones, in fact, the russian guild "rise" on server 9 was one of the first.

What freedom?  You either quest hub to quest hub or gather for XP up to level cap, or this is what's been said. Are there other ways to progress you toon?

 

Age of Wushu, the beta is more of a complete game than the last 4 AAA releases.

 

edit - again I'm sure I'll try the game, I'm a gamer, but the info that's been coming out this beta is very concerning. Who know they could be lies or exaggerations.

you do have more freedom when it comes to leveling. there is; exploration, crafting, mining, farming and more...
even your interaction with the auction house gives you exp. also, when he mentioned freedom, i'm sure he didn't only mean leveling, but instead the entire game.

archeages freedom applies to many things in the game. the ability to create your own unique class, traveling in the world of archeage(land or sea) without loading screens that would break your immersion, tons of features that surpass the typical options a themepark offers with the usual instances or battlegrounds and of course there is more...

you see, archeage does offer freedom, like "Biskop" mentioned. also, most of archeages features are accessible at low level, there is no need to be max for them.

I think you posted that in the wrong thread.  2 new races though?  There were 4 speculated, I wonder which 2.

the article says, what to expect on the western release, and i'm saying that xlgames probably will add at least, 2 new races till then.

yes, xlgames will add 4 more races with patches, which are the dwarves, fairies, warborn and the returned.

add the following to your list.

  • guilds(expeditionary force) that can be turned into a faction, after claiming a certain amount of areas on the northern continent. allowing to invite all races in to your player created faction.
  • sieges with player created castles.
  • i'd expect at least 2 new races till the western release.
  • over- or underachive quest system
  • deep mount system
  • treasure hunting on land, with treasure map and player crafted tool, to show your coordinates.
  • instances (dungeons)

Let's make something clear though. 

When you say "it becomes more sandbox at the level cap, or end-game", your'e not talking about a sandbox, that's entirely a themepark.  Being a themepark doesn't make a game bad though, bad games are just bad. 

AA isn't a sandbox though, which IS what I thought it was going to be based on what people around here have been saying.  However, a sandbox has no endgame, it sure doesn't have a level cap that is required to be met in order to do "sandbox" things.  Lot's of content at "end-game" is a themepark; even if that content is "sandbox" in nature. 

50 levels of themepark makes it a themepark. 

i shall give you my answer, which i posted already once.

you don't need to be max level to enjoy the sandbox content, you don't! sure, it benefits you, if you're max when playing pvp, but the pve content is available to you right from the beginning.

there is still some misinformation about archeage in this thread.

you don't need to be max level to enjoy the sandbox content, you don't! sure, it benefits you, if you're max when playing pvp, but the pve content is available to you pretty much right from the beginning. also, aa gives you xp for almost everything you do, even your interaction with the auction house gives you xp, so yes, it's possible to reach max by not questing. the questing in archeage is fast, and i mean fast. questing in archeage serves only to introduce you to the game world, the lore, your class and other things.

it may seem like it's just typical themepark stuff, but all of it is very deep and not shallow at all. many typical features like mounts are indeed innovative and the game also allows to over- or underachive quests. what does this mean exactly? well, lets say you get a kill 5 rat quest. with this system it's possible to kill 8 rats instead and get a better quest reward, or you could just kill 3 rats and get less.

lore lovers be happy, the story in archeage is considered by many very good, even impressive.

archeage is as overall package unbeatable, instead of only offering some good things like in many themeparks, you get a game that puts importance on pretty much everything it offers. story, music, graphics  and  tons of features that are not found in games that have been released in the last 10 years. instead of calling archeage a disappointment, because of it's quest system, you should honestly give it a try and not just discard it because of that, you could miss out on something great.

exactly, this was only a write up on my personal experience in the beta. While I do not expect much change from open beta to release (as the game opens up again tomorrow, if I understood correctly), there are 10 more levels after level 40 (thanks for clarifying that btw, Sygris, didn't know that :3) and a whole new continent to be opened up where the sand box elements are suppose to shine brightest. 

 

One thing I forgot to mention is the treasure hunt system, where you can find treasure chests around the world, mostly accessable with boats. You'll also have to find keys to open the treasure chests from bosses etc. (or so I've been told)

 

it's not a big feature, but it certainly does sound interesting :)
